  1. Good man. You remind me of myself when I was about 23/24 yrs age. Doing the banis was the ignition that got me climbing. I'd say it lay the foundations that gave further discipline and dedication. I maximized the hours and began cutting off from maya with time. This was preliminary for getting all amped and psyched when I began serious years of bhagti.
  2. isn't there relation with the term kirpa and kirpan? It says "no mercy" above , but kirpa= mercy . see below wiki...…. The word "Kirpan" (Gurmukhi: ਕਿਰਪਾਨ ) has two roots - the first root is: Kirpa (ਕਿਰਪਾ ) which means "Mercy, grace, compassion, kindness" and the second root is Aan (ਆਨ ) which in turn means "Honor, grace, dignity". So together the word stands for "the dignity and honor of compassion, kindness and mercy".
  3. Totally get you there. I would never discuss with anyone in person, unless they are more advanced. I've learnt from my fair share of repercussions. On that note, I'd probably say a wee bit more on here because you only know me as DeNiro. But I'm still going to practice restraint and keep energies away from nastiks and sakats.
  4. I get you. A few of my breakthroughs happened in the company of likeminded sangat. Have you or anyone else on here experienced other sangat? as in the mind joining sangat on other planes?
  5. There are a couple of different stages when "red" is experienced. Gurbani has the answers and an abyasee can interpret these for themselves according to levels of proficiency. In short, I know there may be encounters with colors earlier on in the game , and many hopefuls have got lost at these stages. Reason why teachers instruct students to NOT look for colors. I shouldn't be saying too much here since I may face some negative repercussions. Nevertheless, seeing as you all know me as Goodfella DeNiro ……….I can add # If you've seen the clarity of your mind's jot and the prakash of waheguru around you, then once you've crossed the second bhavsagar(after reaching naam), the true color can reveal itself from your own colorless, but illuminated jot... Dear Angie, I've no idea why you made the above comment with reference to my question below. I was asking if any of the pacharaks mentioned the spiritual significance of RED? I had only skipped through and listened to a few snippets for the reasons I mentioned. Problem is there are two sides to the coin here. The topic of red color spiritually has nothing to do with what color you physically wear. The spiritual aspects are the other side of the coin to the physical aspects. When you see Red in maya, then it is NOT the same as experiencing the love of red in turiya avastha. It appears to me, the arguments some people are having are a waste of time because there are two different matters that can't be correlated. I have no idea whether wearing red is good or bad, and have no right speculating that some rehatnama saying so, maybe wrong. If your rehatnama says so, then stick to it. Stay away from red. Respect the rules. Learn to discipline yourself. Red is the heaviest color in maya. It's the most vibrant color coming from white light. I don't see anything wrong with disciplining yourself to stay away from something in maya. End result will make Mind stronger and that's what the game is all about. Gurbani doesn't say whether to wear red or not. One cannot equate the spiritual significance of color red to wearing red clothes. Gurbani talks about Red color on a totally different level. When you start associating it in maya, then it's a whole new ball game. There are many shabads that mention color red, but I can't recall one stating anything about wearing red or not to wear. If someone has interpreted it in that sense, well good luck to them. What do I care anyway? as De Niro famously says " I'm bound for the promised land"
  6. okay,if I understood this correctly...….. The ojas is actually the subtle energy in spinal fluid that travels up and down chakras?? possibly in cerebrospinal fluid(CSF)?? and if so, then this same energy can either be transformed and directed upwards to a perfect God like divine energy or it can be directed downwards without effort like gravity, into dirty/sexual energy ?
  7. So true ha ha. It's well known fact in some areas that youth of certain jatha groups are sexually frustrated & hard up. It becomes obvious from their street lingo and talk as wel as some of them getting caught. A good topic that I've never really pondered much on. I'll probably read further into it now.
  8. What? retarded? It respects it's master and acknowledges who owns it. Dog's can survive very well on their own in their natural habitats like Huskies. But generally, the problem of today's dogs is that they've been too domesticated and yes, they do end up in malnutrition/ill states when abandoned.
  9. Has anyone one of the above pacharaks mentioned the significance of red and what lal rang kisko lagaah is referring to spiritually? Red is an important color and a few thngs happen at that avastha. Most advanced abyasees know this. Have any of the above mentioned it because I'm unable to sit through and listen attentively.
  10. Don't put anyone on a pedestal. Respect anyone who helps you in any way to raise your surti, but don't put them on a pedestal. Yes, gianni is not a brahmgyaani as brahmgyanee is a misused term in my opinion. Brahmgyanee is not referred to a jeev. A jeev/manook with physical body comes to a life end. Brahmygaani is an avastha of the mind. That mind sits in Prakash/turiya avastha all the while. The Sukhmani sahib references are for the brahmgian state of mind and not a physical jeev.
