  1. It is not that simple as we are trying to make it.These are two distinct separate philosophies. In Hinduism , Worshippers of devi durga consider her as absolute supreme power. There is no God above her.She is all in all. Sikhism rejects that theory and considers her as creation of akal purakh.That was the purpose of Guru sahib in writing dasam granth to tell people that deities you consider as Gods are not Gods. They are creation God and have not been able to realize God. PLease do not mix two different philosophies as it creates nothing else but confusion.There is no need to do that also.
  2. In Dasam Granth sahib the mention of word devi should not be confused with devi of Hindu faith having physical entity. There is another ustat of devi ji in krishna avtar titled as " Devi ji ki ustat". Please read it and realize that it is ustat of akal purakh. So devi word used in Dasam Granth does not indicate devi of hinduism. Thou art the destroyer of the sufferings of all and also gracious towards all.430. ਤੁਮੀ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣੀ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਹਿਰੰਨਾਛ ਮਾਰਯੋ ॥ ਹਰੰਨਾਕਸ਼ੰ ਸਿੰਘਣੀ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਪਛਾਰਯੋ ॥ ਤੁਮੀ ਬਾਵਨੀ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਤਿਨੋ ਲੋਗ ਮਾਪੇ ॥ ਤੁਮੀ ਦੇਵ ਦਾਨੋ ਕੀਏ ਜੱਛ ਥਾਪੇ ॥੪੩੧॥ तुमी ब्राहमणी ह्वै हिरंनाछ मारयो ॥ हरंनाकशं सिंघणी ह्वै पछारयो ॥ तुमी बावनी ह्वै तिनो लोग मापे ॥ तुमी देव दानो कीए ज्छ थापे ॥४३१॥ As the power of Brahm and as the lion, Thou didst overthrow Hiranyakashipu; Thou didst measure the three worlds as the power of Vaman an dThou didst establish the gods, demons and Yakshas.431. ਤੁਮੀ ਰਾਮ ਹ੍ਵੈਕੈ ਦਸਾਗ੍ਰੀਵ ਖੰਡਯੋ ॥ ਤੁਮੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਕੰਸ ਕੇਸੀ ਬਿਹੰਡਯੋ ॥ ਤੁਮੀ ਜਾਲਪਾ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਬਿੜਾਲਾਛ ਘਾਯੋ ॥ ਤੁਮੀ ਸੁੰਭ ਸੁੰਭ ਨੈਸੁੰਭ ਦਾਨੋ ਖਪਾਯੋ ॥੪੩੨॥ तुमी राम ह्वैकै दसाग्रीव खंडयो ॥ तुमी क्रिशन ह्वै कंस केसी बिहंडयो ॥ तुमी जालपा ह्वै बिड़ालाछ घायो ॥ तुमी सु्मभ सु्मभ नैसु्मभ दानो खपायो ॥४३२॥ Thou didst kill Ravana as Ram; Thou didst kill the demon Keshi as Krishna; Thou didst annihilate the demon Biraksha as Jalapa and Thou didst destroy the demons Sumbh and Nisumbh.432. ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥ दोहरा ॥ DOHRA ਦਾਸ ਜਾਨ ਕਰਿ ਦਾਸ ਪਰਿ ਕੀਜੈ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਅਪਾਰ ॥ ਹਾਥ ਦੈ ਰਾਖ ਦੈ ਰਾਖ ਮੁਹਿ ਮਨ ਕ੍ਰਮ ਬਚਨ ਬਿਚਾਰ ॥੪੩੩॥ दास जान करि दास परि कीजै क्रिपा अपार ॥ हाथ दै राख दै राख मुहि मन क्रम बचन बिचार ॥४३३॥ Considering me as Thy slave, be Gracius towards me and keep Thy hand over my head and protect me with Thy mind, action, speech and thought.433. ਚੌਪਈ ॥ चौपई ॥ CHUPAI ਮੈ ਨ ਗਨੇਸ਼ਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮ ਮਨਾਊਂ ॥ ਕਿਸ਼ਨ ਬਿਸ਼ਨ ਕਬਹੂੰ ਨਹ ਧਿਆਊਂ ॥ਕਾਨ ਸੁਨੇ ਪਹਿਚਾਨ ਨ ਤਿਨ ਸੋਂ ॥ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ਮੋਰੀ ਪਗ ਇਨ ਸੋਂ ॥੪੩੪॥ मै न गनेशहि प्रिथम मनाऊं ॥ किशन बिशन कबहूं नह धिआऊं ॥कान सुने पहिचान न तिन सों ॥ लिव लागी मोरी पग इन सों ॥४३४॥ I do not adore Ganesha in the beginning and also do not mediatate on Krishna and Vishnu; I have only heard about them with my ears and I do not recognize them; my consciousness is absorbed at the feet of the Supreme Kal (the Immanent Brahman).434. ਮਹਾਕਾਲ ਰਖਵਾਰ ਹਮਾਰੋ ॥ ਮਹਾ ਲੋਹ ਮੈਂ ਕਿੰਕਰ ਥਾਰੋ ॥ ਅਪਨਾ ਜਾਨ ਕਰੋ ਰਖਵਾਰ ॥ ਬਾਹਿ ਗਹੇ ਕੀ ਲਾਜ ਬਿਚਾਰ ॥੪੩੫॥ महाकाल रखवार हमारो ॥ महा लोह मैं किंकर थारो ॥ अपना जान करो रखवार ॥ बाहि गहे की लाज बिचार ॥४३५॥ The Supreme Kal (God) is my Protector and O Steel-Purusha Lort ! I am Thy slave; Protect me, considering me as Thy own and do me the honour of catching my arm.435. ਅਪਨਾ ਜਾਨ ਮੁਝੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਰੀਐ ॥ ਚੁਨ ਚੁਨ ਸ਼ੱਤੁ ਹਮਾਰੇ ਮਰੀਐ ॥ ਦੇਗ ਤੇਗ ਜਗ ਮੈ ਦੋਊ ਚਲੈ ॥ ਰਾਖ ਆਪ ਮੁਹਿ ਅਉਰੁ ਨ ਦਲੈ ॥੪੩੬॥ अपना जान मुझे प्रतिपरीऐ ॥ चुन चुन श्तु हमारे मरीऐ ॥ देग तेग जग मै दोऊ चलै ॥ राख आप मुहि अउरु न दलै ॥४३६॥ Sustain me, considering me as Thy own and destroy my enemies, picking them up; O Lord with Thy Grace, let the free kitchen and Sword (for the protection of the lowly;) ever flourish through me and none should be able to kill me except You.436. ਤੁਮ ਮਮ ਕਰਹੁ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਰਾ ॥ ਤੁਮ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਮੈ ਦਾਸ ਤਿਹਾਰਾ ॥ ਜਾਨ ਆਪਨਾ ਮੁਝੈ ਨਿਵਾਜ ॥ ਆਪ ਕਰੋ ਹਮਰੇ ਸਭ ਕਾਜ ॥੪੩੭॥ तुम मम करहु सदा प्रतिपारा ॥ तुम साहिब मै दास तिहारा ॥ जान आपना मुझै निवाज ॥ आप करो हमरे सभ काज ॥४३७॥ Sustain me ever, O Lord! Thou art my Master and I am Thy slave; be Gracious towards me, considering me as Thy own and complete all my works.437. ਤੁਮ ਹੋ ਸਭ ਰਾਜਨ ਕੇ ਰਾਜਾ ॥ ਆਪੇ ਆਪੁ ਗਰੀਬ ਨਿਵਾਜਾ ॥ ਦਾਸ ਜਾਨ ਕਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਮੁਹਿ ॥ ਹਾਰ ਪਰਾ ਮੈ ਆਨ ਦ੍ਵਾਰ ਤੁਹਿ ॥੪੩੮॥ तुम हो सभ राजन के राजा ॥ आपे आपु गरीब निवाजा ॥ दास जान करि क्रिपा करहु मुहि ॥ हार परा मै आन द्वार तुहि ॥४३८॥ O Lord! Thou art eh king of all kings and Gracious towards the poor; be Benevolent towards me, considering me as Thy own, because, I have surrendered and fallen at Thy Gate.438. ਅਪਨਾ ਜਾਨ ਕਰੋ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਰਾ ॥ ਤੁਮ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਮੈ ਕਿੰਕਰ ਥਾਰਾ ॥ ਦਾਸ ਜਾਨ ਦੈ ਹਾਥ ਉਬਾਰੋ ॥ ਹਮਰੇ ਸਭ ਬੈਰੀਅਨ ਸੰਘਾਰੋ ॥੪੩੯॥ अपना जान करो प्रतिपारा ॥ तुम साहिबु मै किंकर थारा ॥ दास जान दै हाथ उबारो ॥ हमरे सभ बैरीअन संघारो ॥४३९॥ Sustain me, considering me as Thy own; Thou art my Lord and I am Thy slave; considering me as Thy slave, save me with Thy own hands and destroy all my enemies.439. ਪ੍ਰਥਮ ਧਰੋ ਭਗਵਤ ਕੋ ਧਯਾਨਾ ॥ ਬਹੁਰ ਕਰੋ ਕਬਿਤਾ ਬਿਧਿ ਨਾਨਾ ॥ ਕਿਸ਼ਨ ਜਥਾ ਮਤ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਉਚਾਰੋ ॥ ਚੂਕ ਹੋਇ ਕਬਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਸੁਧਾਰੋ ॥੪੪੦॥ प्रथम धरो भगवत को धयाना ॥ बहुर करो कबिता बिधि नाना ॥ किशन जथा मत चरित्र उचारो ॥ चूक होइ कबि लेहु सुधारो ॥४४०॥ At the very outset, I meditate on Bhagavata (Lord-God) and then endeavour to compose various types of poesy; I speak out the memories of Krishna according to my; intellect and if there remins any shortcoming in it, then the poets may improve it.440. ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦੇਵੀ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਸਮਾਪਤਮ ॥ इति स्री देवी उसतति समापतम ॥ End of the eulogy of the Goddess. Krishna avtar, Dasam Granth My request is that do not interpret Dasam Granth with Hindu terminology as it is misleading.Dasam Granth condemns idol worshipping very forcefully and more than any otehr sikhs scripture.

  4. In my view USA/canada and UK are not same.US and Canada are countires of immigrants.So public perception is different.Hence we should not see this problem from the same angle.
  5. There are two things 1 Abnormal things do happen.All are not saints. We should not be unduly concerned about stary acts of violence.If someone commits that law will take care of that. 2 This act of some to issue an indirect threat to some so that they do not appear at parade seems to be settling political score in the name of religion. Thius should eb condemned in the strongest possible language.This is pure thuggery especially when these peopel are themselves not clean. Having said this you also need to read a book soft target.The book details how some sikhs become pliable at hands of its enemies for fringe benefits.Apart from promoting sikhism We need to encourage sikhs to go for good education also.Presently ther is ghetto type mentality among many sikhs in BC area of canada and there is rampant gang mentality going on wher many precious lives have been lost.

Dashmesh Darbar is supporting Ragi adrshan's blasphemic acts and invite Harjinder dilgeer to speak in gurudwara.They do not ahve interest of sikhs at heart.May be They are playing politics to bring down image of Sikhs.

