    Anger after Paath

I've always felt the opposite after simran. It usually makes me feel more relaxed and peaceful. Sounds like you have some unresolved issues that you've been suppressing that are coming out? It could also be that now that you are coming off the drink and stuff your body is having withdrawal symptoms in this form? If you are having suppressed anger issues, family are usually the first to be on the receiving end because of their close proximity. Are the outbursts usually aimed at a particular family member, or just random? Use simran to calm the mind and thought processes. You have to let the thoughts waft away and disperse.

    I wish to take Amrit

Thanks much If you would really worry about what OTHERS are saying .. u would never be happy. People called Nanak Sahib bhutna , betaala... Kabeer ji was also cursed by his own mother ... Dekh k andith karo. Forget what others say.. do wat makes the Guru happy. Moreover Amrit will bring good vices on its own. ATB

    I wish to take Amrit

Bhen ji I have removed the link and the picture from your post in my quote of it. I do want to take amrit and luckly with Waheguru's kirpa my nitnem banis is quite good. I just have a few a few loose strings left to finish before taking amrit. Like my mum said take it when you get career wise ready etc. The other annoying thing is how people like from family friend etc tease people who are religious with pharses like granthi bhai etc. I get annoyed so I give rude answers back when someone says this to me.

    I wish to take Amrit

Bhen ji it does seem like a complicated situation from what you have mentioned. I myself have not taken amrit yet but with Waheguru's kirpa I know the panj banis and many other banis. So perhaps you can try to increase your paaths banis and show how desperately you would like to take amrit then maybe your husband will be happy for you to take it.

What is Sidhi, Nidhi and Ridhi?

Please listen to Gyani Inderjeet Singh Raqbewale narrating an anecdote from the life of Sriman Baba Roop Chand jee (Famous Sikh of Sixth Master). Baba jee was confronted by an army and asked to hand over a basket of rotis to them. This sakhi will illustrate the power of a Gurmukh Brahamgyani and the application of Ridhi, which is the power to reproduce unlimited quantities of food from a small supply. Please start listening after 14:20 min: http://www.gurmatveechar.com/audios/Katha/02_Present_Day_Katha/Sant_Giani_Inderjeet_Singh_(Raqbe_wale)/Sri_Gurpartap_Sooraj_Parkash_Katha/05_Sri_Guru_Arjan_Dev_Ji/Giani.Inderjeet.Singh.(Raqbe.wale)--Sooraj.Parkash.Katha.-.Ras.03.Adhyai.11.-.Sri.Amritsar.Vapas.Ayi.-.1994-09-26.mp3 Bhul chuk maaf

    Talibanisation Of Sikhi

This has happened because of our own fault. Not long ago there was a case in Amritsar where a sikh girl with a dastar was refused admission. This kind of confusion is becoming evermore quotodian not only in India but all over the world! How can we expect the world to know who sikhs are when there is no homogeneity in this religion? When we tell people as sikhs we have to wear a dastar and the five Ks the immediate response is but they have a friend who is a sikh also and does not wear a dastar or the five Ks! If we tell them we are suppose to keep our hair uncut and have a beard, again the immediate response to this is, they know someone who is also a sikh and does not do the same!! During my lifetime I have seen people that call themselves sikhs but don't have a clue who they actually are! If all sikhs did the same thing outwardly at least then people of this world will not be so confused about who we are. Is there no law in India to protect the sikh identity you can resort to? What kind of a democracy is India when it openly violates your right to practice your religious beliefs and be who you are? Would they have stopped a woman or man wearing a bright red tilak on their forheads, or a geneyoo on their pot bellies or even a half skirt over their legs ie a thotti? The unpurrtta in this religion is on a grand scale and till this is sorted out I am afraid you are at the mercy of everyone and anyone! We have to end vacillating and put our message across loud and clear as to who sikhs are and what are the tenets of their religious teachings. I don't see this happening anytime soon though.

    Talibanisation Of Sikhi

You know during the British colonization of India many sikhs and hindus were depicted as inferior idiots, so, I won't believe anything they depict or print. Why do you have to wear a 'parna', a 'patka' or a 'chunni' to keep your heads covered while playing sport or going about your daily errands? Think, how do they play gatka and ride and jump high on the horses with their dastars intact in India on basaakhi celebrations? Did the Guru ji's brave fauj fight their battles with patkas, chunnies and parnas tied on their heads? I am sure even they had to make sudden and unexpected movements with their limbs in the battlefields during the wars! I think the only time their dastar came off was when they were killed and not before that!! Making excuses and laziness is not very constructive and if a sikh can't handle a dastar on his or her head, how can they handle life and its problems without losing their cool? It is our apathy that makes us substiute our dastar with parnas and the likes. I will never show my face to the world without my dastar on whether I am playing cricket, football, hockey or skiing on the slopes of Switzerland or Whistler!
