  8. Now thats more like it,preferance at the end of the day. When come to think of the old "I'm am in the khalsa" line, shows that we actually are Guru Gobind Singhs "roop" image, man of a millions of faces, clothes and shapes and sizes, either way, we all have a part of Guru Gobind Singh in us
  9. too ugly!!! surely my guru can't have looked like that, he's a stallion and a stud and soorma and handsome In some respect you can see why people prefer modern pics, instead of Pihari painters and older images

  15. Akali Phula Singh, joined Maharaja Ranjit Singh in this noble cause. Due to this very reason he was made the Jathedar of Akal Takth in 1807. He was born leader, outspoken such that he would even spoke to Ranjit Singh of his problems. When Ranjit Singh married to a Muslim woman, named Moran of Lahore, Akali Phula Singh, as he was the Jathedar of Akal Takth declared that Maharaja Ranjit Singh is not a Sikh anymore and is a Tankhaiya which means out of Sikhism. He ordered the defendant to be at Golden Temple before the community. Ranjit Singh came and admitted that he had made a mistake. Akali Phula Singh ordered him 50 lashes for Maharaja Ranjit Singh right there. Ranjit Singh took off his shirt and bowed down to receive his punishment, at such Akali Phula Singh asked Community (Sadh Sangat) to forgive the Maharaja who has bowed down in front of the Sadh Sangat for this mistake. And thus Maharaja was pardoned, but not before he promised that he will not marry again. http://www.sikh-history.com/sikhhist/warri...phulasingh.html
  16. Put it this, way back in the days of building up to amrit, the biggest thing i used to think was i can't give up lust and other manly vices ! And for months on end I was begging waheguru for amrit but thought lust must be beaten, and as I wanted to go to india to take amrit ! i thought i can't get rid of lust, so i emailed a good singh and he said, "lust will come and go , and is not really important, but whats more important is giving your head to your guru" This to me was like! BANG ! Turn it on and off when you need too but the aim is wahguru sure enough month later..... AKAAAAAAAAAL ! took the step forward for the big "A"
  17. Thats why in the dals and traditonally people would get married, young, ie: 1) control your kaam level 2) to build the family life cycle 3) also in those days of battle the father may have been killed in war, hence, next generation would have to be brought up by the khalsa mothers i know my own, nunna (grandfather) was married aged 14 to my bibi who was like 11 then she moved into our house when she was 16, reason also being that her habits and mannerisms would mould with the family, as unfortunately these old marriage customs don't happen today, hence we have issues in peoples livings and ideals of marriage, (BOLLYWOOD doesn't help ) of the tangent again, but i feel relevant