The news about his governorship is another phony news.It will take decades before a non-white becomes Governor-General in canada.Resistance to his candiadcy falls in the same category as opposition to kirpan and admittance of a sikh in RCMP a few years back. Today there are Amrit Sanchars carried out with only Japji Sahib and Anand Sahib being read, instead of the required five banis that also include Jaap Sahib, Tve Prasaad Svaye, and Chaupai Sahib. The plan of the anti-panthic agents was quite simple, build up a critical mass of the uncritical (unthinking), attack the foundations of the Sikh dharm to create splits in the panth at as many points as possible, and then attack the Guru Granth Sahib ji itself. Under this plan some agents only attack the Dasam Granth Sahib, while others attack at all possible points. In this way those wayward Sikhs who are only inclined to some limited degree of blasphemy will have some leader, some “scholar”, to look up to who can lead them in their attacks. While those beymukhs (those who turn their backs on the Guru) who have no limits to their hereticism can freely indulge in their attempts to remake Guru Nanak Sahib ji’s dharm as they wish. The potential end result of these circumstances conjure up a vision of a trail of deadly terror assaults, with scattered pockets of confused sangat wandering around the smoky remains of each breach in our dharm. Of course, it will never come to that end as Maharaj blessed the Sikhs with enough evidence of the authenticity of Dasam Granth Sahib and the rahit maryada that all those Sikhs who seek with a sincere heart will come to realise the truth. Raggi Darshan Singh has been invited to do vichaar numerous times, but he has either found some excuse to avoid it or simply ignored the invitations. The agenda of these people is to create division, not to do vichaar because vichaar is in the best interests of the panth. At protests his followers have been hiding weapons and attacking the protesters in an attempt to instigate them to fight back. They want Singhs to use violence so that our name is blackened in the media and the mainstream sangat, who are often unaware of the true complexity of events, turn on us. We need to clarify our objectives. The main goal is to win hearts and minds of mainstream sangat who are unaware of the propaganda. Violence can trigger a backlash from them. The attacks on Dasam Bani, Akaal Takht, Rahit Maryada, Amrit Sanchar, and now Guru Granth Sahib ji are merely methods of division being used. our goal is not to convince panth-dokhis, nor is it necessarily to shut them up (unless it’s by debate, which is why they are afraid of it), the ultimate goal is to convince the mainstream sangat so that the panth maintains its unity and walks in line with Gurmat. All other goals should be subservient to this ultimate goal. At each juncture we must ask ourselves, is this action that we are contemplating in the best interests of the panth? What are the potential downsides? The failure to employ hosh (correct thought and planning) before josh (effort/action) has ever been our community’s downfall. We should also employ an articulate Sikh at each protest to represent the panthic point of view to the media so that propagandaists do not have free reign with the newspapers and public opinion. We must look to the past. Whenever the panth has needed a renaissance it was from looking back to see what worked and then adapting it to the modern day. The puratan Singhs had so much self control they could take a beating without flinching in the morcha to regain control of the Gurdwara sahibs. I’m not saying defending Guru ji’s Bani is wrong, and I’m not saying we should do it exactly like puratan Singhs did, nor am I saying to take beatings, but we must alter the strategy in the best interests of the panth in each venue where protests happen. After guru gobind singh ji left for his heavenly abode, those people, who were desperate to label Babeh Nanak’s sikhi as just another offshoot of brahmanical religion, suddenly became active. The one and only purpose of these compositions was to make sikhi a part of Brahmanic ideology. Because the sikhs themselves were busy fighting wars, it became even more easy to push this conspiracy further and nirmalas, udhasis took this job in their hands. Not only books like ‘Gurbilas Patshahi 6′ and ‘Dasam Granth’, but almost all historical resources have been written by the nirmalas. The Srichandis (these people) these nirmalas and udhasis destroyed or burnt Babeh Nanak’s handwritten ‘Pothi Saihb’ and later wrote that this ‘Pothi’ was destroyed during wars. The ‘Cholaa’ of Babeh Nanak didnt get destroyed, the wooden sandles remained safe, every writing and memorials of all the other gurus and 35 bhagats remained safe, so was it that the wars had to only destroy the handwritten ‘Bani’ of Babeh Nanak? It is absolutely certain that these people made many changes to Guru Granth Sahib and started the bad trend of burning the older Birs [saroops] (so that every piece of evidence) could be destroyed, and started propagating the idea that ‘to do Sanskaar of old Birs’ is a part of religious duty. Only dead bodies are burnt. Do the old Birs symbolise the books of dead knowledge? Burning of knowledge can never be called an act of any religion. These people, in order to hide their ill-deeds, also started declaring that no changes can be made to any word, characters, or Matra of the bani of Guru Granth Sahib. To cover up their tracks, these very people, who had themselves made big changes, played this card to finalise their changes. There are many other religions. They also have their respected granths. No other religion made ‘Sanksaar’ or ‘Changes of words, characters and Maatras’ a sin. Why? Why didnt any Guru impose this kind of ban? Why did it occur to only nirmalas and udhaasis? There is a need to think, analyse and research this. Many proofs are surfacing that present evidence of thebut whenever anyone starts taking steps towards seeking the truth, the nirmalas and their agents start crying foul and say, “Look, he is raising objections against guru granth sahib. Those backstabbing of Babeh Nanak by nirmalas and udhaasis who screamed and shouted would never want the truth to surface and their plans explosed. We will write more on this later, for now however we want to give you the hint and pointer that right from the beginning, these srichandis have tried to backstab the philosophy of babeh nanak and have made a fool of the sikhs. These are the values upon which modern day democratic systems of the world stand and which have been incorporated by Democratic countries in their constitutions. For these supreme ideals, Ninth Guruji gave his life, attained Shaheedi in Delhi along with three of his Sikhs. Now for a moment, remove this from our history, our literature, our psyche! Can anyone of us, we believers or the Nindaks of Dasam Baani, present any historical account of Guruji’s shaheedi for Dharam. Answer is NO. There is no account of 17th century which says this. Mattewal backs probe panel advice CM asks DGP to register case Prabhjot Singh Tribune News Service Chandigarh, April 8 A media war over the alleged malicious writings related to various aspects of Sikhism has prompted the state government to invoke various provisions of the law to initiate action against those found guilty. Acting on the recommendations of the Advocate-General Hardev Singh Mattewal, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has asked Director-General of Police PS Gill to get a case registered at Amritsar and get proper investigations conducted. It all started on April 2 when the SGPC chief Avtar Singh Makkar accompanied by a delegation of the Sant Samaj and chief of Damdami Taksal met the Chief Minister to demand action against a Punjabi newspaper published from Mohali for its “alleged malicious writings about Sikh Gurus, Guru Granth Sahib, and various institutions of the Sikhs”. On the memorandum submitted by the delegation, the Chief Minister observed that since it was a serious issue, an in-depth study of the writings from a legal point of view be conducted and report given in two days’ time. A three-member inquiry committee comprising three Additional Advocates-General — AS Jattana, Uttam Singh Dhaliwal and Baljinder Singh Sra — was constituted by the Advocate-General. The committee went through the memorandum as well as the alleged malicious writings. It observed that the “author has consistently, deliberately and maliciously questioned some of the very basic principles, practices and beliefs of the Sikh religion and its institutions, namely the five Takhts, Banis of the Nitnem and Sikh Ardas, etc, etc. “All this is grossly offensive and provocative being an attempt to insult and outrage the feelings of the Sikhs by questioning their religion and religious beliefs. It is the basic article of faith of the Sikhs that Guru Granth Sahib is the living Guru of the Sikhs and embodies a divine message.” The committee held that these publications comprehended within the meaning of the offence as defined in Section 295-A of the IPC and suggested that the matter should be sent immediately to the Director-General of Police for taking necessary action forthwith. And since the main complainants are the SGPC chief Makkar and the Damdami Taksal chief Baba Harnam Singh, the committee also recommended that a case be registered at Amritsar. The Advocate-General besides endorsing the recommendations also quoted the Supreme Court in SGPC vs Som Nath Dass case where the holiest book of the Sikhs, Guru Granth Sahib, compiled by the fifth Guru, Guru Arjan Dev, has been described as the Bible of the Sikhs.
