84? I don't think the Panth learned anything from 1849 onwards.

Glad that you have brought it up. Let's talk about how the original custodians of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, the Buddha Dal., allowed the barring of low-caste Sikhs from Darbar Sahib, and did nothing for years until the Singh Sabha forced them out. If Buddha Dal with all its shastars could let this happen, what chance to mere mortals have?

As bitter as it sounds, we have to accept the sakhi of Bhai Ghaneya and the fact that Guru Sahib praised him for it. Giving langar (and charity) is done blindly. I don't know how to change that but I would welcome any ideas.

Sikhs are seeing a genocide again, but it will not be an overt one, at least not yet. India has no need to commit an overt one, they are more focused on covert genocides. The current genocide against Sikhs is coming from an infestation of rashtra lovers, who in their thousands and thousands are infestating online media platforms with all sorts of nonsense directed at Sikhs and Muslims.

🙄 But the plane needs both wings to fly and they are not competing with each other, claiming to be the sole reason that the plane will be better if either have dominance.

    What mistake?

The mistake of thinking one enemy power subduing or destroying another enemy power is always going to be in your favour.

Nader Shah virtually destroyed Moghal power in Delhi leaving Sikhs able to make claims on Panjab. It worked out .

Native Americans helping the "white man" against other tribes in the hope that they would then possess their native american adverseries lands and hunting grounds. It was a genocide, and they have for all intents and purposes disappeared from the peoples map of the world.

How many will remain muslim throughout their lives. Nobody counts how many leave islam.

I can see you piping up everytime something comes in against islam and/or muslims. Hindutva training. Sikhs in india have left true Sikhi, for their love affair with the indian state.

In the past 3 months, ManMohan Singh has dealt with at least 5 cases of Sikh youngsters converting to Islam in the UK. Whether they stay Muslim or not, the fact is that they had no regard or love for Gurmat to even consider that step.

But only last week a high ranking police officer was labelled a Khalistani because he objected to a BJP woman breaking the law:

As long as you kiss their arse, which you KD, seem to be fond of, they will love you as they love their pet dogs. But act against them and you will see their true colours.

  6. I have started reading this book, and as with all books on partition of Panjab, it makes a VERY depressing read!

I was hoping that this book would have truly reflected the feelings of the Sikh leadership and masses, but it carries a great irritiation from the author that the Sikhs won't accept themselves to be Hindu or part of the wider hindu pantheon. She makes the odd historical mistake here and there, but takes digs at the Singh Sabha and Gurdwara Sudhar Lehars. She also quotes from some quite hideous authors to back up the india-wide assertion that Sikhs were essentially part of the hindu society until the 1880s when they came under the infuence of the British to assert themselves as a separate people. So disappointing.

How generous of the Maharashtra government to "withhold it for broader consultation" !!! The fact that they must have been planning for months before doing it, and to even think about it in the first place shows that their intentions. I'm just glad that on the one side the hazoori Sikhs have kind of woken up to the deceitful nature of the indian states and their regional and central governments. Hopeful one day the delhi sikhs will shake off their slumber as well.

  8. @jaikaara Why is this hindutva agent not saying anything about this ? He lives there in Nander, and has always pretended to be friendly to any Sikh who is against Khalistan and freedom for Panjab.

What's Balbir Singh going to do? He can't visit Nander because the Nihangs there hate him. They don't accept him as Jathedar of anything. And it doesn't surprise me. I saw a video of Balbir Singh slandering Baba Surjeet Singh and saying the most stupid things about Surjeet Singh and his beard, claiming that Surjeet Singh kept his beard like a muslim. What kind of drivel is that to come from anyones mouth, let alone a so-called jathedar of Buddha Dal?

According to Pyara Singh Padam this Bhagat Singh was the student of Kavi Dharam Singh who was a court poet of Guru Gobind Singh. And the whole Gurbilas Patshahi Chevi Granth is a book written on the basis of the katha sermons that Bhagat SIngh heard at Nankana Sahib from Bhai Mani Singh.

I've read very little from this book but I remember that I found the poetry quite beautiful. And it starts with Ik Oankaar Satgur prasaad which is quite interesting as it might indicate that it was written before Vahiguru ji ki fateh had become the standardized manglacharan.

The actual place according to the katha in Gurdwara Nanaksar, Jhang, Pakistan. This is the current condition of the historic gurdwara.

Its been a long time since I visited or commented, as I rarely have anything new to comment lol.

But I found this katha of Sri Gur Bilas Patshahi Chhevin on Soundcloud:

I've listened to the first part so far, and its really good.

It took me one year to listen all through the katha of Sri Gurbilas Patshahi Chhevin. I feel blessed and have learnt so much from this Granth. I cannot recommend it enough and it has proved a valuable soure for some questions I had about Sikh history.

I hope my brothers on this forum have already started their journey into the katha of this granth.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken warned a small group of lawmakers last week that his department is tracking the possibility that Azerbaijan could soon invade Armenia, according to two people familiar with the conversation.

The call indicates the depth of concern in the administration about Azerbaijan’s operations against a breakaway region in the west of the country and the possibility of the conflict spreading.

I'd be surprised if Azerbaijan invaded Armenia. They have got what they wanted for 20 years in taking over Nagorno Karabagh. Azerbaijan has also been warned by Iran that it should not overplay it's hand with Armenia. Turkey and Russia in the meantime have given strong support to Azerbaijan. Yet Iran is still supporting Russia against Ukraine. Israel has supported Azerbaijan in retaking Nagorno Karabagh, as they are not on good terms with Iran.

    It's a mess isn't it lol?

Palestinians called the exodus and eradication of much of their society inside Israel the Nakba, or “catastrophe”, and it remains the traumatic event at the heart of their modern history.

Great thread. The naqba of the palestinians happened in 1948, 1 year after the naqba of the Sikhs. Yet the Sikhs are generally mute to their own naqba in Panjab. It's like we have forgotten, or chosen to forget what happened in 1947.

The PLO was a generally secular organisation modelled on other leftwing guerrilla movements of the time, although most of its supporters were Muslim.

Its why Yasser Arafat was a great supporter of Nehru  and Indira Gandhi, as they claimed to be secularists as well. But the state of India also got help and advice from Israel in counter-terrorism for Operation Bluestar, as the Israelis had been conducting such like operations for years. Both enemies. Both supporting India.

Israel has always denied encouraging the rise of the Islamist movement in Gaza but it saw the groups as a way of undermining support for the PLO and recognised Mujama al-Islamiya as a charity, allowing it to operate freely and build support. Israel also approved the creation of the Islamic University of Gaza, which became a breeding ground of support for Hamas.

It seems like their plan to create infighting between Palestinians backfired as one side came out very dominant. And then decided to kill 1000 Israelis.

It's hard to beleive, yet true, that for all his academic prowess, research skills and general eloquence in discussing such topics, he has not moved an iota from his castiest drivel and mental block. Life is about becoming wiser and more forgiving and less intolerant as you grow older, but this dude just bucked the trend. Maybe he has not been posting here out of embarrassment.

Dr. Jagbir Jhutti-Johal met with Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh just weeks before the 2019 report was released. Captain Amarinder has long been a fanatical voice against Sikh activism, underlined by his accusations towards Canada’s Sikh Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan. Amarinder has also supported the arbitrary incarceration of British Sikh political prisoner Jagtar Singh Johal, labelling the Scot “guilty” at a press conference before any trial began. The duo’s report was taken down by the government within 24 hours of its release before being amended and re-released. Bloom did not mention this in referencing the report.

    Any idea what was amended?
