I'm guessing some Sikhs have shanka - doubts over sikhi to the point they don't even believe in those kurbanis (acts of sacrifice/martyrdom) because there are instances of miracles and the super natural makes people doubt the entire thing, like Baba Deep Singh picking up his own head to fight.
But with that there have been Sikhs who have been beheaded in Pakistan and Afghanistan recently, perhaps people put that down to minor disputes, not one my caste/relative. Perhaps people are wrapped around the media so much that if the mainstream media don't cover Sikhs being killed in Afghanistan it never happened for them, but at the same time we don't hear about the beatings the taliban give to other muslims like lashing going on.

Maybe Sikh history is depressing and you can get away from it but getting away from mainstream media is hard, but with many media stories they get forgotten about over time, current affairs don't always make it to the history lessons of tomorrow.

Perhaps due to some sikhs feeling xenophobia/racism/contempt as of late due to mistaken identity with islamists and increase in coverage of islamist atrocities, many people want an apology from those with the islamist kin, we can't always separate ourselves from other humans and some people just have businesses, careers, education relationships to maintain and build and it's easier to say sorry for something you have nothing to do with or have relation with then to actually explain that you have nothing to do with it. I think many "Asiatic" religions have been brushed over to be branches of islamism at the moment by some less than affluent folk who have become a vocal minority.

I think without me doing enough research into it, the pro-vegetarian shabads are human right, women rights, animal rights and eco environmental right shabads and on other virtues like honest and integrity instead.

As per hunting there are different reasons, such as violent animals attacking innocent people Lions, Tigers, bears, killing innocent villagers, innocent children being eaten alive by wild beasts and attacking Sikhs. For game meat since other more suitable humbler foods were not at easy to get (which is an animal right issue more so), as well as sakhis of people being liberated, such as Mallu Khatri, it had been said Guru Nanak in his later jama (vessel) would later give him liberation after he died, he did alot of sewa but became rapped in ego, Guru Gobind Singh shot a wild animal which showed it's self to be Mallu Khatri to Sikhs.

But considering the lineage of the early Sikhs documented in Maharaja Ranjti Singh's time it seems more of them were hunters who ate meat, like the Patialla family, the Akali Nihangs, Ranjit Singh - the pro-vegg argument is that is all propoganda or they corrupted Sikhi, they were not following the truth. I say look at the not so pro-veggeterian shabads and ask why

One of the most pro-vegetarian Sikhs, Baba Nand Singh sat on a lion skin in many of his photos- I wonder why if he felt passionate about not harming animals.

I think gurus gave their ancestry so people wouldn't try create doubt about them and bani by writing out nonsense, had the gurus not written their ancestry brahmins could have said guru nanak was a brahmin and he taught brahmin mat, many illiterate sikhs would adopt brahminism or people might say they were of low caste and people might in a sense of overwhelming pride not feel courage in such a lower spirtual state to bow and follow such a guru, it shouldn't matter but for some in a primal spirtual state it matters.

We have people saying the gurus were muslims, some have written stuff about guru nanak converting his family to islam his wife being muslim, his sister being muslim etc. and we have the source ourselves to disprove it we have the janamsakhis and dasam granth to counter act that and ask the proof of those claims for which none exists. Our gurus taught many things we question but I feel the gurus in trying to create begumpura tried to destroy the caste system and allow others to marry.

Maharaja Ranjit Singh was open to the concept of marrying out of castes, some sikhs have married out of castes and it will carry on. As for the gurus carrying about legacy if caste, ancestry was so important, guru nanak would have given gurgaddi to his sons and guru gobind singh would have not let his sons be shaheed and allowed other sikhs to have instead.

Class and caste are different things but do meet sometimes, caste determines your occupation and respect in accordance to what your ancestors where. I don't think a doctors son should be a doctor he should study to be one and if he fails better then him killing patients. In India a hakeem-veds son is a hakeem-ved and you can see how silly some of the things hakeems say are even in accordance to hakeem-mat the knowledge of those herbal doctors is ruined by those who don't understand it. Additionally had the caste system remained intact mughal rule would have never ended one up the mughals had was how their casteless system allowed the best minds to thrive in a capitalistic way to provide better technology, information, architecture, academia. The shackles of the caste system only bind people downwards.

