The Future Of Sikh And Panjabi Literature?

Would like to try and get some discussion going on about the future of Sikh and Panjabi literature (I know the two can be distinct before anyone points that out!)

Lately I've been thinking that large chunks of our literature is pretty much inaccessible to Panjabis/Sikhs because of linguistic issues; I mean even some modern day indigenous Panjabis may struggle with reading stuff from say Bhai Vir Singh due to lack of sufficient education. Asides from that, the style of existing material isn't one that many people find particularly attractive. Innovations seem few and far between.

Any thoughts on the subject? Please share?

Thought out loud: Will we see a general and gradual decrease in the importance of literature as a consequence of the proliferation of internet and video technology in future?
