Muhammad Siddique and Habib alias Shela, who are both believed to be in their eighties, were separated in 1947, when British rule ended in India and it was divided into two independent regions - India and Pakistan.   At least 20million people were displaced during the largest mass migration in human history in 1947, while visas between India and Pakistan have remained difficult to obtain since.   But the two brothers were reunited in Kartarpur, Pakistan, after Habib travelled from the Phullanwal area of the Indian Punjab to meet his younger brother Saddiq, who lives in Faisalabad, Pakistan, local media reported. Heartwarming footage shows the moment the two men laid eyes on each other at the Kartarpur Corridor - a visa-free border crossing between the two countries that opened in 2019.   In the clip, the two brothers walk towards each other before bursting into tears of joy as they throw their arms around each other in a tight embrace. As they hold each other, one of the brothers says: 'Don't cry, don't worry, we've finally reunited after all these years, don't cry.'   The brothers both wipe tears from their eyes as they finally reunite, with the emotional moment seeming to overwhelm them. After reconnecting with his brother, Habib praised the Kartarpur Corridor for helping to reunite families who have been separated for years, according to local media reports. The brothers were separated during the 1947 partition of India, with Habib growing up on the Indian side of the partition line, while Saddiq lived on the Pakistani side.

+3   William Clegg, 33, claimed he had 'no conscious control' during the mid-air ruckus on a transatlantic flight between San Jose in the US and Heathrow
A west London banker had today been cleared of assaulting five BA cabin crew after taking a cocktail of alcohol and sleeping pills.
William Clegg, 33, claimed he had 'no conscious control' during the mid-air ruckus on a transatlantic flight between San Jose in the US and Heathrow.
He told jury members he had taken two Ambien sleeping pills, along with three glasses of wine and two travel-sized bottles of Baileys, prior to the incident in August 2019.
While under the influence of the drugs and alcohol, Clegg allegedly assaulted five BA cabin crew.
This included attempting to headbutt a female flight attendant, and pulling a male flight attendant onto the ground, a court previously heard.
The banker, who lives in London's pricey Notting Hill district, denied the allegations and has been on trial at Isleworth Crown Court.
Today he was found not guilty on all counts after the jury deliberated for just under an hour, following the four day trial. Clegg gave a thumbs up to his friend's father in the public gallery and broke down in tears as the not guilty verdicts were returned.
In a statement given outside court, he apologised for his actions and criticised prosecutors urging them to 'review their handling of similar cases going forward'.
Clegg allegedly assaulted five BA cabin crew , including attempting to headbutt a female flight attendant, and pulling a male flight attendant onto the ground, a court previously heard Mr Clegg's defence was that his conduct on the BA flight was caused by combining alcohol with two Ambien tablets - the side effects of which he was unaware
'If somebody told me - or had I read the leaflet - and it said there was a one in a million chance of this happening, I would not have taken the pills,' he said.
Mr Clegg was represented by Trevor Burke QC, who previously successfully defended golfer Thorbjorn Olesen, after he was accused of sexually assaulting a woman on a BA flight from Nashville to London after mixing alcohol with Ambien.
The Ryder cup golfer's defence was that the combination of sleeping pills and alcohol caused him to become an 'automaton'.
Mr Burke QC told the jury that at the time of the incident Mr Clegg was working as a merchant banker.
He would regularly fly to clients in Japan and the Middle East, and had taken 90 work-related flights in the year before the incident.
The jury also heard that the former Abingdon school pupil had suffered from nocturnal epilepsy between the ages of eight and 13.
As a result of this period of childhood nocturnal epilepsy, he suffers from insomnia - struggling to get between four to six hours sleep, he said.
A few weeks before the flight, Mr Clegg believes that he suffered a day-time epileptic fit for the first time at a wedding in Majorca.
The incident was witnessed by two doctors at the wedding, his defence barrister added.
Following medical examination back in England, Mr Clegg said that doctors told him to avoid driving for six months.
He then travelled to California, where he and his girlfriend rented a villa with a swimming pool.
He told the jury that his girlfriend also suffers insomnia and takes Ambien to deal with it.
While in California, he accompanied his girlfriend to a doctor in Beverley Hills for her Ambien prescription a few days before he was due to fly home.
He said that at the doctor's office he was offered an Ambien prescription for the first time to deal with his insomnia.
He said his girlfriend often took Ambien after drinking alcohol without any negative effects.
'My girlfriend had taken it numerous times, two to three pills, with or without wine,' he said.
'She is half my size and never had any adverse effects.'
In a statement following the four day trial at Isleworth Crown Court, he said: 'I am extremely relieved at the verdict and would like to thank my legal team Trevor Burke QC and Simons Muirhead Burton solicitors.
'I would like to sincerely apologise to the BA crew involved in the incident.
'My actions were totally out of character, and as the jury, found the result of prescription drugs.
'I would urge the CPS to review their handling of similar cases going forward.
'The medical evidence on which my defence relied was available over two years ago and accepting it then would have avoided the substantial waste of prosecution costs.'
The case bears similarities to that of Ryder Cup winning golfer Olesen who last month was also found not guilty of a series of charges after drinking alcohol, along with taking his girlfriend's Ambien tablet on a British Airways flight.
+3   The case bears similarities to that of Ryder Cup winning golfer Thorbjorn Olesen (pictured) who last month was also found not guilty of a series of charges after drinking alcohol, along with taking his girlfriend's Ambien tablet on a British Airways flight
The 31-year-old Dane said he was 'embarrassed and ashamed' by accounts of what happened on board the flight after he woke up with no memory.
He was found not guilty for sexual assault and assault by beating, while the judge discharged the third count of being drunk on an aircraft.
In 2002, REM guitarist Peter Buck was also cleared of going on a drunken rampage aboard a British Airways plane in which he sprayed flight attendants with the contents of a pot of yoghurt.
The jury found him not guilty of being charged with being drunk on an aircraft, two counts of common assault, and one charge of damaging BA crockery.
He did not deny his behaviour, but claimed an Ambien sleeping pill reacted violently with alcohol - turning him into a 'non-insane automaton'.

