  1. G Kaur, time for a big BBQ for you to shed your AKJ stigma In terms of eating all parts of an animal, it is a great thing. Nothing should go to waste when you kill an animal. Sabji can be made of the liver, kidneys, lungs, stomach, brain, head and hooves, and even the blood!
  2. According to this site, it is possible lol http://www.singhsabhainternational.blogspot.com
  3. Some fantastic high quality and high level weapons which just showcase how great swordsmen Guru Gobind Singh and the Singhs would have been. Namaskar in their blessed Charan. Hazoor Sahib has vast amounts of collections of weapons in the Gurdwaras and Sangats homes, something which is rare to find in Punjab. It would be amazing to see the armouries of the Singhs when they were during their prime fighting era.
  4. http://www.pcupgrade.co.uk/productdetails.asp?productid=5229&categoryid=271 Is this your board? If its the same one and your not confident with re-installing all the drivers etc then go for a straight swap out.
  5. There is a difference between "entertainment" and grooming/gang rape. There is a difference between promiscious adults and adults targetting 12 yrs olds. I am in no way trying to take away the spotlight from the increasing sex offences committed by Islamically inclined men. My point is that rather then targetting a single community, open your eyes to see that it happens amongst all backgrounds. No race, culture and country is imune to the Rakash Birthi. Shaheediyan, your point that some apneh had a token white girlfriend may have been true back in the day, however, times change, cultures change and views change. Nowadays, it is not uncommon for an apna to be married with a gori, or that they are in a serious relationship. The reason why no apna kept a gori was because they knew the harshness of indian parents and that the marraige would never be accepted, so they played the field with the mindset that it is never going to amount to anything and never committed themselves to a relationship. In the same way, mixed caste marraiges were not allowed by families, however now they are being accepted (albeit reluctantly). The fact is, when communities move from one country to another as they have in the past 50 odd years, mixing of races, relationships will always happen. Similarly, if we look back 20 yrs, there was a smaller percentage of love marraiges within our community due to the culture of how girls were kept, not being sent to university and college, not working etc whereas now girls have the freedom to work, study, go out and this will naturally increase mixing with guys.
  6. Who is to blame? Every person involved in this has a part to play, obviously the guys involved more, however the teenagers who decided to jump in the car with a stranger and indulge in alcohol and drugs should have had a touch more sense. When a car pulls up to anyone you should be wary, more when its a guy to a girl, and even more when its at night. What these guys did is unforgivable and its a tremendous shame that they get such light sentences (2-3 yrs, and will probably do half that) for acts which will affect the victims involved and their families for the rest of their lives. These kinds of crimes are not restricted to any community or religion, organised sex crime happens amongst whites, blacks, Asians, "muslims", "christians", hell i bet it even happens within our own community somewhere in the world. No one, no matter what age should be forced to endure the pshycological trauma that is caused by such acts, what disgusts me more is that it wasnt just a single person who was involved, it was a number of them who were in it together and non of them had the f*cking sense to think "hey bro, this might be a bit wrong inni?".

  8. Just as how all Dharams which originate from India are termed Hindu right? (Refer to Mahan Kosh) The issue about the name change which you rant about every time a discussion on Shastarvidiya appears has been explained on a number of occaisions to you, but you still go on about it. If you refer to the SV website, you will see the number of names which the fighting arts were called, but the most common one is Shastarvidiya. The term Jhatka Gatka was coined by Baba Gyana Singh in the bola which states "Gatka is that which has Jhatka, using one strike recognise that as Jhatka, any other forms recognise as false, flavourless and unripe" If what Niddar Singh teaches in terms of technique is incorrect and made up, then are you stating that what we have within Gatka Akharas is the unadulterated combat arts of the Gurus? Your story about a Nihang decapitating someone is all fine and dandy, but to kill an untrained person with a sword is not a hard thing to do, many Hindus killed Sikhs in the 1984 riots and I doubt they were trained in Gatka. In the past you have claimed that Niddar Singh has copied other arts and made up SV, my request to you was to find videos which show the same principles and strategies, which mirror the same Vidiya which he teaches, including skirmish fighting, formation fighting and breaking, you convieniently didnt reply.
