  1. Lol, you're a funny guy Mugermach Singh! I've heard all sorts of things about what could happen to Blaine, such as body organs shrinking and that he could go insane, lose 30 pounds of weight...
  2. What are the views of you people out there on David Blaine and his stunts? I know some of his magic has been exposed, but are his stunts illusions too? That one in NY last year seemed real, but some of the others seem suspect, especially that one in the bloack of ice. I reckon he's fooling people, but am not entirely sure...is he mad, brave or just very clever???
  3. "anniversity" did you mean university or anniversary (lol, I know which one u meant really!) (anniversary)! Maybe they could include "anniversity" as a new word in the next edition of the Oxford dictionary!
  4. Does it matter whether we are male or female??? This relates in a way to women not being allowed to do sewa at Sri Harmandir Sahib...isn't gender difference just so that humans can reproduce? It's what's on the inside that counts...no? On a different issue slightly...women are by nature more suited to nurturing children. I am not saying that all women should stay at home and look after the children, but in my opinion, when children are quite young they yearn for their mata's love the most, no? I am not saying women cannot go out to work and leave the father to look after the children...that really would wrong to say, but what are other people's view on this subject, and in particular if they have any personal experiences to draw upon?
  5. Haven't NRI Sikhs spread Sikhi? And remember that not all of them wanted to go overseas, especially the past generations
  6. ARSENAL!!! Brookie is going!!! And I think for a person from liverpool, u seem refreshingly intelligent (not mentioning any names such as steven gerrard or steve mcmanaman)! And aren't like all liverpool players/ex players everton supporters, like owen, mcmanaman, carraghar, fowler...
  7. Lol veer, i had braces fitted a few years ago...and i didn't want them done! I think the site mods should answer the questions for you more than me...I am not as knowledgable, and I too share your concerns about cutting nails...but I guess the white bits are dead...
  8. What about the punishments we receive of badness/goodness of our past sins? Will they come exactly like our previous life? I mean, say if we got really angry unnecessarily with someone in this life and we did it a lot of times (bad thing), will this badness come back in the same form at us in future life (i.e. we will be gotten angry at many times exactly as in this life), or could it come in a different form(s), like something majorly bad happens in one go that is equal to several of these times that we get angry at someone in this life??? I am confused, I understand the basic concept of reincarnation, that we reap what we sow, that we must break the cycle to realise Waheguru, but how exactly do actions in lives mirror themselves in future lives in terms of good deeds meaning good in future and bad deeds leading to punishment/suffering in future? If you can still keep up with what I am saying, please respond to my query...
  9. Some people get their sons married to a family just for the dowry innit, which I completely disagree with...too many stupid arguments over that. The match of the male and female has got to be the singlemost imporatnt thing.
  10. What happens if it's 11%??? :sikhiwink1:
  11. Dhoor721 - Isn't hair given by God, so therefore completely natural, but we add things outside our body i.e. jewellery, karas etc (not earrings which put a hole in the body) which are completely different. We wear paghs and dustaar cos they cover and protect a vast amount of hair, no? Next you might be saying "why do we wear clothes?" If God wanted you to cut hair, why does it keep growing back?
  12. Is hockey exclusively "pindoo"? As in no one plays it in shehars much do they?
  13. Thanks veer, I have read that story long ago too, but I still do not understand, why "O Lalo", is this just for inspiration in remembering Bhai Lalo?
  14. Raja Janak is mentioned as a king in GGSJ, and was supposedly very great, and found Saachkhand I believe. Is it true that something like he was asked if he had any wishes, and he said, to release all those in hell, and that according to all the Paath he did, this outweighed the weight of those in hell. Can anyone add anything more to this?
  15. I have never understood this, because it comes in a lot of Hukamana, but what is "O Lalo"?
  16. I think it is pretty much obvious to most people how high in regard Hindus hold the River Ganges (stampedes and all!), but I have also heard that it can be holy water for Sikhs too. Is this in any way true?
  17. I know of at least two Sikh websites where you can do full and detailed search of Guru Granth Sahib Ji, but if anyone can tell give me details of more, please do! However, the main thing is I want to know of good websites where you can do search of Bible, Koran, Vedas, etc. Any one the world's main relgions will do, thanks!
  18. Doesn't Badal have loads of hotels and stuff in New York? And is it true that he induldges in eating fish and stuff?
  19. Has anyone got less common scenarios, I mean discluding such obvious issues as Sikhs being confused with Muslims?
  20. Gabroo Khalistan Dah - please refer to God as "God" please! I apologise if i have ever done the same mistake before
  21. Has anyone seen someone come into Gurdwara and deliberately with full intention not metha thek?
  22. I would like to take this opportunity to ask Sikhs out there about any times people/friends have made a comment about Sikhi or asked a question which shows they have had misconceptions about Sikhi, confused it with other religions, or have just been plain offensive. How have you answered these people's questions, how you felt maybe, how your friend/person felt when you put them straight. I would just like to see what the core of the problems are when strangers don't know much about Sikhi.
