harsharan000 got a reaction from SinghSingh in Types of Dand (Punishment)
    Brother,
dhand in simple words,is being away from Wahiguru.
Cause being away from Him, means being in the Chaurasee Ka Chakar, being in any joonee. Be it tree, insect, reptile, fish, mamaals, man, or even in any celestial paradises.
You see, to be away from one´s True House(Sach Khand), True Father(Wahiguru Akal Purukh), is a punishment by itself.
And He is not to be blamed, it is all our fault.
He tells us only one thing throughout the whole Bani, to free ourselves from the creation where Maya and Kal have spread their tentacles, in which all of us are imprisoned mercilessly, and that one thing is:
    Ik Oankar, Satgur Parsad, Jap.
    Saas Saas simroh Gobind.
Prabh ka Simran, sabh tay oochaa.
So let us sincerely ask ourselves, do we really do what our Guru Sahibans tell us in the sacred, pure and paviter Bani?
Or do we do many other things according to our beliefs, and mental state ....
Then dear sangat jee, how can we ever blame our beloved Wahiguru?
It is we who are mugadhs, moorakhs, for not following Gurmat.  You see, the Bani is so perfect, that even if we follow it without understanding it properly, but faithfully, it will do us the same good effect within us, because, the Bani is not man made, but are direct instructions from Wahiguru Akal Purukh, for our true benefit, of cutting our heavy chains from this world and its objects, and at the same time, tying ourselves with Him, through His Naam.
Sikhee is the most simple and direct path to Wahiguru, but alas we ignorants have politizied it, and added ritulas and dogmas, and a big list of additives just as in the other religions, thus we have thrown away the essence, the primal Truth of Sikhee away from our sight, and if by chance anyone dares to talk about it as it is, in simple words, that person becomes suspicious in our eyes as an antisikh, and thus we make mockery of that person, or ridculize him.
But nevertheless, it is by His Grace, His Hukum, that Gurmukhs keep coming and dwell among us, to just remind us of our true spiritual nature, and the simple way to apply it in this very human life and fulfill the objective of human birth, and that is to merge, our tiny jot of our souls, in the Aad Jot of Akal Purukh, through the support of His Naam alone,  and not by any other method.

harsharan000 got a reaction from Premi in Why Young Generation Not Going To Gurudwara Sahib
As Kaliyug is moving forward, the wind of Maya is blowing harder.

People of younger generations seek intelctual satisfaction, as time moves forward, children of each generation is moving more into intelctual levels, means they do not want blind faith. When we were young, we used to play with marbles or fly kites and so on, now since they are born, they are surrounded by technology, with smart phones, tablets, computers. I remeber a few years back, my cousin´s son, who was hardly 2 years, was handling an iphone like an adult, was dialing his dad´s number and sending messages, which even I can not do today, or maybe I will be able to do it after taking me some time, and these youngsters, they do everything(technology) very fast.

Their sat antenas(minds) catch, grasp, grab, everything which happens in front of their eyes.

So naturally, in this tech age, they want answers with sense and logic, as in this field, everything is done with the aid of science, which works, and is sustained on logic. Because that is how the sciences of this world work.

In the worldly sciences, first we learn(theory) then we work on it.

While in the spiritual science, first we need to work(bhajan bandagee), then only we get the knowledge or gyan.

So while being in this world, we have to keep a balance, between swarth and parmarth, and explain the truths to the youngsters in a simple and a natural way, without scaring them, or trying to impose on them, because that will make them rebels, and create adverse feelings for the path. So we should talk to them as friends, because that is how they are used to, and then give them space to digest and assimilate the truths of the Bani, slowly but gradually.

harsharan000 got a reaction from Kaur10 in The Ringing Sound (Anhad Shabad; Sound Current)
As Lucky Jee said, one should start with the Simran/jap. But one should keep in mind that the simran is needed for concentration and focusing one´s dispersed attention.

One may ask, o.k, but concentration for what?

Well, for the only purpose to concentrate that much sufficient , as to perceive the inner reality, and Nam or Shabad.

Throughout the teachings, we know that Wahiguru, is in reality nothing, but Shabad. And as such infinite conscious energy, which has Jot as refulgence and blissful sound, as its manifestations in those spiritual realms, especially more as such, in Sach Khand.

So repetition of Gurmanter or Nam Simran, has a purpose to fulfill also. It is like a rubber ring we put to a child, to learn to be in the water, and be an aid to learn swimming.

Once the child learns swimming and has become familiar with the water with continuos practice, it does not need the rubber ring anymore. The child jumps directly into the water (swimming pool / beach) and starts swimming in a natural manner.

