Schizophrenia and Sikhi

Mental illnesses do exist bro. Even Ayurveda has medications for them. Maybe some of the medications prescribed by the Big Pharma have serious side effects in the long run, but some medications might have benefits (if used for a short period of time). Bhul chuk maaf -

Thanks for your input bro. Daas has never taken Risperidone, but I came across some comments regarding it in the video which you posted. Eggs are also good for your brain right? Bhul chuk maaf -

Bro, have you stopped consuming Cannabis? Heavy Cannabis consumption (especially THC) is linked to Schizophrenia. Heavy Cannabis Use Linked to Schizophrenia, Especially among Young Men | Scientific American When Shaheedi Degh is being prepared, very small quantities of Cannabis (probably only CBD) is supposed to be added. How do we deal with Indian food smell?
paapiman replied to SriAkaalJiSahai's topic in Chill out Relaxing Zone
Are you based in the West? Always turn on the Exhaust fans when you are cooking/warming your food. Put your work clothes in Garment bags/Closets. That should help a bit. You can spray your clothes with Odor eliminating sprays before wearing them. That might also help. Well, non-Baptized Sikhs (and non-Sikhs) should be allowed to dance. Full ban on dancing might not be a good idea. Also, we cannot force non-Baptized Sikh (and non-Sikh) ladies to keep their heads covered. We can have laws against public indecency, when it comes to clothing. Some other potential laws. Strict laws against racism. casteism, sexism, domestic abuse, etc. Tobacco ban is a must or gradually phase it out like New Zealand is doing. Death sentences for rapists, pedos, terrorists, murderers (first degree), etc. Bhul chuk maaf

@dalsingh101 There are two major Amrtivelas in a day. The first Pehar of night and the last Pehar of night. Sri Reharaas saab is suppose to be done during the First Pehar of the night, while the morning Nitnem (or Naam Simran) should be done during last Pehar of the night. Bhai Chaupa Singh Rehatnama talks about them. IMHO, each Pehar unit changes with season. So in winter, each of the 4 Pehars of the night would be small. For example, if sunset is at 9 pm and the sunrise (the next morning) is at 5 am, then for that particular night, each Pehar of night would be of 2 hrs. Bhul chuk maaf

There is also a chance that you might get to keep your old name (if you want to). Like for example, if your name is Gurjant and the Hukamnama on the day of your Amrit Sanchaar also starts with "G", then you may keep your old name. Bhul chuk maaf
-
If a Sikh's name wasn't based on the first letter of the Hukamnama (which should have been taken after his/her birth by the parents), then the Panj Pyare will give you a new letter (based on the Hukamnama at your Amrit Sanchaar) to choose a new name. Basically, you will probably end up getting a new name. Bhul chuk maaf

If you do decide to go for Amrit Sanchaar, then you might have to change your name. Are you based in the West? Bhul chuk maaf

Try to take a cold shower (including Keshi Ishnaan) before doing Naam Simran. Bhul chuk maaf

How much can you do? Which Jaap or Gurbani Shabad do you like? Do you wake up daily at Amritvela? Bhul chuk maaf

Some more tips (from another topic): Diet control - Avoid spicy food, garlic, eating from outside, caffeine products, etc. Try to eat simple food and do not over eat. Do Naam Simran before and after eating food. Before you go to sleep, recite Sri Kirtan Sohela Sahib jee 5 times, instead of one. Do Jaap of Rakheya de shabad. This won't take much time. Keep playing Gurbani on an audio player, while you are asleep. When you wake up, immediately start doing Jaap of Mool Mantar or any Shabad which you like. Keep the mala/counter nearby. Engage in physical workouts (or go for long walks), when sexual thoughts attack. Wash your hands, feet and face with cold water (or take a cold shower), when sexual thoughts attack and then start doing Naam Simran. Start listening to Katha and Kirtan, when sexual thoughts attack. For most people, one can concentrate in them, better than Naam Simran/Nitnem. Start playing a game or watching a documentary or engage in any other activity, which can assist you in diverting your mind away from sexual thoughts. Please see the topic below too: Bhul chuk maaf
