Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki Fateh !!!

Enjoy the 'darshan' of these Beautiful Shastars of the Guru Sahiban and other Historic Shastars.

Akal Takht Sahib - Preserved in the Akal Takht Sahib are the Historic shasters of Guru Sahiban and their beloved warriors.
Unlike the shasters displayed at Anandpur Sahib which are housed in a large windowed structure and can be viewed from all sides - the Shasters at Akal Takht Sahib are housed in a Gold Throne with latticed doors - though beautiful, it makes viewing the shasters difficult, and therefore they cannot be seen clearly or are missed by many of the sangat.
These shasters are ceremoniously displayed to the sangat after Rehras in the Akal Takht.
This beautiful collection of Shasters include The Meeri Peeri swords of Guru Hargobind Sahib- a sword of Guru Gobind Singh - daggers of the sahibzade Baba Ajit Singh and Baba Jujhar Singh - A 10 kilo sword of Bhai Bachitter Singh - A large Khanda of Baba Deep Singh - and a large Khanda of Baba Gurbaksh Singh.

    The Miri Piri swords

Shastar Darshan - this picture is rare as you see the display of the shasters in the original Akal Takht in the late 1970s

The Dumaalley shasters and Chakars of Baba Deep Singh Ji Shaheed

The Katar of Guru Hargobind Sahib (No. 1) and the Katar, kamarkasa and kanga of Guru Gobind Singh Ji (No.s 2 and 3) kept at the Central Museum Amritsar

The sword of Bhai Mehtab Singh - used to behead Massa Ranghar (No. 4)
and the sword of Ranjit Singh used in the Conquest of Kasoor. (No. 5)

    The weapons at Anandpur sahib

The Khanda used at the first Amrit Sanchaar 1699

Guru Gobind Singh Ji's Karpa Barccha

    Musket

The Saif - presented to Guru Gobind Singh by Bahadur Shah - it is believed to have belonged to Hazrat Ali , son in law of the Prophet Muhammed and used by his gransons Hassan and Hussain

The Nagini Barchha of Guru Sahib as used by Bhai Bachittar Singh at the battle at Lohgarh 1700 AD against the Hill rajas - Bhai Sahib struck the drunken elephant which led the rajas' troops in the forehead - making the army retreat in terror.

    GurFateh !

here are a few snippets of info - that maybe of interest.

Unfortunately I can't remember where i copied these photos from - but as I remember they didn't give much information about them - other than that they are from a copy of the Hanuman Natak.

    - The photo of the printed page from a book also didn't give a source - but it does echo akaali' s post (Bahadur Shah gifting Guru Sahib the Hanuman Natak) - as does the entry in Mahaan Kosh (see footnote 2)

Sorry about the vagueness and lack of source ! Enjoy the pics

Perhaps someone can confirm that the pics are of the Hanuman Natak - or may know the source of the printed page extract - or even someone from SA may of even bought it - I have a feeling the pics may of been copied from eBay !

Please post if you have any info

    Here are the pictures ;

    Gurfateh Matheen Sahib !

No description or paintings exist to give a clue as to what the original Darbar Sahib looked like.
Many have argued that as Darbar Sahib holds such a Sacred Place in the hearts of Sikhs, it is unlikely that it's design would have been greatly changed after the Afghan desecrations. Other than the Gold plating, some argue the basic design is unchanged. The lack of any references means we are unlikely to know .

One area to look at is that of the Dukhniwaran Jhulan Mahal.

At Thatte Khera Dist Amritsar there is a sarovar built by Guru Arjan Sahib - the Dukhniwaran Jhulan Mahal ('the sorrow removing, swinging palace) - the name comes from the fact the walls of the pavilions 'swing' when they are shaken. This site is unchanged and gives an insight into how the other sarovers built by Guru Arjan may have looked ( such as the Darbar Sahib, Amritsar)
The buildings are plain brick and lime structures with traces of paintings - such a site needs protection as it is undoubtedly exactly as it was when it was built by Guru Sahib and bears the holy touch of Guru Sahib .

As this site is almost untouched by modern 'Karsewaks' - it may give a picture as to what the original Darbar Sahib looked like.

You can see pictures in this thread - I posted a while ago on SA

This post has no "Hate Filled agenda" -- just a mark of respect to the victims.
Please do not turn this thread into a platform of hate - I just wanted to share some disturbing images from the time - that deeply affected me.
As a 14yr old in England at the time - I couldn't and still cannot imagine what horrors were committed.

    Many Thanks
