Recommended Posts

Please post the puratan mangal charns both in punjabi and in english dedicated towards vahiguroo parbhram both in nirgun and in sargun- our guru sahiban, and gurdev.

Here is one i found or more like nicked from sewapanthi website:

Firstly meditating upon Aatam Dev

Nirmal Jot, of Sat Chit Anand Svaroop

Then I bow to the lotus feet of Ishtadev

SatGuru Maharaj, Dasaan Patshahian di Jot

Finally I offer salutations to my Gurdev/Murshid

, under whose guidance.

All efforts blossom forth

Sat Sri Akaal !

I will look for punjabi version for above, also will be searching more mangal charan used in nanak parkash, parcheen parkash, soraj parkash and other historical granths and post it up on here in next few days.

I request sangat to contribute in this thread if they have access to puratan ithasik mangal charns and post it on here.

Traditional Mangalcharan:

I bow to the lotus feet of Sri Guru Nanak.

I meditate on Guru Angad who eradicates blemishes.

I enshrine Guru Amar Das within my heart.

I sing the praises of Sri Guru Ram Das.

Sri Guru Arjun destroys all my obstacles.

Guru Hargobind enlightens my mind.

Salutations to Sri Guru Har Rai with folded hands.

And again the same to Guru Harkrishan.

Guru Tegh Bahadur is most gracious.

Sri Guru Gobind Singh is blissful.

I bow my head again and again.

I salute the master of the universe over and over.

Within knowledge lays ambrosial nectar.

Loving devotion is the true jewel.

Sri Guru Granth Sahib is unfathomable

Upon whom I meditate with great love.

My intellect is trivial.

How can it narrate your greatness?

I am not able to describe your glories.

You (God) must yourself take this discourse and purify it.

This is one of my favorites.

I bow with heart and mind to the Holy Sword.

Assist me that I may complete this Granth

The Sword cuts sharply and destroys the host of the wicked

and has the power to make the battlefield glorious.

It is an unbreakable shaft in the hand,

It is sharp and its flash pales the radiance of the sun.

The sword brings peace to the saints,

Fear to the evil minded and destruction to sin,

So it is my refuge.

Hail ! Hail to the Creator of the world.

The Saviour of creation, my Preserver in every way.

Hail ! O sword.

Everlasting Light, Uncreated Form,

God of great Gods, King of great Kings.

Without body, everlasting,

Without form or disposition,

All Powerful - Hail, wearer of the Sword.

Oh i just wanted to mention, the person who posted those mangalcharans on that website is not a very big fan of sri dasam granth sahib ji, he have the title as : The Dasam Granth, is a creation of dexterous Brahmins, solely concocted to bring Sikhism under the garb of Hinduism. :o