All our preparations in Simran or meditation, are also for preparing and purifying ourselves, in order to catch hold of that Sound which is constantly reverbating within, and to ultimately go with it by mounting on it, and in the end, to merge into it.

So instead to ignore the sounds you hear, rather be thankful to the Lord Wahiguru, for blessing you to listen His voice (sound/s).

    May God bless you.

harsharan000 got a reaction from Premi in What is Naam?
    What is Naam?
Nam is the only eternal, permanent and changeless Truth, rest is all maya.
That is why Guru Nanak Dev Maharaj tells us right from the begining : Sat Nam.
It is the Supreme Truth, in the sense all else changes and is subject to fade out one day.
This Nam is also the creative power (Karta Purukh) of all that exists, seen or unseen, and also the sustainer of all that exists.
One ray of this Truth in anything made from the 5 tattwas, gets life, gets consciousness, right from the vegetable kingdom up to the realms of trinities, devtas, gods, godessess...etc.....far  much beyond all this is Sach Khand, the permanent abode of that Nam, Shabad, Waheguru Akal Purukh, where that Supreme Power retrieves when Parlay and Mahaparlay takes place, until that Power by His own will/ Hukum, wants to create again.
This power fears none and has no enemies, (Nirbav  and Nirvair), needs of nothing and nobobody to exist, it is Saebhang, means self sufficient, then it is not subject to any births and deaths (Akal Moorat).
This very power, when it retrieves from anyone, we say it is dead.
When it retrives from any gross creation to the realms up to Brahmand, we say Parlay takes place;  then when it retrieves from the the finer realms below Sach Khand, we say Maha Parlay takes place, and then, this power beyond our limited intellect, remains abosrbed in Itself.... until as said before, He wishes to expand and project Himself and create the Creation, but of course nothing can be said before hand, for it is all His Mauj, that´s it.
Any minnimum description or mahanta of this Nam, is just impossible, for even the gods, devtays nor trinities, do not know anything about Him.
But it is by His kirpa, that we can recognize and merge in Him.
In this respect, the Bani says:
Ik Oankar Sat Nam, Satgur parsad jap.
Which means, there is only one Lord Creator, which is the True Nam, and which is realized by His kirpa alone,  with its Jap, as seen in the verse below
    ਨਾਮੁ ਲੈਤ ਪਰਗਟਿ ਉਜੀਆਰਾ ॥
    Naam Laith Paragatt Oujeeaaraa ||
Repeating the Naam, the Divine Light blazes forth.

His Simran sholud be done exculsively to meet Him. Wishing for anything else apart from Him, is done by the mind, not by the soul.
And because of that, we get entangled in karams, and thus our soul is dragged into the wheel of 84.
We have read: Jevaad Aap, tevad Teree daat.
So what is that His great daat as Himself? Means, He gives us Himself entirely. He is a bountiful merciful giver, and our well wisher also.
So He can never ever give us any such thing to bind us in the creation.  And about the so called wishes or desires you mention, you see,  through His Simran, all of them get dissolved, howsoever low our intentions maybe.
Does not the Bani say: Naam japat, trishna sabh bujee hae.  You see, Naam simran, is a powerful purifier cleanser, which if applied on us, will remove all our impuritiues, of which we may not be aware even, but guaranteed, we shall be pure enough to merge in Him.

Not much to be said or added, but If summarized, it could well be done in  the following 2 points:
    1) Have no attachments to any materialistic creations, be they of any kind such as of family, possesions, wealth, etc .... for all are temporary and perishable in time and space, and clinging to them, is the reason of our pain and misery
    2) And as seen in the 2 lines below,  establish a true and a  strong everlasting relation with Him, by lovingly meditating upon Him, for He alone is the only ONE and ultimate changeless Truth at all times, the source of true bliss.

    Soulfinder Jee,

Nobody can satisfy other´s hunger. If you are hungry, you have to eat and masticate the food morsels by yourself, in order to satisfy your hunger.
In that respect, waheguru has kept within all of us in same measure, the wealth of Nam, it depends on each of us, as how much dhanvaan we want to become, by gathering that true wealth of Nam within us, to which there is no limitation, nor any taxation deducted by Kal upon that income.
    Sarb rog ka aukhad Nam.
Do His chintan, His bhakti, as much as possible, and all our sins shall get washed gradually, thus our suffering will start diminishing. Remember our pain, our failures, our success, or be it any other thing, is due to our own karmas; but anyhow, the all mercifull Waheguru has also given us the medicine of His holy Name to be taken as much as possible, in order to nullify all our karmas.

