  1. Lucky, the depths of your questions are reaching a point that I'm not sure I'm the best person to advise because I'm also at shallow depths like yourself. I don't want to give you any wrong advice. I would highly recommend you consult with someone who might be able to direct you who has more experience. I will say this though bro, that I was sitting in the presence of another mahapursh a couple of days ago. He said in the advanced stage you see the parkash of Brahm everywhere you look. When that stage is reached no more jaap, simran takes place. You do seva of waheguru with the eyes. From the little knowledge I have my understanding of these stages are 1) Listen to verbal jaap of waheguru 2) Listen to mental jaap of waheguru with swas swas 3) Listen to Anhad shabads (5 shabads) which takes you deeper within 4) Listen to Anhad naad/toor (single tone) which takes you even more deeper 5) Look at the Brahm jot, when it manifests. What it looks like I have no idea. I also find it difficult to focus on the anhad shabads, and yes they also fade sometimes when I too put my dhyan on them. If that happens I take a step back and move to the previous step.
  2. Here is another one. Love the way the intensity increases in the jaap. Could literally feel the pukar bursting out from the heart. WOW. https://soundcloud.com/satwant13/20131115-simran-veer-manpreet
  3. Took a hukamnama this morning to see what message Guru ji was giving today. Thought of sharing it with you all. Was on Ang 849 by Sri Guru Ram Das Ji Vaar Of Bilaaval, Fourth Mehl: bilaaval kee vaar mehlaa 4 One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru: ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad. (If I understand these few pangti's correctly, Guru Ram Das ji is saying the beautiful anhad raags and naads are heard in the meditative state of sahj. Further leave behind the melody and music of instruments and serve the lord within to obtain honor in the court of the lord.) Pauree: pa-orhee. 4. Laughing and crying at own my posts from 2006. http://www.sikhawareness.com/index.php/topic/8202-difference-between-swas-swas-and-sas-giras/?p=76763 When I didn't know anything it was happening automatically but didn't know what it was. Now I know what it is and seek it again it fails to happen.
  5. Lucky, all I can say is WOW!!! Keep going... Your absolutely right about the Conch being some kind of calling. I just haven't figured out what yet. I have heard the 5 anhaad shabads eventually merge into one called Naad which becomes a single tone. Anhad shabads are certainly a milestone marker, and a very good deep one at that. I wouldn't take this stage so lightly since there are countless mentions of them in Gurbani.
  6. Following my post from a few days ago a reader of this forum kindly sent me some information confirming which directions and locations various anhand shabads are known to be heard. Thought I'd share with you all for reference purposes. The only point I would make is don't go looking for these in particular directions. Let what ever happens occur naturally in it's own time. Then come back and cross check if it agrees with what you are experiencing. This was documented by a Jagjivan Saheb in the 1700s
  7. Sant Baba Bhagwan Singh (Begowal Rara Sahib) - simran techniques. Technique given at time index 23 minutes of first video and more in second video. Real pity it's the not the complete video.
  8. Nothing to forgive Brother. Looking forward to your contribution. Your posts oooze piyaar...
  9. Dearest Harsharan Veer, We appreciate your feedback on this thread as we all trying to walk on the path towards waheguru. I don't believe any of us are doing this with a view to build up some following and become some internet babay. We are merely sharing our experiences with each other to see whether they relate and try and guide and inspire each other as sikh brothers and sisters if at all possible. We fully appreciate there maybe differences or similarities in each persons experience. No one is going to say your approach is right or wrong. We all will offer suggestions if someone asks and then it's up to the individual to choose what sounds right to them. Where at all possible we try and stick to the teachings within Sikhi for this marg or little snippets of knowledge we have encountered in our search which might help us progress deeper with in. There are countless resources out there for techniques relating to simran which we all have read and heard. But how many have helped us progress or left us even more confused about which one to choose and use. Was there a fault in our technique or are we over looking the basics. Anything that has been discussed to date isn't really anything so unique that it hasn't been mentioned in Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji or other meditation related resources. Yes there is quite a strong view within this field that one should keep such things gupt. Speaking for myself I only took this step of documenting any experiences after I heard one abhyassi pursh state it is perfectly ok to talk amongst fellow gursikhs about what stage one is reaching as it helps and inspires others and might also guide you forward. But one should only talk about one's own experience and not that of others, and be very vigilant, like you stated, it doesn't lead to pride in which case it can become a hindrance I also believe Guru ji can't be so cruel to say, you talked about it so now you lost that stage. He is cannot be like that where he gives one moment then takes back on another. Personally speaking my experiences come and go all the time and I don't believe it's because I mention them on here but more because the effort put in is not consistent.