  9. Yes, the double step is not allowed at the start however.
  10. The Elephants are the Castle/Rook - Move in the same way The Horse/Knight is the man on a Horse - Move in the same way The Bishop is a Wazir on a Camel - Moves diagonally but limited to 2 space only. ie you cant kill on step 1 Then you have the Raja and Rani - Raja is the same in movement but if left isolated on the board the game is over. Rani is the same as she can move in any direction, but limited to 2 spaces.
  11. The elephants move in the same way as the knight Try this link to practise http://www.pathguy.com/chess/Shatranj.htm
  12. Chhatranj is basically the earliest form of Chess, slightly different moves and rules make the games strategy different from normal chess. The peices do not have as much freedom as they do in chess, the wazir (queen) can move in any direction but is limited to two spaces. The bishop equivelent can move in diagonals in the same way as normal chess but again he is limited in the number of squares he can jump. When the game starts the pawns arent allowed to move 2 paces. The main difference is if the King is ever left by himself the person loses. Essentially it is designed to encourage strategy and forward thinking in order to trick your opponent, similar to real life battle planning.
  13. What has changed since 1699 that has made a separt Sikh state a neccessity?
  14. I personally dont like Cold Steel stuff, look for some on ebay or arms fairs. Ive picked up some nice peices over the years for cheap. Else theres a few antique shastar websites about which sometimes have the rarer style kukris like the Hanshee. www.oriental-arms.com www.akaalarms.com www.ashokaarts.com I wouldnt recommend carrying live weapons unless you have training in them.
  15. The video had some issue which made it cut short, theres only 3 minutes cut off the end. We will record the video again and upload it in the future. Coming up in the next few days will be a series of videos from when Niddar Singh demonstrated Shastarvidiya to a school run by a senior student of Dr Hatsumi, the first video is already up. The khukri is also definitly one of my fav weapons, nothing beats the satisfaction of using a weapon which has equal qualities of cutting, slashing, thrusting and hacking.
  16. Anyone who has studied shastarvidiya will know how hard it is to copy the surface level and gain success. Real training in done through years of ardous practise and contemplation, refined through constant testing and getting a katapa. Gatkabaaj will shamelessly take what they can, that is a given, but the real mystery and hidden concepts behind the vidiya will never be grasped by them. They can copy as many Shastar Kamals, Namaskars, Bana and weapons etc but the real reason for having such things is the vidiya itself, without it, it is just an empty shell. The release of the videos is not to help anyone train, they are merely a glimpse into the depth that Shastarvidiya practioners should delve into to attain a high level of skill and to allow the wider audience to appreciate that such an art exists among the Sikhs, beyond the sheild bashing, salt blinding, melon cutting and morris dancing shenanigans we have become so accustomed to seeing.
  17. I think its great to have knowledge about survival in the "wild", ie, being able to kill and cook your own food, being able to grow your own veggies, being able to make shelter, being able to source water, being able to make fire etc. What I dont have much regard for is being paranoid over it. Man has grown out of the wilderness, his natural ability to survive will kick in when required.
  18. They aint on youtube due to the 10 minute limit on the videos which makes uploading them in parts a pain. FB allows 20 minutes so it is easier to splice the vids.
  19. The Shastarvidiya group has been updated with a new video demonstrating Salotar Yudh, Stick Fighting within Shastarvidiya. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=26608290120&v=wall#!/group.php?gid=26608290120&v=app_2392950137
  20. I use Amla before wash, and then Badam oil after washing
  21. Shaheediyan, I believe akalisodhi is refering to the "swearing" and refering that SV is not a soft art as in bravado, language, phsycology are used to instill fear/doubt into your opponent. The technical softness you refer to is also correct. The internal generation of energy, momentum, and power is also an aspect within SV in a similar way by using praan, meditation and mantars, but you may not have covered it whilst you was there. Probably the main difference between SV and the chinese idea of chi-gung is that we dont attempt to take swords to the body and hope that some internal energy will prevent a cut lol.