This is verily a universal Truth.
But how do we get that bibek?  That Brahmgyan?
For as the Bani says: ekas bin sabh dandh hae.
This means apart from Him, no gyan is True gyan, thus ever possibly had.
So in order to get that real gyan, we have to go to the source of that true gyan and bliss, which is none other than He, Wahiguru Himself.
And, then how can we reach Him? Is it by pilgrimages, recitations, fastings, jap, tap, poojas, paath, or any other outer actions/karam/deeds?
Gurbani for that purpose gives us the solution beyond the reach of any  mind, it says:  jin Har japeeya, se Har hoeeya.
Forget any gyan sikh brothers/sisters, rather Guru Jee says, if we follow His instructions of that highest bhakti, we become Him.
What else is then left to be achieved? Nothing. Our braham has been broken into pieces, for we have become Brahmgyani, by merging our surtees in Him.
That is the beant wadeeayee of Gurbani.

harsharan000 got a reaction from Arsh1469 in 5 Pyare: selected by the Guru?
    Part 2:
Let us imagine the following scene, when Tenth Patshahee asked for  the heads, there maybe let us say around 100.000 people, and let us imagine, all of them were ready to really give their heads .... but frankly speaking, if that was that easy to give one´s head, and aquire the right to enter Sach Khand, even then it would be a cheap bargain for all of us.
But the thing is, the laws made by Akal Purukh at the time of creation, can not be altered even by Him, not that He can´t, but He wouldn´t do so.
He is not like our corrupted politicians or managers, who manipulate the laws and orders according to their own benefits.
What example would He be giving, by going against His own Hukum?  He is merciful, He is Graceful, He is Dayal Purukh, He is an infinite Ocean of virtues, but definetely not a cheater...
Moreover according to Gurmat, our Guru Sahibans have to come to redeem our souls. When they themselves had to leave their physical bodies here, what for, would they want our physical heads ... you see these mahapurukhs, whenever they do or say something, there is always a deeper meaning in it, which we moorakhs usually never catch ... It is by our association with  them, that we come to comprehend their real status.
The Bani says many things, like we are here due to our karmas, and we are trapped by Maya, mind and Kal.
And on the other side, even if we maybe in the physical nearness to any Bhagat or Guru Sahiban, but this our nearness does not change our reality mentioned above, and there is a natural way to overcome all this .... Or better said, a process of going through, before we achieve any purity.
It is an act of Grace, from Wahiguru, if we ever come in the company of any such True Gurmukh, but the fact remains, that to cut all our worldly attachments, karmas, etc, we have to drink the medicine of Amrit within us, there is no other way.
And to have and  drink this Amrit, there is no such magic stick to be waved. Rather we need a lot of Grace first from Wahiguru, and then we have to do a lot of devotion as per means of Naam Simran. And Wahiguru is so Graceful, that, He has blessed us with the understanding, that physical nearness with a Gurmukh is very good, but not essential.
Because that what is going to bring the changes for good in us, is by working on their teachings of True devotion, which will make us have their darshan within us, and this darshan of a Gurmukh within, is what counts, as we have spiritually become near to them. it is this darshan which will wash our sins, it is this darshan which will make us pure, it is this darshan which will lead us to Him, because no Gurmukh, Brahamgyani or Guru sahiban is the physical body, rather as first Patshahee has said, they are the manifestations of the Nirankar Shabad Dhun, from there they emerge, and in it, they merge along with whosoever catches hold of their "pallav".
That is why, Guru Jee said: Shabd Guru, surat dhun chela.  This is their real swaroop, and it is to this swaroop which even the full Brahmand of souls attach themselves  with it, that swarop of Guru Jee can ferry across the bhavsagar, any number of souls.
So sangat jee, if ever any Guru Sahiban asks us for our heads, we should be ready for it willingly, as all our life is an offering to them; but I doubt, any Guru Sahiban will ask us to do so, because as said in the post above, they are more interested in us offering our minds at His Lotus Feet, so that we can easily merge in them, and then altogether in Him, and become His one more pyare, nay not only that, but one with Him, what else can we want sangat jee?
So much daya meher, so much bakshish, on us sinners....
    Sat Sree Akal.