Gurmantar or MoolMantar? The one which is more important, powerful and should be stuck to shouldn't be done in terms of quantity but quality, which one you invoke with love and passion more. Besides you also got to look at the time factor gurmantar is quicker to do.

muhammad is no one. He didn't have any revelation of the great Guru Nanak dev ji. The false prophet named Muhammad had other last words which was inclusive of zeal of the cult he had formed in his lifetime. Muhammad died a slow and painful death followed by poisoning, who poisoned him is argued between either his child bride aisha or his jewish concubine whose husband muhammad had killed before taking her to his bed on the same day.

It's prohibited besides we see muslims praying to the dead in india anyway. Some sikhs have fallen for muhammden propoganda that some dead muhammaden will grant them health or other worldly stuff, all of Mo's powers are backwash compared to the power of bacon.

Simple to reconcile that pedophilla is an invention of the west in the last 100 years (ignoring the science behind the advances it underlining the problem of it), justify it with skewed history of people young but not as relatively young marrying. Which as an argument goes to then show that muhammdenism is an outdated religion which didn't stand the test of time till the end of times as it claims, and muhammad isn't perfect so it's claims are all bogus.

Explain freedom of speech doesn't exist hence capital punishment is justifiable, explain how torture is a great deterrent for crime (while shariah seems to make the criminals the ones who become incharge and immune), explain how blasphemy is the equivalent of treason in the "peaceful" muhammden state so people who go against muhammdenism have to die. And have absolutely no proof for all these bogus claims while romanticising things like muhammads rule and the Ottoman rule to be the best rule ever when in fact they were the worst rules in the entire history of humanity, it makes babloyan look far better.

Problem is simple, it's the nanaksari lie of all religions are exactly the same. All religions aren't the same, they should be tolerated and respected but aren't equivalent, it is miseducation and misinformation about understanding other religions. It's also how we blame ourselves for 1947 creation of pakistan, killing riots etc. And we teach an apologetic version of history. Regardless of how strict we get why is it that there is a whole group of gooris who don't fall for this stuff?

So it seems we can be liberal and maintain an identity, with many jews they seem to have a better handle on interfaith marriages, and are far liberal even more than sikhs aswell as being a smaller population. Many jewish men and women have their partner convert for them. It may have something to do with the lack of pride women have of being a Sikh. As well as the difference in social circles for men and women.

The british stirred up the riots in partition they put everyone against each other, we have sources now telling us they put pigs infront of mosques and cow heads in front of mandirs. They turned sikhs against muslims both fighting people went on a killing spree that went to the millions. Muslims took women converted and or raped them in the millions, sikhs and hindus took revenge and some raped muslim women, kidnapped some converted them, more revenge followed it was a blood spree everywhere. Nehru, Gandhi, Jinaah and the British watched each party went to there own power, money and so forth while humanity killed itself, people lost homes and businesses, hatred was left in there hearts. These are the stories of our grandparents we hear as 2nd, 3rd, 4th generations from that as time goes on we will all end up forgetting such events perhaps we will not exist with time.

    Interesting fragment from 10004:

The first sentence is a fragment, couldn't make the start out: Here's a quick bash at translation -

The saints deliberate on fearing Oankar Oansorara(?) Now it starts rhyming: ਸਾਧੋ ਕਰੋ ਬਿਚਾਰਉ ਲਿਟ ਘਰ ਅਪਨੇ ਆਵੋ। The saints preach that we should come home and lie down Brahm gathers rare laughter within hearts Is the mystery of the four vedas; the understanding of the gita The slave of Nanak knows to himself; that's why I am your beloved The yogi of all yogas, the knower of all knowledge The Siddh of all Siddhs, ????

Interesting speculation: at the mo (to me), it appears to be some devotional work that isn't Gurbani. It's obviously heavily influenced by Sikh religious poetry. It seems to be some poets devotional composition.
