  1. Haanji Veerjeo I have Swami Anandghans teeka too, will scan it soon gurprasad
  2. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Guru Roop Sangat Jeo, By Guru Sahibs Grace here is Garab Ganjani (Teeka of Sri JapJi Sahib) by Kavi Santokh Singh Ji: GARAB GANJANI TIKA, by Bhai Santokh Singh, is an exegesis in the Nirmala tradition of Guru Nanak`s Japu. The commentator, a celebrated poet and chronicler and author of the monumental Sri Gur Pratap Suraj Granth, completed the work, his only one in prose, in 1886 Bk/AD 1829. Whereas all his poetic works are written in Braj, this one is in Sadhukari. Santokh Singh undertook the writing of this commentary at the behest of his patron Ude Singh (d. 1843), the ruler of Kaithal, who, dissatisfied with an earlier tika by an Udasi sadhu, Anandghana, had wished a fresh one to be prepared. The original manuscript of Garab Ganjani Tika is preserved in the Dr Balbir Singh Sahitya Kendra at Dehra Dun. It was first published in AD 1910 and again, with certain corrections and punctuations, in 1961. The latter edition comprises 184 printed pages. The work opens with an invocation to God, followed by couplets eulogizing first the Ten Gurus and then Sarasvati, the goddess of learning. The poet salutes his mentor Giani Sant Singh whom he had in his younger days heard expound this text. This also explains how he had come to launch on this Tika. He brings out the majestic sublimity of the Japu and alludes to its general popularity. These explanations occupy all of the first four pages; the exegesis proper begins at page 5. Towards the end of the work, there are four couplets explaining the title of the work:Garab Ganjam Tika is Tika or exegesis that dispels and eradicates (ganjam = that which eradicates) arrogance (garb = pride). The exegesis is proffered in the form of a gosti. The Sikh, herein called mumokhi, i.e. one who is a seeker of mokh or release, puts questions to the Guru as to how he can attain liberation and the Guru answers those questions. 3. Haanji Veerjeo, the scans are uploaded on Scribd and gurmatveechar.com simultaneously so that they are easily and permanently accessible to everyone The reason for using Scribd is it is good for getting a quick overview of the available book. And if one is interested in something, it can then be downloaded off either Scribd or gurmatveechar.com
  4. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Sangat Jeo, Just finished scanning 'Gur Shabad Alankaar' by Bhai Kahn Singh Ji Nabha. This book can be considered as a companion to 'Gur Channd Divakar' which Kamalpreet Singh Veerji have most kindly digitised for us. 'Gur Channd Divakaar' is about the intricacies of Chandabandi within Guru Sahibs works, while this book expands on various alankaars, the literary ornamentation, as used in Sikh scriptures. I wish I could provide a better synopsis of the book, but I have just started reading it myself along with Gur Channd Divakar, so apologies for that. Anyway, hope Gur Channd Divakar and this book will be of some help to khojee premis out there Once again, Parnaam to Kamalpreet Veerji for scanning Gur Channd Divakar! Download Gur Shabad Alankaar from Scribd: http://www.scribd.com/doc/53558875/Gur-Shabad-Alankaar-Bhai-Kahn-Singh-Nabha Dhanvaad for reading!

  7. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Guru Roop Sangat Jeo, I was reading some articles by Bhagat Pooran Singh Ji when I came across these beautiful bachans that deeply moved me, perhaps because of their association with Bhagat Ji's own life, so thought I share the joy with you all The original text is in Gurmukhi, hope this translation does not take away the essence of Bhagat Ji's original words. Some Bachans on importance of Kes and Dastaar Sriman Bhagat Pooran Singh Ji I was born and raised in a Snatan Hindu family. All the monay people of our village used to wear turbans on their heads, and almost all Khatris and Brahmins kept long beards. My Hindu father Lala Sibboo Mall also kept long beard and used to tie a huge turban on his head. Before India’s partition, a prominent doctor of Lahore Dr. Beli Ram would walk around the streets advocating keeping of long beard for protection from throat infections during winter months. I adopted the Sikh faith at the age of nineteen; that is when I started keeping Kes on my head. Before that my appearance was that of any other Hindu boy. I was born and raised in a village where the surrounding land was full of fields, and in fields one also finds Beri (a type of small fruit commonly found in Punjab’s countryside) trees. People often throw pebbles and stones to knock down these fruits from the high branches. Once I was sitting under one of the tress when suddenly a loose stone hit me in the head, which caused a huge gash near my forehead. Although I use to wear turban even in those days, maybe I was not wearing one on that day. Or perhaps I was, but barely a single layer of cloth covers the centre of the head, which is almost same as not having anything on head at all. It is the knotted Kes in the middle of the head that provide good protection against heavy objects. The following incident is from year 1989: I was walking near Ghanta Ghar, Sri Darbar Sahib when suddenly, from a height of 50 feet, a double brick fell from Ghanta Ghar’s deordi and landed barely a foot away from me. If I was one foot closer, the brick would have surely struck me in the head, and I would not have survived. But with God’s grace I was saved that day. From that day onwards I started wearing Nihang Singh style tall dumalla, and people have starting assuming I am a Nihang Singh. In war, weapons of all sorts hit you, and in ordinary day-to-day life, people get attacked by sticks and the like, that is why adorning Dastaar on the head is very important. Dhanvaad for reading jeo!

