whats the point in being able to "read" gurmukhi if you cant understand it? Isnt it better that one understands the essence of bani in a language one can relate to than just read it like the dodgy pandit down the road who just mindlesly reads mantras for someones havan? To be honest, i can read, write and understand 70% of what Gurbani is saying, but I get most joy out of it when I read its translation in english. Despite upon hearing my punjabi most people think im a freshie, but the anand I get out of reading Gurbani arth in english is something else for me because i predominantly speak english. Gods glory or word isnt restricted by language. Your heart are the eyes that look at the words of Gurbani and your soul is the brain that makes sence of it.

Allot of us do the paath or keep the bana, but that doesnt mean that we have completly submitted ourselves to our Guru. So heres a question if submission is the only way to follow the Guru and be one with the Guru, how can we judge anyone by their appearance or the level of their commitment when we ourselves havent submitted to our Guru? Mit, you dont need any of us to tell you what to do or how to dress, when you do your baani, and you throw yourself into it, the answers will unravell. Think of it this way, have you ever watched stargate? Well on there, there is a gate which takes you into a whole different dimention. Most if not all of us sit on the edge of that gate and see glimpses of the other side, and like fools we make assumptions about what those glimpses are and we argue with each other trying to prove that my perception is right and yours is wrong. When the only way to find out is to go through the gate, but to do that you need strenght and courage because when you look through the gate it looks really scary. You assume that by going through the gate, your clothes will change and youl get a tan or something like that and you worry that what if my clothes dont look good to other people and if ill look like a dork. But you dont know that untill you cross over through the gate. When you go through the gate and experience the full blast of Gurbani you will see feel certainty and you will know what to do, not like us who are in uncertainty hence why we question and argue. Go through the gate, and let us fools wrangle over whats right and wrong, and then if you have mercy take one of us with you.

Satguru doesnt need to be called a "Guru" for him to know that he is a guru. Its each idividuals Sharhda as to what you want to call them. You dont see Naamdharis forcing us to call their guru satguru do we? Satguru is the Guru of those who recognise his splendour and glory. Many times in Shri Aadh Darbar do our Satgurus have the nimarta to reffer to Satguru Nanak in their baani, but look closely how many times does it say for example kaho satguru nanak.... etc Some refferences to Satguru Nanak are of Baba Nanak Shah is that demeaning to his status. Those who have inferior complexes get offended by such miscallings and labellings, our Satguru has no such inferior complex because he knows and his true followers know that he is Aad Sach Jugad Sach Hai Bhi Sach and Hosi Sach, and the true folowers of Satguru need take no offence because they should feel privilaged that they have the satbudhi and gaurav of calling the House of Nanak its Satguru.