  10. Just thought I'd share that last night I woke up in the middle of the night all of sudden to the sound of a really loud constant horn "Thhuuuuuuuu" being heard from my right ear. It was ever so loud and really distinct. I have heard a finer variation of this before but this one was much more deeper. Lasted for a few minutes and then slowly faded away as I tried to focus my consciousness on it. I know I was dreaming just before I woke up. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. I really beginning to wonder if there is a correlation of hearing anhad sounds more during the night than during the day. I'm noticing more and more that between the hours 12am and 3am the sounds are much more noticeable. Maybe there is such a thing as ambrosial/amrit vela hours even though I was beginning to think anytime you remember Waheguru is amrit vela for he is beyond the concept of time. Just looked for refences to horn in SGGS and found the following. dhasamee dheh dhis hoe ana(n)dh || On the tenth day of the lunar cycle, there is ecstasy in all directions. shhoottai bharam milai gobi(n)dh || Doubt is dispelled, and the Lord of the Universe is met. eaekaadhasee eaek dhis dhhaavai || On the eleventh day of the lunar cycle, if you run in the direction of the One, baaras baareh ougavai soor || On the twelfth day of the lunar cycle, twelve suns rise. ahinis baajae anehadh thoor || Day and night, the celestial bugles (horn) vibrate the unstruck melody. dhaekhiaa thihoo(n) lok kaa peeo || Then, one beholds the Father of the three worlds. Ang 360 In the Lord`s City, he sits in his Yogic posture, and he forsakes his desires and conflicts. siv nagree meh aasan baisa-o kalap ti-aagee baadaN The sound of the horn ever rings out its beautiful melody, and day and night, he is filled with the sound current of the Naad. sinyee sabad sadaa Dhun sohai ahinis poorai naadaN. The Beloved Himself is the Yogi`s horn, and the sound current of the Naad; He Himself plays the tune. aapay sinyee naad hai pi-aaraa Dhun aap vajaa-ay aapai. Ang 730 Nectar rains down, celestial music resounds, and deep within, wisdom is obtained. nijhar jharai sahj Dhun laagai ghar hee parchaa paa-ee-ai. When the horn is blown without being blown, then you shall attain the state of fearless dignity. vaajay baajhahu sinyee vaajai ta-o nirbha-o pad paa-ee-ai. Ang 834 Following the Guru`s Teachings, I have obtained the Ambrosial Water of the Naam, and the fire has been put out. The Word of the Guru`s Shabad has put it out. gurmat naam amrit jal paa-i-aa agan bujhee gur sabad bujha-ee-aa. This mind dances before the True Guru. The unstruck sound current of the Shabad resounds, vibrating the celestial melody of the horn. ih man naachai satgur aagai anhad sabad Dhun toor vaja-ee-aa. The horn of consciousness vibrates the unstruck sound current; Your Light illuminates each and every heart, Lord. ||4|| sinyee surat anaahad vaajai ghat ghat jot tumaaree.
  11. Great share bro. Amazing how he covers Ida, pingula and sukhmana. At their union the shabad is heard. Here is the previous bit to the video. Anyone have the complete divan as I would love to listen.
  12. You made me smile bro when you stated it's hard to describe in words which even I found. I guess a musician who can relate to sounds, notes, pitch and tempos would better succeed in describing or even reproducing. I wish I could put in as much effort and dedication as you do. Much respect to you bro. I feel mental stillness when I jap. Hard to describe that state. When I hear the anhad it's more difficult to focus and listen to it. Maybe eventually I will fall in love with it like it takes time to fall in love with Waheguru Gurmantar at first.
