  2. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!! Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji!! Sangat has received confirmation from Craig Robertson, Director Conference & Banqueting of Royal Lancaster Hotel London, that the Anand Karaj will not happen in the hotel & Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji will not be brought onto the hotel complex. The Anand Karaj will happen at Shepard’s Bush Gurdwara, on 23rd October 2005, which is 5 minutes from the hotel. Craig admitted that the board of directors could not believe the response & the emotions of the Sikh Community. He also said that they did not receive any abusive or confrontational telephone call or email. The Sangat who rang it or emailed wished to educate the hotel about Sikh Principles and the greatness of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Royal Lancaster is in the process of drafting a statement and this will be emailed to all members of the Sangat who sent an email about this issue. This should be out by the evening. Thank you to all, Guruji has blessed everyone. It is amazing to see the passion within our Sikh Sangat who stand against beadbi. Together we can work towards the end of this bad practice of taking Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji to hotels, clubs, banqueting halls etc where alcohol, meat & tobacco is continuously served. 3. your answer is not sufficient to me. i can look it up but i wanted u to explain...i am worried that u have got it all wrong. so i take it you are an expert on the teachings? i've got my answer..... thanx for your concern. what r the tactics? i take it u are antarjami and u have been there everyone time someone has even flinced? sorry if u have to lower yourself for Guru Maharaj....i do apologise. p.s any advice on how we shud go about things? And will u be helping seeing they r your ideas?
  4. i see what your saying pheena ji. and you do have a point but in this case the bad outweighs the good that would come from the situation. this is nothing but disrespect of our guru ji. the good that would come out of people getting maharaj's darshan is not overlooked - but it is different from when guru nanak dev ji went to sajjan thug's or other great sinners. they could understand the language he was speaking. the campaign is not made so that people cannot get darshan of guru ji if they are not amritdhari - ofcourse not. but the minimum that we can do is ask people to come to gurudwara. The minimum respect is upheld in most. if we dont respect our guru ji, how can we ever fold our hands before him and ask for something? please make sure as many people come to the event, its no good banging keyboards if your not going to attend the wedding and physically protest. how can we call ourselves sikhs (of the guru) if we do nothing when our guru ji is disrespected? if we dont stand up now and show our united stance now, it'll keep happening. today a hotel, tommorow a pub. (makes me sick when i hear people say they will be too tired/working/watching simpsons) sorry if i've offended anyone.
  5. Guru Gobind Singh Jis HORSE!! Yes HIS HORSE!!! Refused to walk through a Tobbaco Field. HIS HORSE I will keep emphasasing, HIS HORSE!!! And if HIS HORSE refused to let Maharaj through then why should we permit Guru Ji to go to these places? Maharaj does say cleanse the sinful, but if he himself doesnt want go to these places then he wont, ie he will send a fauja down to protect him. That is afterall, what we are here to do. He himself tests his Sikhs, all those who wear Bana etc, Amritdhari, he wants to see who is really his Khalsa, and who is doing maybe for show? Saint Soldier, his is army. Not one, but both. We have a duty to stand there. In the repsonse from the letter, it says there is fast moving traffic etc. Well heres the way we do it. We sit on the road. Cars go by, the police will be present anyway. If theres ENOUGH PEOPLE!! then they cant do much. We might even get coverage as we will be stopping "fast moving traffic" which in london is probably a one off... from experience! lol im always in traffic!!
