  1. So Gujjar, the world is moved on and Gujjars are still fighting battles of the past. Fighting NATO, should you guys be awarded medals for petty wars. Yes, I fully agree Sikh fought for the British because the riches that were promised and received. It's the Gujjars who get treated as absolutely filth. It's remarkably easy to come on this forum and spew out countless amount of hearsay.
  2. The guys name was Bhadur Singh, he use to live in the UK. Well know in the UK Student Sikh Society's around 2002 to 2005. Then he converted to Isalm and lived in Iran and called him self Bhadur Shah. Now, he has gone back to his original name. I knew the guy well, he was a good friend of my cousin.
  3. dalsingh101 - You are a prime example of a person who will discriminate, for goodness sake you are even discriminating in this post. I'd say as humans we do have some need for some sort of 'tribal identity - What the f**K does this mean? and this It's like a scientific community deeming those who are less scientifically developed as them as infinitely lesser beings (like Europeans did Africans) The Indian culture fuels on discrimination, caste is a prime example. I think one of the great and immediately beneficial aspects of simran is to get a deeper insight into discreet processes that take place with the mind that effect human behaviour (the chattering ego). You speak about Simran, The whole point of simran is to get away for the "I", do you actually understand "why" the reason for doing Simran? Religion causes large majority of wars. Fair statement. You apparently think this is a dump statement. Why?
  4. Fair point, but where is the root cause of the problem? I think the article you have posted answers your question. This has nothing to do with religion. It all about an obsolete culture, which has failed the nation.
  5. Yes, I agree. But what is Indian doing about it. Here is another article, which is also interesting. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-29950843- The students who feel they have the right to cheat
  6. Everyone, I was surfing the web this weekend and found the following articles. Very interesting, India, the country which considers itself the next superpower. The next big economy, which will represent it's Asian neighbours to the world. This is what we truly want India to be. But is India evolving with the times? India still lives and abides by a system, which is over 3000 years. The system became obsolete many centuries ago but still practised today e.g. Caste system, Dowry system, female foeticide and many more. Some of the articles as examples: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-india-29983752- Indian woman paraded naked on donkey http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-india-30015752- India sterilisation deaths: Chhattisgarh protests as toll climbs http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-india-29655662- Indian athlete Debjani Bora beaten in 'witch hunt' http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-south-asia-14117505 - Is India's population policy sexist? Reading through some of the comments in the articles, a comment made by a person mentioned a film, which was released in 2005 called : Matrubhoomi: A Nation Without Women. So,I decided to watch it, not for the light hearted but you could say its a extreme way of thinking. Matrubhoomi - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I would be great to see some feedback on what people think.
  7. Yeah and you are an expert in this matter. Not seeing a specialist for your mental illness? I can tell.
  8. Yes, I do agree but in everyday society it could not be abolished and especially in the times of the Gurus. Maybe this is the downfall of the Sikh dharam, the followers. Bertrand Arthur William Russell, 3rd Earl Russell, OM, FRS, (18 May 1872 – 2 February 1970), Russell had this to say about Sikhism. "That if some lucky men survive the onslaught of the third world war of atomic and hydrogen bombs, then the Sikh religion will be the only means of guiding them." Russell was asked that he was talking about the third world war, but isn't this religion capable of guiding mankind before the third world war? In reply, Russell said, "Yes, it has the capability, but the Sikhs have not brought out in the broad daylight, the splendid doctrines of this religion which has come into existence for the benefit of the entire mankind. This is their greatest sin and the Sikhs cannot be freed of it." This statement above by Russell sums it up.
  9. The gurus spoke about the abolishment of caste system on spiritual level and that spirituality starts in the Ahsrams and Gurudwars. Caste in daily life will never be abolished, unless the Indian mentality changes.
  10. Fair point, it could be migrant workers coming to Punjab from other states. Also, population of Indian has been increasing over the years. 17.5% of the world population live in India, compare that to the U.S., 4.43%. Asia Asia is home to 60 percent of global population. China and India account for more than half of Asia’s total population. China’s total fertility rate is a very low 1.5 children per woman. Should China become concerned about population aging and relax its strict “one-child” policy, projections of China’s population may have to be raised. In India, the TFR has fallen from about 5.5 children in the past to 2.4 today. But doubts about the future course of the birth rate in India’s heavily populated and impoverished northern states make projections challenging. Nonetheless, India is projected to pass China in population size in about 15 years, becoming the world’s most populous country, about 1.5 billion people. http://www.prb.org/Publications/Datasheets/2013/2013-world-population-data-sheet/data-sheet.aspx#map/world/population/2013

  12. Apology Baghatsingh, just wanted few things cleared up.
  13. If AKJ are not orthodox, what are they? Just a question, I've have always seen them stubborn as a mule in their Sikh sentiments.
  14. Sorry mate, I'm at the fair to watch the attractions.
  15. My cousin sister got married and she wore something like this: http://www.bollywoodstores.com/image/cache/data/bollywoodstores/sample-lenghas/Lengha-gold-bollywoodstores-sample-17-800x800.jpg
  16. point 2 yes the same can comply if it is done with the panth in focus. So, who is going to bring this "Path in focus" in mainstream politics?
  17. The Orthodox for e.g. AKJ, Taksali Link you may find interesting: https://www.facebook.com/pages/We-urge-Akal-Takhat-to-declare-3ho-group-as-a-CULT/112690045466688
  18. From what I can see and have experienced, since the death of Yogi Bahjan, 3ho have increased their relations with the Santhan lot.
  19. Some Hard line Sikhs in the UK are criticising the 3ho and these are the same hard-line Sikhs who have achieved changes in the way marriages are conducted within Sikh temples. e.g. The brides brothers are not part of Lavan process The same Hard-line Sikhs, who made sure only kesh dhari and Amritdhari Sikhs are allowed to be part of the Gurdwara committees. The same Hard-line Sikhs, who are not allowing women to do Kirtan in darbar sahib. Just some of the actions, which have been achieved by hard-line Sikhs.
  20. Fair enough. But politicians are using religion to set-up their own agendas. Is this not correct? Now, living in the 21st century, can the same comply (mixing religion with politics)? If so, please explain, it would be interesting to find your point of view.
  21. you'll find that they will already have shunned the sanatani clowns. Interesting, what brings you to this conclusion?
