  1. J Singh Veerji, It's definetly going ahead this weekend at the temporary site of Gurdwara Karamsar. I think they will just make do however best they can. There were originally not going to do an Amrit Sanchar until August or even Dasmesh Pita's Gurpurb due to the lack of space in the temporary site. However, Roseberry Ave Gurdwara, the 2 Singh Sabha's and Ramgharia forwarded some people who wished to take Amrit this Vaisakhi to Karamsar Gurdwara and hence it was decided to have 1 main one in Ilford. At this stage I think the number of people who have put their name down for Amrit is just over 15 so I think they will be able to have the Amrit Sanchar at the temporary Karamsar Gurdwara. Otherwise it may be at Roseberry Ave Gurdwara, will really know by Saturday. The Sanchar will commence at 12.00pm 25 Apr 2004.
  2. It would be great if he is, he has been in the Punj Pyaray in Amrit Sanchars of the past. Babaji has been a great inspiration to my family and the sangat of East London. Sikhi is flourishing in Ilford with the help of the Rara Sahib sewadars
  3. Thanks N30 Veerji, Anyone else living in East London there's a big Amrit Sanchar Sunday 25 April 04 at Gurdwara Karamsar - Ilford. All the 5 local Gurdwara's are getting together to have one big Amrit Sanchar under the Khalsa banner. I think it's brilliant and shows that there is ekta in the panth.
  4. About keeping the top part of the dastar open. Would a dumalla be a problem? With Guruji's Kirpa I will be taking Amrit this weekend and would like to wear a dumalla. Should I let the top be loose??
  5. Can you keep a marital relationship if one member of the couple is Amritdahri? I mean the sharing of Jhoot etc... What happens in this case?? I am in the same situation and really wanna chak Amrit this year. AKJ, Tapoban & Taksal say you can't do it. Rara Sahib, Nanaksar & SGPC say you can do it..... My parents say its OK, my friends say it's againts maryada ???
  6. The Suleman incidents took place was at RaraSahib, whilst Sant Isher Singh Ji was in darbar. To be honest I had only read about the discussions with Suleman or it was been mentioned by Sevadars at RaraSahib who were present in the 1960s, I only heard the one recording very recently (since someone put it on the net). The incident in the UK that you are refering to might be something to do with Baba Puran Singh Kerichowale (who started Nishkam Sewa Jatha, Soho Road, Birmingham). I vaguely remembering hearing about a similar incident that took place in the UK (possibly in Southall) in the 1970s which was witnessed by a small number in the sangat on that day ( I believe the Sangat was requested to leave by Baba Puran Singh and a few GurSikhs remained). There was a lenghthy discussion of which all I rememeber being told is that the spirit/pret (whatever they are called) had possesed someone and had been trying to enter a Darbar of Guru Nanak for many years. Maybe the recording you heard relates to that, although I am not 100% sure. Maybe someone can confirm whether an incident took place when Baba Puran Singh was in darbar in the UK.
  7. Ease up Jathedarji.. You're on a different wavelength to me.
  8. I agree with your quote. So what you're saying is that if if you really love the beauty the Akal Purakh's given to you, then you one should dress it up with piercings and tatoos.
  9. Isn't piercing and tatooing a sign of vanity? As a GurSikh are we not supposed to move away from Egoistic things, one of which is vanity? One only pierces their ears or body to look more 'beautiful'. Once you get your ears pierced, you will buy ear rings that you can show off to the world. You will seek compliments If you have a tatoo, you are bound to want to show it off. Again you will seek compliments from the world. These in turn will boost your Ego. In simple terms. If we spend less time admiring ourselves in the mirror we have more time to do read Gurbani or do Gursewa.
  10. Baba Santpartap Singh ji of Karamsar Gurdwara in Ilford has discussed this Sakhi in the Darbar many times. He was a child when this incident occured and was present at RaraSahib. Suleman remained within the Gurdwara complex for sometime before he was reborn as a Sikh. Babaji and many other Sikh who were sevadars at RaraSahib actively spoke to Suleman during that period. Suleman was reborn as a Sikh in the late 60s to GurSikh parents who were sevadars at RaraSahib.