  11. I don't know to be honest but bhai saab has helped encourage huge numbers into sikhi and that;s probably what I try to focus on. But yes, I never quite understood about raagmala because he must have gone through various avstha's where raags are heard and experienced. Some of these levels come quite early after hearing naam and I remember being confused over this issue after I first heard them.
  12. I went a number of times with BA as a courier. That way I'd get the flight for 200 quid single way, whereas it'd normally be 4500 quid. I was a part time student in my 20's in those days. I know what you mean. You go through periods in life where it changes. I've had a number of years when I stayed away from all tv and media entertainment nd just focused on bhagti and finding myself (soul searching like your username) Nowadays, I still enjoy the same movies, but I have a much better perspective and perception. I tend to view them through a lenses of all the characters/actors in their roles, whereas in my youth, I'd be watching through main characters lens only and focusing only on his actions/reactions. Have a tendency to watch anything but seeing it from behind the veil. Currently in U.S.
  13. Admirable write up and explanations of sunn levels. It takes a deep-seated understanding with experience to make head and tails of these topics. I agree with your summaries and they ring true with my practicing. I'll send you a pm to discuss a couple of the climatic finale encounters in line with what some very high kamayee wale singhs have explained to me. I've turned over many leaves in the process, but my ultimate turning point was taking amrit after I started hearing shabad.
  14. Good book, yes. I read it along time ago when I was in a phase of continuous reading, so, I don't recall much of it. Yes I'm a huge fan. Back in the day when Concord used to fly from London to New York, I was lucky enough to chat with him on flight we shared in 1999.
  15. That's incorrect today. Tomorrow, you never know! The high pitched frequencies are what you want to follow. The other sounds you hear are pavan shabads or non-anhad. The panj anhad shabad in unison are heard in sunn. Suffice to say, you are not experiencing those from what you mention. Seems like you are jumping ahead of yourself. Need to be careful because trying to jump ahead is too easy and you can end up wasting months and years. There s no such thing as yogic anhad or gurmat anhad. Anhad is anhad, period. You need to put attention to saas saas and the primordial sound. Its no good me jumping ahead and telling you the higher rungs of ladder. You need to climb the lower paurees with confidence and determination.
  16. 1) Where are you hearing these in unionization? I mean, where is your mind settled? 2) There should be 2 other things happening at the same time if you can hear the final sages of panj shabad. .. if nothing else is happening, then they are most likely pavan shabads, UNLESS, you are getting mixed up with the ringing sound which is like baseline shabad?
  17. they are good books but they can easily be misinterpreted and not understood. Especially if one is reading whilst on the bhagti marg path. I found, along with some other abyasees, that there were some serious errors. especially when it came to "anhad". In my opinion, the book by "bandiginama " bhai Ragbir Singh was more helpful. As I was making the efforts on journey, I referrd back to the book a dozen times and always found something new to relate to, whereas i didn't with other books.
  18. Do you mean when 5 shabad are all heard together? This is a short stage that occurs before you enter the gurudwara inside you. The 5 shabad should be recognizable from earlier levels of avastha. At that time, your mind wasn't quite still or in sunn and they would have occurred separately. At the guru's dwar, the panj shabad sound, and by now you should have killed the 5 dhoots as well. It's just a momentarily occurrence in unison before the sound of loud anhad toor comes. I've know a few fellow abyasees who have got to the these 5 shabads and then got scared or pulled back when they heard the toor. A gurmukh advised that it's because their foundations weren't solid enough and needed more hours listening to shabad.
  19. Whatever gyani says, has to be taken with a pinch of salt. It's a well known fact that he is gappi and likes to exaggerate. As for the allegations, ..and the incidence,.. I do know who the family is and some of their relations. I can't say on here who they are, but they have a well known business around wednesbury/wolverhampton area in West Midlands. Regardless, Gyani jee has done some good kathas in the past but I don't listen to him any longer, and stopped many years ago. on my personal scale of whether I would make effort to go listen to him, i'd say 2/10. Whereas for someone like Baba Darshan Dakki sahib..it would be 11/10..
  20. Excellent! "there's 3 ways of doing things around here: the right way, the wrong way and the way that it's supposed to be done"
  21. cats are a bad choice for pets. They are not like dogs. A dog trains to respect, protect and answer to his owner. The owner becomes master and the dog obeys. Cats, on the other hand, don't like to respond to humans. Even if you give them a name, the cat will only respond or come to you if it feels like it. Mostl, when you have some milk or plate of food.. Cats just use humans. They wander off and roam the streets all day just pissin about making territories, they ONLY come back when its time to slep or eat some grub. What do I think of cats? … dirty, arrogant, manipulative, don't respond to "no", evil little monsters.. Koreans and Vietnamese got it right. They don't keep cats as pets, they cook'em up and eat them.
  22. good man. Seeing aura comes as avastha. Happens before you start seeing prakash around you. Early on in thread it's mentioned that you should feel the auras and their vibrations. I agree. I found it was also good practice to still the mind, since you can only see aura once the mann is tikkya in one place.