  17. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Guru Roop Sangat Jeo, Here is the Sri Jaap Sahib Steek by Prof. Sahib Singh. It also includes teeka of Swayiye (Sravag Sudd..) and the opening Chaupai of Sri Akaal Ustat. It is a must read, especially for those with missionary mindset as they have great regard for Prof. Sahib's work. In the foreword itself Prof. Sahib has made it absolutely clear that Sri Jaap Sahib and other banis of Sri Dasam Granth are composed by Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Ji Maharaj himself. The meanings are laid out in the 'Guru Granth Sahib Ji Darpan' style, with padd-arth (words and their .meanings) and the mool paath's exposition. Hope it is useful in some way Read on Scribd: http://www.scribd.com/doc/50778700/Prof-Sahib-Singh-Sri-Jaap-Sahib-Steek Dhanvaad, and thanks for reading!

  19. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Guru Roop Sangat Jeo, With Guru Sahibs blessings attempt is being made to upload the complete Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Jee Steek by Pandit Narain Singh Ji Gyani. Gyani Ji's work is considered to be the best and it is most certainly the definitive Steek of Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Ji available. The Teeka is beautiful and concise, and contains both mool paath + meanings of difficult words. Its originally in 8 thick volumes, therefore it will take some time before all the text is digitsed. Maharaj willing the text will initially be divided into files containing individual baanis, and once all the files are scanned what ill do is stitch them up into 1 file for easier access and reference gurprasad. Anyway, here is the 1st part in this new series Sri Jaap Sahib Ji: Read on Scribd: http://www.scribd.com/doc/50586115/Sri-Dasam-Granth-Sahib-Jee-Steek-Volume-1-Jaap-Sahib PS: Please do not ask for download links jeo, consider buying the set instead if you find it useful! 21. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Guru Roop Sangat Jeo, Here is a picture book called 'Janga - Gur Patshahiyan Diyan'. It was published by SGPC around 1995, and contains summary of most of the important battles that our Sri Guru Sahibs Ji Maharaj fought with tyrants. These Saakhis are accompanied with beautiful illustrations which add to the reading experience, and im sure both young and not-so-young will enjoy this one Couple pages from the book: This book is downloadable so feel free to download/print/distribute! Here is the download link to the scribd page: http://www.scribd.com/doc/49472193/Wars-Jangan-Gur-Patshahiyan-Diyan-Picture-Book Dhanvaad!
  22. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Sangat Jeo, Here is another book that will be useful to those who want to learn more about Gurbani Grammar, its by Bhai Sahib Gyani Harbans Singh Ji called 'Naveen Gurbani Vyakarn'. This book is in contrast with the more popular Prof. Sahib Singh Ji's Gurbani Vyakarn *link below*, because whereas Prof sahib's book is academic and advanced (and very dry If i be honest ), this one gradually picks up pace and will surprisingly keep you engaged with its small, easy to digest chapters. I found the sections on the usage of Maatras, and the chapter on importance of correct Gurbani pronounciation particularly interesting. Gyani Ji's approach isn't strictly academic, and unlike Prof. Sahib Singh Ji Gyani Ji is willing to accept that while Gurbani Grammar is an important field of study, it is irrelevant to those individuals whose surat is gone above and beyond the worldly knowledge.. He also refers a lot to Pandit Kartar Singh Dhaaka, and Taksaali Gurmukh Pyaare in the text, and it seems like hes tried to bridge the gap between grammarians and spiritualists with this book.. Anyway, enough of my nonsense Here's the link to the book! http://www.scribd.com/doc/49129844/Naveen-Gurbani-Vyakarn-Bhai-Sahib-Gyani-Harbans-Singh PS: I normally don't make notes on any of my books as I like to keep them virgin but this one has few marks here n there, many apologies for that jeo And.. please dont ask for download links, buy the book instead and support the author! Prof. Sahib Singh's book: http://www.scribd.com/doc/37423004/Prof-Sahib-Singh-Gurbani-Vyakarn-Gurbani-Grammar Dhanvaad!