  6. Thank you everyone please keep calling the hotel.
  7. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!! Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is going to be taken to Royal Lancaster Hotel on 23rd October 2005 for a “Sikh Weddingâ€. Members of the UK Sikh Community have been in discussions with the families of the Bride and Groom as well as the Wedding Arranger. All of them are aware of the Hukamnama from Sri Akal Takht Sahib and that taking Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji to a venue that serves alcohol, meat & tabbacco is against Sikh Principles. However they are adamant to proceed with this “Sikh Weddingâ€. What can you do? As members of the Sikh Community please ring the following and voice your concerns: Royal Lancaster Hotel (Royal Lancaster Hotel, Lancaster Terrace, London W2 2TY): Craig Robertson - Director Conference & Banqueting (car@royallancaster.com) on 020 7262 6737 Wedding Arrangers Paul (Director of Curry Special) on 07768 422181 or 020 8518 3003 Sanjay Anand of Madhu’s on 020 8574 1897 Granthi Harbans Singh Suraj (currently on Vectone Punjabi’s Gur Kirpa programme) will be taking Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji to this hotel. Please contact him & inform that his actions are direct violation of Sri Akal Takht Sahib & the Khalsa Panth. Ring Harbans Singh Suraj on 01634 576100 Please remember when ringing that you are representing the Sikh Community. Please refrain from bad language and confrontational discussions. Together as Sadh Sangat we can stop this bad practice and give respect to Gurbani & Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji as given by our Gurus & GurSikhs. 9. it is wrong if you have alcohol and meat in the house. people need to get some respect and if they dont know how to respect then we need to educate people. we obviously see Guru Ji as a book or we would not partake in such activity.
  10. check this out....i think this makes it 7. http://www.sikhsangat.com/index.php?showtopic=13018
  11. Respect For Sri Guru Granth Sahib Campaign Press Release 15 August 2005 Six Weddings Successfully Re-arranged to Gurdwara Sahibs, August 2005. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! With the blessings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, there is a growing awareness to the 1998 Hukamanama released by Sri Akal Takht Sahib forbidding the taking of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji to hotels, clubs, pubs, banqueting halls and other places where meat, alcohol & cigarettes are served. The Campaign has worked with the Authorities, Wedding Planners and Family members to successfully re-arrange six weddings where the Saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji was to be taken to Banqueting Suites. The weddings were scheduled from 14th to 28th August 2005 around Docklands, Heathrow, Surrey and Slough. We would like to thank all those who fully cooperated and realised the importance to maintain Sikh Maryada. The Campaign continues to build a strong working relationship with Police Forces from London, Thames Valley & Surrey. Contrary to media writing and other rumours the Campaign is open about its activities and its stance. In this current hostile climate within the UK, the British Sikh Sangat has exercised its right to peacefully protest at Camberley as well as put forward its view to UK authorities. The various rumours relating to the Sangat’s protest on 31 July 2005 in the Punjabi Press are misrepresented and grossly exaggerated. The Surrey Police Force were fully informed and present during the day and would not have tolerated any abuse of Sikh kirpans. The Police would have had enough justification to immediately arrest. No arrests or charges were made on the day or subsequently. The Campaign updates the Authorities constantly and makes them aware of any family members or other individuals who will be contacted. The Authorities have all information to easily clamp down on any alleged threatening or violent behaviour. The Campaign will continue to strive to stop the bad practice of taking the Saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji to hotels, clubs, pubs, banqueting suites within the UK. The Campaign has nothing to hide and the activities of the Campaign will remain transparent. 12. just some questions....i not sure about the answers...... were Guru Gobind Singh Ji a fanatic? were they an extremist? did they tell sikhs to carry 5 weapons? did they tell sikhs to learn how to fight? did they take up arms to protect the innocent?
  13. unity..............been hearing this since i was 4....now i'm 24......i think the problem lies with understanding this word......unity does not mean we agree on every last thing (thank Maharaj for this otherwise we got no chance)it does not mean we agree on rehats.... unity means standing together at times like this, asking for justice, all speaking up and doing our bit. when thousands of innocent Sikhs were killed we should have stuck together from then onwards...but we didn't. put differences aside and think about those poor innocent brothers and sisters.........today when a few innocent people are killed in some bombings the whole world including us condemn the action of the bombers......but what about our own people. its just my opinion. and 'artistformalyknownasodhi' there is no need for sarcastic comments.....this aint no laughing matter.....if your mum or dad were innocent victims of religous hate crimes, i dont think you would take the same attitude.
  14. apparently this grewal is a drunk and apparently has turned up to the Gurdwara drunk too. maybe we should film him and catch him in the act.