In my humble opinion, giving one´s head, is quite difficult for anybody.
There may be a purpose, why Guru Jee told of giving their heads.
Bu I also believe, as a general rule, it is asking us to not lean on our minds, but, to trust Him, to give Him our haume, our ego, which is in our minds.
Because only by giving our haume, our manmat, and vacating our mind from it, can we follow Gurmat implicitly, and totally drench ourselves with His Naam.
Guru Jee does not need our physical heads, He is Sachay Patshah, He can make even the stones carry out His orders. But as a spiritual redeemer, He tells us to leave our haume aside and dedicate ourselves in full faith and devotion, to His Naam, by His Simran, in which lies our spiritual growth and welfare.

He goes to the extent, that if we moorakhs still do not have it clear the supreme importance of Nam alone, let us have a look at His words below:

    ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਸਭ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਛਾਰੁ
    Naam Binaa Sabh Dhuneeaa Shhaar
    नाम बिना सभ दुनीआ छारु
Without the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the whole world is just ashes.

    Pathith Paavan Prabh Thaero Naao
    पतित पावन प्रभ तेरो नाउ
Your Name, God, is the Purifier of sinners.

We may use different methods, different recipes of worships to clean all the filth of our sins, but here Guru Jee, is telling us, that the devotion of Nam bhakti of Wahiguru, is the one which purifies us, nothing more, nothing less.

Everything else is "braham", is agyanta....is koor, is fanah....

Suppossing if one is dirty, naturally one will grab the soap as soon as possible to wash oneself.... one is not going to wait for the municipality members to come and with a protocol procedure give us a soap which is already in our house, then we will say, now we can wash ourselves ....is it not illogical to think so?

Is His Name not the same within everybody just as like in us?

Maybe worldy soaps, are of different makes, different smells and prices.... But the spiritual soap(Nam) which washes all our sins, is kept by Wahiguru within each one of us in equal measure, of same value and smell.... And that spiritual soap, is none other than His Naam Simran

If we lack anything, that is a clear thinking. that is why we are so much engaged and busy in putting more dirt on us, rather than washing ourselves with His Naam. For this very reason, the Bani says: without devotion to Nam, everything else we may do, is like decorating a dead body.

Just let us see the whole scene , the soap is already in our house(our own body) kept by the house owner(Wahiguru), then why to wait for outsiders to come and tell us, please use the soap now and you may have a bath.....

    is it not ridiculous ?

If we do not use the soap as soon as possible while alive without waiting for anybody, so if death call us, we may die dirty, so let us be wise and use the soap of His Nam as soon as possible, to clean ourselves in time, and achieve mukti, not otherwise.

    Waheguru.

Bhagat Kabir Sahib in Raag Ramkali, beautifully tells us that :

    ਬਿਨੁ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਕਤ ਨਾਹਿ
    Bin Simaran Mukath Kath Naahi
    बिनु सिमरन मुकति कत नाहि
Without this meditative remembrance, liberation will never be found.

He clearly tells us, do whatever you want, and go wherever you want, thinking one is perfoming devotion.....

But the fact is, that outer devotion has no spiritual pull, because if it was so, surely it would have been an aid for us, in our approach to Him ....

So in order to remove any misunderstanding we have as per which is the highest devotion to be practiced by us, Guru Jee again and again warns us throughout the Bani, by reminding us of this jugtee:

Awar Kaaj tere kiteh na kaam, mil Sadh Sangat, bhaj kewal Naam ...

Prabh Ka Simran, Sabh te oochaa ....

That is why, Kabeer Jee, further, on this very Raag tells us :

    ਜਿਹ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਹੋਇ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਦੁਆਰੁ
    Jih Simaran Hoe Mukath Dhuaar
    जिह सिमरनि होइ मुकति दुआरु
Remembering Him in meditation, the door of liberation is found.

Now, different thing is, if we do not want to become one with the Lord Wahiguru yet in this very life ..... So naturally we will do many other things, but for His Simran, we shall give excuses ....

Let us ask ourselves, who is important for us?

The world and its opinions, or Wahiguru?

I am sure, many with their mouth wide open, will naturally say Wahiguru.....

But then, if Wahiguru is the answer, why do we care so much for what the world says or does?

Why do we not do explicitly, what our Guru Granth Sahib Maharaj tells us to do throughout the whole Bani?

We must bear clearly in our minds, it is our bodiless soul, which has to merge in Him. And this merging in Him, is only possible, when the mind gets purified by His Simran.

In this way, it looses its grip on the soul; then only our soul proceeds in full force with the Shabad Guru, towards its true Home, Sach Khand.

So, Wahiguru is our end, and in order to reach Him, His Simran, is the only path to reach Him. All other methods, paths, practices, gurantee our continous enchainment with the perisahble world, through chaurasee ka chakar....