"These people (people who think making a speech is a crime) should be sent to London's Hyde Park. They have to hear what is being spoken there. It's crime only if words turn into action. Let's agree that Nellai Kannan spoke. But what crime did he commit?", Chidambaram's tweet read.

that said all this is debatable. I had invented my own words for these. These words were given to me by a Group in the UK/ India trying to create a technical dictionary in Punjabi...my only concern is that they are pushing Sanskrit as the source / base for these words and this may damage punjabi by Hindizing it. Punjabi should be understood on both sides of the border. Maybe the answer is just to write the English words in Gurmurkhi? They may develop into Punjabi like Bicycle did to Saikal

Dude get this right, I had an italian guy complain when I was making turkha... And he's complaining about the odor that it has produced cooking it in the Dojo right. So I asked him to start identifying the ingredients that I'm using, that I put in so far, I haven't even gotten the spices in, so far I have garlic, onion, tomato sauce etc you know...
So he looks in the pot, and he's like well I don't know, so far you just looks like you got tomato, and some garlic, onion...
I'm like you mean like marinara? Lol.
I think it's the odor of people cooking their food that's offensive to anyone, I think it's the odor of someone else's culture that bothers people, even when that odor comes out their very same kitchen.
And while I have found people willing to say ewe curry stinks, what they're saying is you as a person stink because of how you look I've never actually heard anyone walk by an Indian restaurant, and not want to go eat at it. Literally stand there recording audio and hear nothing but a procession of people saying damn that smells good.  The smell of Indian cooking especially to melanin deficient imperials used to eating cabbage is like a mohini drawing you in, and it has done so, so successfully, that it has taken over the restaurant business in the UK. So who is it that doesn't like the curry?

I met a guy who was intoxicated at a big outdoor music event. Partying hard. And taking photos of other people partying and smiling and you know standing next to each other with their drinks and stuff. And when he first noticed, and the first photo he showed me, was when he was taking a photo of a couple girls standing next to each other, there was a ghost, an inhuman ghost behind them bro, a crazy insect-like looking horrible clear as day ghostly apparition.
And he didn't notice it first but a little bit later on the girls asked him to send them the photo and it's when he went to text it to them, he could clearly see what had been standing...well...floating behind them. He's intoxicated so he's like I'm going to try and find this thing some more. So he pops it on video mode and starts scanning through the crowd and sure enough he catches this thing darting in between and around people all of whom seem too intoxicated to realize that it's there while they're dancing. And right before he gets freaked out and turns the video off it looks right at him. And I've heard other people say that they've run into these things at debotched parties, and seen them. I heard a verbal account of a story on YouTube and as the person started telling it well before they got to the end, I knew exactly what they were going to tell me they saw, and when they described what it looked like, it was dead on.
And after he got it's attention, and got scared, he was sitting there trying to ignore it, but it wasn't ignoring him, so he started filming again, and I saw several other clips of this thing getting closer to where he was, and paying him more attention, this guy was shook it had been sometime since he took those photos, but you could tell when he was showing you, that he was still viscerally affected by it. Like looking behind his shoulder when he shows you the video, nervous, sweating, it had an effect on the guy.