  13. I was told never to sway body or rock ones head during simran. If you connect with the Shabad you might sometimes experience a jolt or shake. This will only be magnified if your already rocking. Still body still mind....
  14. I am so happy for you Lucky. You seem to have gone deeper within that I can only hope to experience one day. Thank you for sharing and inspiring me. What does your anhad shabad sound like? I'm no expert here but if your having thoughts in this elevated stage then there is still some way to go. But when you first experience anything it is only natural to react. I was once told that thoughts should cease the deeper you go within and if you have even a single thought then you fall back down again. So my advice to you is the next time you experience try not to think of anything, even the thought wow this is amazing brings you back down. Keep the mind locked on listening to the shabad. If your hearing the shabad at the trikuti then this is just too good. Waheguru

  16. Due to my current state of mind this weekend I asked Veer Manpreet Singh ji to focus his kirtan on Ardas and benti before the Guru. He most kindly honoured my request and sang some beautiful shabads. Thought I'd share with you all as he touches upon keeping one's faith in Naam. http://soundcloud.com/satwant14/20131201-veer-manpreet-singh 1) Jeea kee birathhaa hoe so gur pehi aradhaas kar || When your soul is feeling sad, offer your prayers to the Guru. http://www.sikhitothemax.com/page.asp?ShabadID=1960 2) kirapaa karahu dheen kae dhaathae maeraa gun avagan n beechaarahu koee || Have mercy on me, O Generous Giver, Lord of the meek; please do not consider my merits and demerits. http://www.sikhitothemax.com/page.asp?ShabadID=3289

  18. Having an experience and being enlightened are worlds apart buddy is what I mean. Nevertheless I'm humbled that you feel inspired to want to make an effort in this area yourself. That was the very reason I went against the norm of sharing experiences. You rock on brother and share with us how you get on so others can be inspired from you...
  19. Don't judge doing paath from my experiences. I'm no benchmark you should be comparing against or be striving for similar experiences. Each person could experience something completely different, special or nothing. Gaining enlightenment is a very high avasta bro and I am certainly a long way away from such a stage. Seeing a few coloured lights or hearing a few sounds doesn't make one enlightened buddy. I'm just like one of you guys, trust me, with same hopes wishes, desires and long list of faults and issues...... :-)
  20. Took me about a year because I didn't do it every day. I never set myself a time limit to do it in x number of days. Just set myself a goal to complete that amount. All depends the reasons behind doing it. Was recited up to 'Nanak Hosi Bhi Sach'. No shortcuts up to 'Gurparsad'. lol
  21. I would say using a count method isn't such a bad thing for beginners to build up a habit pattern. But eventually you want to let go of the counting. The first time I undertook mool mantar jaap was after I visited the bhora sahib of Sant Baba Nand Singh in Nanaksar gurdwara. To go down there you had a promise to undertake a certain number of paaths. When the sevadar stopped me and asked if I could do Guru Granth Sahib the path to which I replied No. Then he asked if I could sukhmani sahib and again I said no. Then he asked if I could do mool mantar and I said Yes. He said ok I want you to do x malas for 40 days. My mother jumped in said she would complete the sehaj path on my behalf and the sevadar said no. We want to get this child started in doing something by himself. After about 20 something days I started seeing floating lights which was quite scarey because I was quite young. I used to think I was about to have darshan or something and used to get scared and stop. One mahapursh called me fool for stopping. He said for all you know Baba Nand Singh might have going to appear and you got scared and opened your eyes. I was like, What!!!! 2nd time I undertook mool mantar was to complete the 125,000 as advised and inspired by listening to Giani Thakur Singh. This really took ages because I couldn't do so many at first. But the long milestone was one of the best things ever. I started really enjoying it and wanted to do more and more. Setting a goal can be a good thing because you will set yourself a milestone that will take time to complete. It is very easy to start doing something for a couple of days then stop and not make it a part of your daily routine. Likewise with Waheguru Simran starting with 5 minutes a day and building up from there might be a good way to go... I wouldn't recommend a mala for that one because all your dhyaan will be on the hands rather than the dhun of the mantar.
