  1. His teacher isn't Niddar Singh is it? Why do you want to know?
  2. I suggest this case is taken to the Sikh Coalition: http://www.sikhcoalition.org/ They fight against the injustices of Sikhs.
  3. I can't believe what i'm hearing, some of my own friends say its not even important to keep your hair or carry shastar, its inside which counts. When i hear people say this, it really does show that we are in kaal yug, these people are distorting Sikhi...by saying this your throwing everything back in Guru Gobind Singh Ji's face for which he sacrificed everything for. I agree its whats inside which counts but the external side is equally just as important. To carry shastar is not only to protect one self, but to protect all others around you also.
  4. If you believe there is one God (Ek-Onkar), which is a fundamental concept of a true Sikh, then interracial marriages arent an issue as we are all a part of him, he is everywhere and everthing, including us. To denounce a marriage based upon religion, race, or caste is to reject this concept, therefore, not being a Sikh.
  5. I totally agree Rups. The Conclusion to this topic is then to respect Gurbani because if you show no respect towards it you cannot love it & without love it remains meaningless. You show respect towards your parents because you love them, the same principle applies towards Gurbani, it offers more than your parents will ever be able to offer so how much respect do you show? The answer is you can never show enough respect.
  6. You have to respect gurbani, aint no two ways about it - its not a grey issue & it is a black and white one - its common sense, think about it, end of discussion.
  7. Where can i buy his albums? Or download them?
  8. I have never been into kirtan or have gone out my way to listen to it, it was always hip hop, r&b, garage, that kind of stuff. One day my mate played his kirtan in the car & now i cant stop listening to it, its awesome - you really have to listen to it carefully & full heartedly to appreciate how good it really is, now when i play hip hop or R&B i think what is this s!*&. Excuse my French. Is Bhai Balbir Singh a Nihang?
  9. What about the saroops of the rest of the Gurus?
  10. I head the original whole boliyan before, very explicit - these guys are jokers man.
  11. If the turban ban goes ahead and other countries follow - i'm sure it will only mean more people will end up keeping their kes, this is the effect 1984 had on people, nothing to worry about.
  12. Yo, i never heard of Baba Nand Singh before man - looks like he was on some next level, nice website. So singh your saying thats actually what Guru Nanak Dev Ji looked like?
  13. Personally, i think new age Sikh isnt even Sikh but someone from a different faith hiding behind his user name, his theory is a common one which muslims try to argue, but we heard it all before. What is for sure was that Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaaj was Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Your theory does not make sense, please dont make a mockery out of the 5K's.
  14. There used to be a time where if a person was to see a Singh or a Singhni, they would feel honoured, blessed & protected. Its sad how we have let this reputation slip in the space of a hundred and fifty years or so, this was the reputation we our Gurus gave us at the cost of their lives as well as millions of others, we sit back & let Bollywood make a mockery of this, would our Gurus be proud of us today?
  15. I don't know about you guys but i was really dissapointed with this programme man and i was really looking forward to it. Considering 400 years of the Guru Granth Sahib has just recently passed and the BBC were well aware of this, they produced something which showed nothing related to it and was really low budget, it didnt look as if they put much effort into it at all. They also used some really poor examples of Sikhs like Sonia Deol and the Sikh Historian who both said it doesnt matter whether Sikhs keep their indentity or not, its whats inside which counts. These kind of people are not educated on Sikhi, its not their fault but why should they be allowed to represent us when their knowledge is so poor. There are plenty of Chardi Kalla Sikhs who could have spoke on our behalf tp represent us, they didnt even show any Singhnia. The best thing about it was Bhai Fauja Singh. BBC (Big Bunch of Clowns.) Just shows if want anything good doing, we gotta do it ourselves.
  16. I think everywhere you go, even in your daily lives you'll find things that pollute your mind - from the people around you to films, t.v and music, i mean you must have seen how filthy these videos have become, just look at Zee Music or B4U. However, when you mix the identity of a Singh with this filth, like Bollywood does, and falsely portray Singhs like they do, we can't sit back and accept it, its not something we want to be part of. However, a real Sikh would also try to stop this kind of filth altogether & not just wait till it hits home. Sikh Sangat has hit the nail on the head, lets work this out.
  17. Thanks, i just dont want to let my Guru down or myself, i take a look around sometimes and see people who have taken amrit but then i see them same people going out and doing things an amrit dari shouldnt, i feel like sometimes there arent enough good examples out there for young Sikhs to look up to or grow up around, i have been inspired by reading books from Bhai Rama, Baba Harnam Singh, Bhai Randir Singh, i feel like singhs of this calliber are very rare, when i become amrit dari i want to clock it like these singhs did, i dont wanna take amrit & and then still get beats from Dharam Raaj!! I wanna clock this lifetime so hardcore. I guess i need to just take that 1 step towards Guru Ji & he'll take those 1,000 towards me.
