Yeh, but don't you think that it's the later and recent generations ?
The sikhs that had settled pre-80's just kept their heads down and got on with work and home. They avoided displays of scenarios and never tried to attract too much attention..........(well that's my opinion from what I perceived)

Yep, I guess he's just trying to promote and obviously trying to get white folk in.
Like Bhagat says....'' Non-Sikh-->Non-Sikh dressed like Sikh-->Sikh with pub, cut beard, marriage dress-->Sikh''

He's still sikh to some scale, but if full bearded amritdhari sikhs don't want to class him as some level of sikh, then they are just talibanising sikhi.

Im not sure why he put the wedding outfit on....maybe wearing that with turban and kirpan is the most 'sikh' he has ever felt physically....especially if your a mona.
(When i was mona and got dressed like that for my wedding, it was the most 'royal like singh' feeling that could ever be expressed in my aura at that time!)

The problem is that we let prejudice govern our ego's too easily... the first glance of the news above....we see the word sikh,...then we see pub... then we see the dress up and immediately start nodding our heads!..tut..tut..
The guys not promoting sikhi, he's trying to promote the fact that he appreciates and understands the gora festive season and that this should help bring in some more custom for his business.

Besides, how else does he describe himself or wants the gora to their family?
......Not going to want goray saying ''we going to that pub run by pakis".... or "the brown asian guy's pub''
Most goray are pretty much aware if the brown asian belongs to hindu, muslim or sikh culture and that's how they will label him and his family.

Sikh is the descriptive term that is used to differentiate from muslim and hindus in this sense. It's a good identifier and way for them to categorize the brown asian guys
This is why some goray understand that sikh cultures are different and try adapting to western life and contribute to society whereas pakistani muslims would rather drain the welfare systems.
This is how most of them perceive us differently and appreciate the positive impacts we have made for the economy.

And besides, if he were full amritdhari ....then there would certainly be some questions to raise but we are just jumping the gun here because the word sikh was used !
And Dalsingh is probably aware of just how many full amritdhari sikhs in UK own off-licenses and newsagents.
(for those of you outside UK...off-license is liquor store and newsagents sell tobacco)

    Dalsingh101,
That's some good material you've shown us.
You've down really well in learning gurmukhi and punjabi as a 2nd generation. I bet you know dudes in your age group that wouldn't have a clue !

I kind of made it difficult for myself as i did attempt punjabi school at age 9 or something, but no one in those days done any serious learning.
I am actually in my 40's and a 3rd generation because my grandparents came over in1949/50, and my father was raised there in UK as well. He learned it pretty well because of my grandparents, but it was a different story for me being raised in pure white gora land.
My father was very good and disciplined me well in terms of speaking and understanding punjabi, so i have never had any problems with pronunciation.
Being self taught and starting to seriously learn after my 30's, i still have lots of room for improvement.
I wish i could read it a lot faster.

I do find that reading shabads and gurbani whilst listening to the audio helps improve it a great deal, and i do this as often as i can.
Most of the punjabis I meet, don't ever believe that I'm 3rd generation born in the early 70's, and I know that nearly every 3rd gen. in my same age group got completely 'whitewashed'
Most of the one's I knew got married to gorey and can hardly speak any punjabi.

Anyway, you probably heard this, but the lyrics are quite strong. It's by a late 80's born and raised 2nd generation brummie lad. He went and studied in India to further his punjabi boli

I know it's a post from last year. I don't recall coming across it, but yes, I can give a few pointers if interested.
After 40,  the workout regime has to change for males. Especially if you want to maintain or want an even stronger and fitter body.
If you find that doing lunges, deadlifts, shoulder press, bench press is not giving results like it may have done years ago, then the answer is "testosterone". Change diet and add nutrients especially, Vitamin D3 high dose,  Magnesium, Zinc,  D-aspartic acid, Fenugreek, Boron, Vitamin K1 and K2,,......to name a few.   Also recommend plenty of ginger(daily), coconut oil, broccoli, garlic, cabbage, greens, beans,. Avoid soy at all costs and limit fried foods, flaxseed and all processed junk.
Need to spend more time pumping and doing compound exercise with weights. Keep intense cardio workouts a minimum and don't slog it out on cardio if trying to warm up prior to lifting and pulling.
the diet and workout approach should yield positive results within a couple of months. I say this because my body reactions and recovery are quite slow, but within 2 months my invisible six pack started appearing.
I've also started to take citrulline malate prior to workouts as it boosts nitrous oxide and blood flow.

During my nde in coma, I also came back from the court of dharmraj. Was instructed to go back and -nam jap- these were the 2 clear words. I came back and spent a few years from 2011 to find out what real nam jap is and what I should be doing.  I'm on the bhagtee marj but I still have loads to to. Thing that shocked me was the man in video who had been sent back was told he'd got 10 years to go and jap. I wasn't given a time but it is now 2021.. nearly 10 years since the incident.. This is like a kick up the backside because i've got so may things to do in bhagtee and stuff to sort at home..

