The month of Phagun brought immense joy to men and women
The mist of red (or crimson) colour meant that men could no longer be seen (16) meaning that there air was thick with red powder
The act of drums beating went on and on and the women strutted around like peacocks
Enjoyment fell like little drops of rain and the beat of the drums went as such (17)
Chaupai
The red powder had created a blindness
Vision did not go beyond one's hand
The Queen threw a handful of powder in her rich husbands's eye
Recognise that she blinded the King (18)
Dohra
One eye was already blind and the other one had dust thrown in it
The King fell to the ground helpless like a prisoner (19)
Will finish it off tomorrow.

The Queen called the colourful head jester (thats the word I couldnt think of these past few days) immediately to her presence
She held him closely to her chest and kissed him passionately (20)
When the King removed the powder from his eyes and began to look around
The Queen had by that time enjoyed her encounter with the jester and bade him leave (21)
The end of this Charitar.

There were crowds of men and women playing this handsome game
Wherever one looks there is Kesri colour (13)
In each and every house there is frolicking and songs are sung with laughter
In each and every house the drums are playing rhythmically and in each and every house there is dancing and singing (14)
On seeing the Princes form (head performer) she was completely overcome
The Queen was instantly overcome with love (15)

On seeing a handsome performer ( Nat means performer, it can also mean actor, or acrobat etc)
Her body was overcome with love
Her mind, actions and speech were captivated
Recognise it as if she had been purchased as a slave (6)
Dohra
In each and every house there was frolicking, in each and every house there songs were being sung
In each and every house the drums were playing a rhythm, in each and every house there was dancing and music (7)
There, there was a main (head) performer, who was the leader of the performers
He was the King at revealing hidden love and bringing out love in new colours ( I think this means he was good at making people falling in love through his act) (8)
In the area there was great frolicking and all the men and women were singing
Blossoming flowers shone in hands and the wise embraced the wise (I'm struggling to work that last bit out "and the wise embraced the wise") (9)
Dohra
IN each and every house there was frolicking and singing, and in each and every house the drum was beating
In every house there was melodious singing and in each and every house there were instruments playing (10)
In each and every house women were singing wonderful songs
There were flutes "murj" and drums and all types of instruments playing (11)

Chaupai
When the month of Phagun arrived
The joy of men and women increased
In every house there was rejoicing
Songs were sung amidst clapping (4)
Silly me, I chopped of the first line of verse 5 but it reads as :
Chachar Mati was the womans name
The Creator had created her extremely beautiful
Mani Sen was the name of the Raja
Chachar Mati was his young beautiful wife (5)
more to come...

Chitar Singh then said to the Minister "I have done everything wrong"
These words that you have spoken to me, are like nectar being poured into my ears (1)
Dohra
Collect your mind, thoughts and words, this is my order to you
Relate all the characters of women to me (2)
The Ministers speaks:
"There was a King who was blind in one eye who had a wife who committed low actions
who would enjoy her lover after putting dust in the King's eye. " (3)
will add more later.

Could be but I dont think they are sticking to it. I think they already have the variation of the word in old arabic. Look at this this line from "1001 Arabian Nights" . (towards the end of the first paragraph.)

Bhagat Singh Ji, do you know there is a place in Gurdaspur called "Qadian" which is pronounced just as it is written in Gurmukhi. Even the Muslims pronounce it this way with a "d."
I do not believe that what you have written is correct, and have never heard any paath with it said as such.
In Arabic there are 4 ways to pronounce "z", even though in Persian there is only 1. It may be that a different pronunciation of the arabic "z" resulted in it becoming a "d" but that is exactly what it is.

There are a few lines in this that make the theme stand out.
The weak translation done by bindra misses out these important pieces:
The ugly milkman had a beautiful wife
That young woman was captivated on seeing a King (2)
The woman was pained by the milkman
(he used) Sharp words were said day and night
She was not allowed to go to sell millk/butter (the actual word meaning is makhan)
Her jewellery was taken and sold (3)
Nothing about beating her in original text
This young woman was known by the name of Soorchhat
Under his protection she was greatly cared for (4)
The translation gives his name as "chhater ket" but that just means "royal protection."
When the milkman would lower his head in order to milk the cow
The King would come to her and take her in his arms (6) (translation says he fumbles with her, what on earth is fumbling??)
Both young King and woman felt peace after their enjoyment (no menion of sex in original story) (10)
will add some more later.

A few more thoughts on this.
What you have written above is true but of half of the equation. It's "what you are missing that is happening right in front of you."
The wife is embracing the object of her heart right next to her husband, but as he is engrossed in his job, he is unaware of what she is doing. The Minister is telling the King, that the milkman was looking at something that he never noticed what activities a person right next to them was doing. The Minister is pointing out that a man should always be aware of whats going around him.
Now another point the Minister made here was that the cow moved and spilled some milk. The wife covered her tracks by saying that the calf was after some milk and this was why the cow was moving, and the milk was spilling. The husband just accepted her excuse without lifting his head up to see what was happening.
Remember how this starts off as well. " The Minister narrated a tale that made the whole court go silent." Why would they go silent? Because they see how easy it is to be deceived by someone so close, in relation and physical proximity.

chatanga1 got a reaction from Premi in Muslim Brother Praising Khalsa Aid/Sikhs
Humble namaskar to anyone who helps others. But here in the UK whilest this crises was making headline news, I counted at least 8 muslim tv channels who were supporting the same cause and raising a lot more mone than khalsa aid. There was a case in Pakistan where a sikh girl of 17 was abducted and forced to marry a muslim this year. As of yet she has not returned home. khalsa aid really could have helped that family with moeny for legal representation. We don't make any headway with one or two brownie points.
On the other hand its good to see you back!

At my local Gurdwara, there was a Sampat Paath, where there are 6 big degs full of jall to be given to sangat after bhog. One time the jall was taken very quickly so the next time the committee decided rather to invest in more degs, to buy buy cases of plastic bottled water and give these out to the sangat after bhog of Sampat Paath.
