Well, i was thinking android or apple. I'm not really experienced in this department. Would making a website or a facebook page be easier, you reckon. I'm still trying to refine my ideas. Any suggestions are welcomed.
True veer ji it would be a lot easier to make a facebook plus youtube page as our Late Brother Bhai Jugraj Singh Ji made for Basics Of Sikhi.
You can try all the social media sites even a group on facebook, whatsapp etc.
Android is a slightly better app market for me as i only use android phone and tablet. Plus there a lot more choices on there.
You could add either written articles or distored face videos coming from the victims experinces tales etc.

I watched a video posted by dalsingh regarding sexual grooming. I never realised how big of an issue it truly was sure I'd heard about it but that video really touched me. I realised it is time to speak up. We cannot sit here all hush whilst our women are being groomed!
I want to create an app which will help abused sikh girls to share their stories. I believe it will help them connect with each other, empathise and realise they are not alone. Support is lacking within our community. This app will give these girls a chance to tell their story without shame as they can do so anonymously. I chose the format of an app as it will be easy to access for all and they won't have to disclose their identities, if they don't want to.
The only problem, however, is I do not know how to make an app. It would be great if someone could help me. If you know anything about creating apps let me know. Something is better than nothing and we absolutely NEED to do something!
Veer ji thats a really good idea you have written and planned out.
As this is a really serious problem and the effects will cause a lot of the victims to recall what happened is gonna be a daunting task for everyone involved with the app production.
Where do you plan to release the app on android, apple or windows market ?
As they have different methods coding when writting apps.
Hopefully an IT professional with programming software apps can help a lot as daas remembers reading @jaikaaraveer ji works in the IT industry.

The basics are the 5 bania nitnem for Amritwela and then Rehras and Sohela but as you progress in your santhia, you should start reading more and more bania as posible.
Veer ji you are right as panj bani nitnem is the stepping stone then slowly step by step a person can panj granthi then das granthi after learning panj bani plus rehras ans sohila sahib.

You are 100% correct veer ji. We should teach as much bani and itihas to our youngsters as possible.
The other thing is to give as much love at home so that our youth don't go looking outside for attention especially when they became a teenager.

wow thank you for noting the time down. I love Giani Thakur Singh, he's so direct and funny, and very practical. I heard that katha just 2 days ago. I will watch the other ones.
I first heard heard this shabad when I was little in India. We had a sant at our house, I don't remember who, but I think after that we started doing this shabad every now and then. I feel off sikhi slowly and gradually after I moved to america, I was 10 then. I cut my hair at around 14 age. Now I am 20, about to be 21. Over the past couple years with god's grace I had kirpa, and I feel like the path I did when I was little "came through" lol, and got me through some tough time and very organically pulled me back towards my guru. I feel blessed. Keeping my kesh now obviously and just reading more and more bani and doing this jap.
Daas is glad to help. The timing i wrote was because thats where in the track the katha of the mentioned shabad is done.
Gyani thakur singh does very good katha as i learned many things from his katha and about bani, nitnem etc.
Thats really good veer ji that you are keeping kesh and doing jaap of this shabad you are in the right direction.
You are the almost the same age as i was when i started this shabad. So you are in right paath with what you have mentioned.
So you are based in USA i would love to go there one day as i have only been to Canada as i live in England London lol.

thanks. This morning I did jap with reading the title and it made a difference. I was more focused after every recitation. Everytime I read the title it pulled my focus back. I will start saying rahao as well.
Glad to help veer ji. This shabad is really powerful as all of gurbani is. Dass remembers hearing in katha how one singh did 4 crore jaap and got a lot of shakti ridhi sidhis with this shabad jaap.
Daas can post the katha tracks of this shabad by different Taksali katha vachaks if you would like.

Do I have to read "Gaure Mehla 5" and "rahao" that comes in the shabad, every time, or can I skip it? I have been doing this shabad without reading them. But someone in another sikh forum website said, " So once an innocent man was in prison, the saint told him to do sava lakh of Gauree M5 Thir kar baiso har jan pyaare and you will get out of jail...... but he didnt read the Gauri M5, he just started from the shabad. The saint came to visit him in prison said you must read the heading aswell, today that man is alive he got out of jail at the first hearing."
THanks..
Veer ji daas knows this shabad off by heart and used to read it alot before i got into bani nitnem but still try to sometimes when Guru Sahib does kirpa.
Yes it is very important to read the Gauree m5 part and rahao as thats the way it has been written by Guru Arjan Dev Ji in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj.
The story you have mentioned is i think Sant Gurbachan Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindrawales life that happened. So its true as daas heard this as well.

Not really @Soulfinder veerji. I read his post a couple of days ago and knew I sail in the same boat but honestly I don't have any good solution for him. He's surely at a better position than me, being a man and Amritdhari .. so all I can say is that look veer there are people like me too who long for external Amrit, however aren't lucky enough to get it. So better be thankful than try to change your spouse!
As for me, I have all a worldly woman can ask for. A loving, caring husband ( who takes care of all my Materialistic needs plus cares for all kinds of physical needs too- it's just that he doesn't understand spirituality - he doesn't have that hunger, so he can't relate) who provides for me. Two Lovely kids, non interfering in-laws, very caring parents, siblings.. I mean its just a perfect life otherwise.. tit bits here n there of course are handled and are necessary too.. it wasn't this perfect few years ago.. Dukh became Daaru and I thus became my Guru Sahib's child. I am progressing substantially. My waheguru is on my side! What else I can ask for..
I have accepted my husband's way of living as waheguru ji's hukam and love him that way! As for my bhukh -" I am sure Jin upaayi medni Seyi de adhaar".. aap rakhega! Aap karega! It's his job! I have stopped worrying.
.
Bhen ji you are 100% correct what you have written its true to be thankful to Waheguru Guru Sahib Ji for blessings we currently have rather than think and stress about things we don't have.
All i can say its still best to do ardas and Guru Sahib Ji will do kirpa on both of you and you will take amrit !! Just got to play the waiting game.

Very nice videos soulfinder veerji. He's right we shouldn't expect.
I am glad to share bhen ji as its something that can't forced onto someone its a naturally interest that these things develop.
I remember this as i didn't even at the time know beyond 2 pauris of japji sahib compared to now. It was at the time my mum always saying me to learn japji sahib for years but with Wahegurus kirpa i have gone past that stage now.

@Guru da Singhveer ji you can try to show your wife some of these threads posts that daas made and will help with the problems you have mentioned.
-
@Guru da Singh Veer ji its really sad what you are experiencing as its not a small quick fix problem.
You could try to be a good role model as that i hope will help convince your wife that gurmat principles rehit is the best.
You could also do ardas and ask Waheguru Guru Sahib Ji to bless your wife for gursikh jeevan which Guru Sahib Ji will help.
You can try to get some literature writtings on Guru Sahibs, Mahapursh jeevanis that will help inspire her into adopting gursikh jeevan.
Here are a few relevant tracks i searched which i hope will help as it relates to this thread. I will add more when i find relevant tracks related to this thread
