  1. everyone translates it as blissful - i know that. that is the whole purpose of this topic, we have got a clash of historians using some tuks to prove their points, while teekakars give it a metaphorical meaning. this is one example.
  2. so could ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਸਖੀ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਗਾਵੈ imply that anand sahib was sung? or does it mean anand as in the actual state of 'bliss'
  3. i dont think these scholars actually consult any teekas. i have seen him do it, principal satbir singh and gs mann do it too. it is from their own understanding
  4. js grewal mentions in his book that guru arjan sang anand sahib at his childs birth by referencing ang 396, which is the shabad I quoted

  6. no old document mentions amritdhari, only sehajdhari and kesdhari, so amardeep is right.
  7. several scholars try to find historical facts in the guru granth sahib. while some are acknowledged even by teekakaars like prof sahib singh, some remain lost due to the metaphorical coloring of the said gurbani shabads. one such shabad is quoted by js grewal to conclude that anand sahib was sung at guru hargobinds birth (a shabad by guru arjan dev). while some of these like gs manns claim that guru arjan had armed guards at harmandar are unsupported historically, others seem reasonably fair. what do you guys think about the shabad in question and many other shabads that can be interpreted historically but often are translated in a philosophical way.
