  2. ... I totally agree with you kaur1699. It's sad how people have even categorised 'amrit', by saying that they were baptised by xyz jatha, rather than saying that they were baptised by the panj pyare/Guru Gobind Singh ji if somebody does ask them.
  3. I was just wondering if anybody else has noticed the following and whether they think it is right: After the bhog of sri Akhand Path and the ardas, when a hukamnama is taken from Guruji, I have noticed at my local gurdwara that the giani sometimes selects a certain hukamnama related to the intention of seva for the Akhand Path. For example, if it is a happy occasion (such as the 1st birthday of a boy) then a very specific hukamnama seems to be deliberately selected on this subject. :? Should the hukamnama be purely at random.
  4. I totally agree with this :!: I heard a kathakar talking about this once and to support the above statement he was saying that the reason why Dasam Granth is not to be regarded at the same level as Sri Guru Granth Sahib is because it contains Guru Gobind Singh ji's own katha. Whereas Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji does not contain any personal katha of any of the gurus.
  5. Nihang Gargaj Singh wrote: Well I am pretty sure you are wrong  Nihang Gargaj Singh, where is your evidence to back up such a statement :?:
  6. I use to be of the same opinion: won't get married until I am at least 26-27. But now at the age of 27, my opinions have changed somewat. My parents and I are finding it quite difficult to find a changee girl who is also religious minded, as I think it's important to be on the same wavelength in order to make life easier. Anyway, I am sticking to my guns and see what happens ...8)
  7. An example of the lying in Islaam at the highest and most public level is when the mughal army & co had surrounded Anandpur sahib, and laid a seige to it for over 7 months. After this time Aurungzeb became desparate and gave an oath on the koran that if Guru Gobind Singh ji and the sangat left the Anandpur fort they would not be attacked at all - just that they should leave the fort. Guru Gobind Singh ji stated that this was not a good idea and that the enemy should not be trusted - and to hold out for a short while longer. However after repeated requests from the sangat, Guru ji acceped the sangat's views to leave the fort. We all should know what happened when Guru ji with his family and the sadh sangat left Anandpur Sahib. The mughal army attacked at the first chance.
  8. I am not saying the Khalsa panth is not going through a difficult period, but if cruel tyrannical dictators like Nadir Shah, Abdali, Zikria and Aurungzeb could not "finish off" sikhi (and they clearly stated they would not stop at anything less) when the Sikh population was much lower - then i'm confident in saying the current devious rulers of India will not be successful. :!: Khalsa amar rahoo ga
  9. I am not a 100% sure on this topic, but I thought that Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji is forever with us, through the presence of the Khalsa - and that our eternal guru will always be Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji (ie. no deh dharis). Also rather than discussing about the potential attack on Harmandir Sahib in the future, should we not discuss the current state of sikhi after nearly 20 years post 1984, and compare this to the sacrifice made by the numerous shaheeds for the khalsa panth. I look forward to hearing what ppl think about this.
