I thought anand karaj ceremony composition itself is discourse(updesh) of self realization to couples rather than affirmation. Affirmation is right declaration amrit sanchar. Discourse does not require submission right way- usually its contemplated upon, deeply understood, practised upon its a process to affirmation-amrit sanchar or process to walk on the path of anand karaj, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th stage is life long process of one married life rather than direct affirmation like many christians do. Updesh is for all, meant to be for all as anand karaj universal message of self realization in stages are universal in nature can be applied by everyone as ultimately Satguru is eternal gyan- its inner universal one god - inner supreme light-knowledge/consciouness within all. Sure from context of being khalsa which should be also encouraged in anand karaj, affirmation is needed and declaration is needed to take amrit and consider sri guru granth sahib ji as our Guru. But from universality/inclusivenss point of view, one can also relate to anand karaj on more deeper and personal level as Satguru is also true(Sat) Guru(pure consciouness/chainta) -iner guru within all. So wit that universality meaning of Satguru/ inclusivness context kept in mind, anand karaj can still be performed continue as a discourse. Whilst we all agree interfaith anand karaj carried out ceremonies and including punjabi anand karaj ceremonies have became a sham or empty ritual but these can turn into great opprutunity for parcharikhs to bring people in sikhi via in stages/ right parchar, than push away people by banning them all together from anand karaj or making it exclusiveness by providing them with no alternatives.

I personally don't think you should enforce rules too much as they would get turn off and go else where, i personally think rather energy should be spent rather doing actually parchar of anand karaj. Why don't you have meeting with couples - at least two session on what anand karaj is before the actual ceremony. And at the anand karaj ceremony, leave with up to Guru Maharaj with ardas.

Just little history- Actually Singh from california approached me regarding creating a sikh based forum sikhawarenss forum back in 2003 on jattworld.com also known as punjabchat.com as both him and i used to post there...He shared his desire how sikhi based platform was much needed after seeing sikhi discussion taking cultural flavor on those websites above. His plan totally resonated with me. It was his idea intially and his platform-hosting etc, i was a moderator back then. But few years down the road. He got busy with other projects he transfer the responsibility to me to handle the website, technical aspects as well moderation. Since then by maharaj kirpa despite of up and downs on sikhawareness i have been doing this seva by maharaj kirpa and maharaj has been very graceful to uplift sikhawareness platform to alternative unique forum.

Interesting example is Buddhism, how it spreads to various asian countries. I think most of monarch kings were influenced by buddhism in asian countries and that itself was factor of buddhism spreading across the Asian continent.