    Moreover Bhagat Kabeer says:

    ਐਸਾ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ
    Aisaa Simaran Kar Man Maahi
    ऐसा सिमरनु करि मन माहि
Practice such meditative remembrance in your mind.

    ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਆਵਨੁ ਨਾਹਿ
    Fir Fir Thaeraa Aavan Naahi
    फिरि फिरि तेरा आवनु नाहि
And you will not have to be reincarnated over and over again

The words of Guru are eternal Truth, they never go in vain. Throught the ages, they say, do His Simran or meditate on Him with such love and devotion, that, by doing so, one will break the cycle of births and deaths, once and forever....

    Waheguru.

    Waheguru.

Acheiving mukti is only possible by becoming one with the one who is Akaal and Ajoonee just as the Bani says.

And this Akaal and Ajoonee, supreme being is none other than Wahiguru Himself.

So the question is now how to become one with Him?

For that purpose, the Bani also gives us the precise answer.

The Bani says: Jin Har japeeya, se Har hoeeya.

So you see, in the end, it is His Simran, which purifies us from our sins, sanskars, vikaars..... and which makes us worthy to merge and become with Him.

And that is possible by His grace alone.

That is when the Bani says: Jevad Aap, te vad teree daat. Means, this is the best bakshish He can shower on us.

Of course from such a High being like Him, less can not be expected. He gives us Himself to us, when pleased with our bhakti, which also, is not done by us with our efforts, but by His grace alone.

Gods, godesses, avataars, can give us Baikunth, riches, comforts, kingdoms, possesions ....but mukti from the cycle of births and deaths, only He can give us, and that also not by wavering a magic stick like a jadugar, but, by sincerely applying each and everyone of ourselves to the jugtee of Naam Simran.

    Waheguru.

    Congrats Bro,
you are definetely on the right track with the right attitude.

Devotion is done for that purpose alone, to get dissolved our ego, and then when we are not, only He exists, He is there... this is the secret of ruhaniyat.

Keep on you devotion in that way, never give up, in any conditions....

Then surely one day, with His grace, you will find yourself in His lap....

    Waheguru.

A family was consuming Vitamin C, B, Zinc, drinking Kadha etc to enhance their immunity.
Their neighbour, who was aware of this, after some weeks, asked them about any improvement. They replied:
Earlier, when we quarrelled, we used to get tired in an hour. Now we can go on for 5-6 hours😳

Husband to wife :- Today is a fine day
Next day he says :- Today is a fine day
Again next day, he says same thing - Today is a fine day
Finally after a week, the wife can’t take it and asks her husband :- Since last one week, you are saying this ‘today is a fine day’. I am fed up. What’s the matter?
Husband :- Last week when we had an argument, you said, “I will leave you one fine day”.

harsharan000 got a reaction from Premi in Types of Bairaag (Vairaag)
As seen in the above posts, it is true there maybe many types of bairag.
Bairag basically means dettachment from something. It also means awareness awakened.
But the thing is we sholud not get confused with the different types of bairags.
Our main concern is, to realize we are away/separated from Wahiguru, and trapped in this mayavee creation.
And then the next step is to take the benefit of that state as soon as possible, we do not know how long that state may remain in us, so while in that state, we must start doing something which can fill that void of being away from Him, and  as said before, doing something which may take us to the other side of the shore, means attachinh ourselves with His Nam.
No attachment can create any dettachment, it is only by dettachment that we can attach ourselves to something far better and eternal, like Wahiguru, and that is is His Naam alone.
As some beloved one of Wahiguru has said:
attachments gradually slacken, as one begins to enjoy mediation of His Naam. With the inner bliss that one experiences, all worldly pleasures and atachments begin to appear less attractive and important.

    Brother Maha Paapi,
the whole world is drown in kaam, rarely is someone as a gurmukh far above it.
We all make mistakes, but we have to learn from them and not commit them again, because if we have commited once,  and we sincerely repent for it,  and ask Him to forgive, then He is bakshanhaar, sad Mehervaan, He will surely forgive us.
But then, we have to bear in mind, that we have promised to Someone who is omniscient and omnipresent, and we should never ever commit those mistakes, for He is not a person whom we can fool.
So be careful in that sense, that is it.
Now relax and do not hurt yourself any more with distress, be thankful to Him that at least you feel guilty and want to become a better person, and in order to relief yourself  love Him from the bottom of your heart, and increase it by listening/reading His katha and keertan, plus wash your mind with His purifying simran on a regular daily basis.
    Stay blessed.