I think that you wanna do stairs with own body weight. The dumbells will put extra pressure on joints and also -->spinal compression.
This in turn leads to a lot of back and trapezius pains.
In my opinion, in terms of body kinetics,.. using own body weight gives more control and flexibility and will be better for joints and cartilage issues of arthritis in later life.
They normally recommend cardio, aerobics  to get the fat burning along with attention to diet.

He was even at the 3HO sat nam fest back in 2012 I think !
Whether he was giving some serious thought about becoming a sikh at one time.....I have no idea !... but it looks like he paid a little more than just interest.

There have been a number of celebs doing kundalini yoga with most of them from hollywood scene.

Simple answer is not a yes or a no... but the question is who is the ''real pakhandi or faker''?
It's me and you mate...us... the manmukhs..that question the integrity or higher order of some other gursikh.
    ....
You may say, ''what gives the other gursikh such higher order or status ?"
Well, i would say that if there is some gursikh or bhai sahib amongst us that could teach us a thing or two, and in turn we may learn something from them..... then in turn, they would have such a higher order/status than me & you.
So if I want to be a faker and question the teacher.. then that makes me the real pakhandi.

Besides the guy doing the slating is from the group of missionaries that deny dasam bani, deny naam simran and very openly promote khula maas(from macdonalds) instead of looking at meat issue with regards to nihang/warrior/jhatka tradition.

They have the charms and persuasions of wrongly distorting gurbani for their own personal agendas.... so what deal and how difficult would it be for them to distort the lifestyle, kamayee, gyaan of some gursikh ?

I agree samurai, the sulleh numbers seem to be increasing in Canada. The sulleh problems used to piss me off too when I was in UK. The Canadians kind of shocked me at first because they seemed too oblivious to sulleh attitudes and their corrupt agendas. They seem to be a generation or two behind here and are basically at the stage where UK Sikhs were in late 70's and early 80's.. ..The majority of second generation muslims are just elementary school kids yet. I can very easily imagine how they will be in 10-15 years and the same uk sulleh scenarios start happening in places like Brampton and Surrey.
    @gunahgar
yes, Uk Sikhs are tougher in that sense because they have had to face some serious shit over the years. Problem in Canada is that the 'tough' factor is more related to gang warfare and crimes.

All tickets were sold out yesterday except for an extra screening today for which the 4 last seats were available....so we got these yesterday and went an hour early today and even then two thirds of the auditorium was already occupied !!

The film was excellent and I was surprised that the 3D quality was a good standard since I wasn't expecting much after reading a review that the effects were only very basic 3D !!!

It was portrayed very well and even though we very much know the events beforehand, it still bought many tears to my eyes.
My kids were very touched and I feel it gave them a little awakening too.
We need more of this and there is no reason why we don't since enough money gets wasted on inappropriate media.

I may go and see it again on the weekend and I very highly recommend everyone see it.

Trust me guys, this thing is bigger than you think.
I've mentioned on some other thread before and also about why I don't carry no cellphone in my pocket and nor do I keep wifi on 24/7.  I see the future plagued by mental health issues as a big problem in society along with cancer.  General pollution and contaminants in food destabilise our cells, and this leads to all the crap we suffer. Cellphone, Wi-Fi and broadcasting electronics all emit radiations and these are in your phone's as well.  Just because we can't see the crap in the air, we shrug our shoulders. At the end of the day, the mental effects are apparent amongst the young youth of today and it will only get worse.
If you want your sukham sareer to be healthy and full active, it makes sense to avoid the many sukham pollutants around you. Everything that is man-made and put into soil, sea and air environments, is in effect displacing something else that is already present(Archimedes-eureka!).Therefore, we are simply screwing with play of nature and causing a shift in natural balance.   For that, there will be guaranteed consequences as per hukam.

Enormous amounts of energy and very little sleep. Other's start worriyng thinking that you have insomnia. Quite often I have sat in simran for several hours from early amrit-vela at 2.00 /2.30 am until about 7.30 am when kids are getting up.
Not explainable really. But you do realize the amount of spiritual energy that gets drained unknowingly by the ways in which most people live and spend their days, especially when they think they are doing things to relax.
YES! this is when you can connect to the naam/shabad 24/7.   Hammering and ignoring the 5 dhuts gives you control over maya. All of our maya ties and problems start off in the thought processes of Duality. It's either this or that..  When you have no thoughts and just focus on the EK, the dhoots start to back off a little.

Good on you boy for kicking kaam in the face!  I'm sure that your gonna reach even greater heights.  There's  a lot of confusion and misunderstanding about kaam and people think that it is necessary to procreate. It's not!

I've had both pfizer doses and realized that even though i wasn't too fussed about my own protection, it's for the protection of others that matters more to me.