  22. Singh123456777, I think my son's condition has diverted the direction and conversation and aim of this topic. As correctly suggested by Bhagat Singh I should keep my personal situation private because it will have high and lows. I truly appreciate everyone concerns and suggestions and I will let you know of the outcome which ever way it goes. If anyone is concerned or has anymore suggestions then please send me a private message. If NEO ji so wishes he can delete the posts previously made relating to my personal life and we should try stick to title of this thread or matters relating to it so that it can help us all with possible stages, hurdles or even inspire us to do more naam abhiyaas. My whole view of Guru Maharaj has totally changed now since I read for myself. That is a completely different topic and not one I want to go into at this present time. There are so many things one could try do spiritually in Sikhi which we would like to think will help. Some of your suggestions of mahapursh blessings & ardas, administering akhand path amrit have and are being given. Everyone will have their suggestions but at the present time I have had to return to work after a number of weeks off and then whatever time I have in the evenings and weekends are at the hospital with my son. My ardas is always before my Guru that he showers his grace. I pray and hope my Guru doesn't want bribes or undertaking sukh's (promises) of fulfilling certain actions should he get better. For now I continue to remember my Waheguru and stand before him as far or near as I might be seeking the charity of his kirpa if he so deems fit. He is the ultimate writer of this story and will do as he so desires. Our history and teachings of our great faith have clearly told us good and bad unexplainable things happen in life and we have to learn to accept his overall will whilst also making reasonable efforts ourselves. I will try my best to follow these teachings. Apologies if I said anything wrong.
  23. A mantra from my limited knowledge should be a short compact prayer that one chants to help still the mind so that the mind is drawn toward it rather than other useless distracting thoughts. The mantra should also be able to sync with the breath easily and not cause jerkiness. They key focus behind most mantras is to focus on the sound of the mantra."Dhun Mah Dhiaan" when synchronized with the breath. It is easier to go with a short one worded mantra to a still state than a long mantra. The mool mantra is more about the attributes of Waheguru and when chanting you might be thinking about those in your mind. This is a very good and evokes pyaar for Waheguru and is a form of constant remembrance. But is it helping to still the mind or making it more active? I suppose the same applies for any kirtan or paath depending how your are singing or reciting. There will be times when you will enjoy one over the other and all are forms bhagti don't get me wrong. When reciting the mool mantra you might not be thinking of the internal meanings and just japping whilst focusing on the dhun of the words. In that regards sometimes longer mantras are easier to jap than single words. Japping the mool mantra will help one to get into a routine which might be more difficult if you jumped straight into japping Waheguru. Boredom does kick in if your not feeling any anand or peace during the jap. I think it was Sant Baba Isher Singh who stated the order is as follows depending on their avasta and state of their mind of the seeker. 1. Bani paaths 2. Mool mantar jaap 3. Waheguru jaap I don't think anyone of us can tell you what to do or not to do for we are all trying to reach the abode of Waheguru. It's going to be a very personal decision what works for you and you will have to make that decision for yourself unless you consult a mahapursh who instructs you to do more of one over the other. Personally speaking I now read Guru Maharaj for inspiration and gyaan then keep japing Waheguru and try and go deeper within. Not sure why but over the last few days, gyaan or posts that I have heard or read which catch my attention are along the lines of keep japping the mantra until sleep comes. I have come across that same message from a number of different sources and think that is they way through to the other side... Singh123456777, pick one and stick with it for a while and start walking on the path. Rest will come to you as the need arises and as you progress along the path. Don't start questioning our doubting once you pick a mantar. Run with it for a while and see how you get on. Both the Gurmantar and Mool mantar should yield results if done with sharda, pyaar and focus.
  24. I was just reading gurbani this morning and guru ji took me to sidh gost which I absolutely love and find ever so inspiring. Was just reading a couple of posts after that in the meditation experiences thread and came to the following notes that had been made which are totally relevant to this topic. http://www.sikhawareness.com/index.php/topic/12279-meditation-my-experiance-am-i-allowed-to-share/?p=130408 I hope I have understood that shabad correctly and apologies if not.
  25. Thanks Bhagat Singh for the advice. I remember that shabad and am glad you reminded me of it. Will try my best to stay on the field of battle and go as far as I can with his grace. Hopefully conquer the fort.
