The Pakistan military has taken punitive action against Taliban militants by launching massive air strikes against its border region strongholds in retaliation for the Peshawar school massacre that left 132 children and nine staff dead in one of the worst terrorist incidents in the country’s history.

In an attack that provoked horror and fierce international condemnation, seven members of Tehrik-e-Taliban, the Pakistan Taliban, dressed in army uniform and wearing suicide vests, stormed the Army Public School mid-morning on Tuesday and began their shooting spree.

Firefights with Pakistan commandos continued for about eight hours before the school was cleared. Pakistani security forces said some of the attackers had been killed by commandos and others had blown themselves up.

Tehrik-e-Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it was in revenge for a ferocious army offensive – named Zarb-e-Azb – that has been underway in tribal areas since the summer and has left an estimated 1,000 militants dead and tens of thousands of people

We selected the army’s school for the attack because the government is targeting our families and females,” said Taliban spokesman Mohammed Umar Khurasani. “We want them to feel the pain.”

The Taliban claimed it had spared the youngest pupils but survivors said the shooting had been indiscriminate.

The danger over the coming weeks and months is of spiralling violence in an already volatile region as the Pakistan military, which has a well-founded reputation for ruthlessness, seeks revenge for the dead children of military personnel.

The first indication that the response will be harsh came when Pakistan’s chief of staff, General Raheel Sharif, in a tweet, said “massive air strikes” had been carried out against targets in the Khyber region, a tribal agency adjacent to Peshawar.

The blame game has begun. Musharraf has publicly declared the attack was done by India. Incidentally, the attack came on December

16, which was the anniversary of the fall of Dhaka and the surrender of Pakistan in 71.

If the attack was ordered by Pt. Ajit Doval then it would fit into his public statements of forcing the pakistani state to fight terrorists on their

soil. Now, the state and military has to fight or perish. Or is it retaliation for 26/11 which was ordered and coordinated by members of the

pakistani military?

I think this is too drastic even from their point of view. Children are often the last target for any terrorist. Or not?

Are they trying to fight against western education in schools?

And if that is that case, then what other steps were they taking prior to this incident?

The TTP blame the Pakistani Army of attacking their homes and purposely killing their children. That allegation would not surprise me but it's weak because the TTP has been bombing schools for years themselves.

Now, every general, officer and commentator is blaming India because certain sections of the TTP are directly controlled by India through proxies and "embassies" in Afghanistan.

Check out the date though. December 16 which is the anniversary of the creation of Bangladesh. Somebody is sending a message.

Do I think it's the work of Doval? Yes, he has loads of contacts in Pakistan because he spent 10 years in that country as a imam. Played a major role in lighting Karachi on fire and it fits his often repeated stance of forcing the Pakistani state to fight terrorism. Now, they have no choice.

He was infuriated that 26/11 mastermind hafeez was released from house arrest last week paraded around while the Pakistani state ferried his supporters to his rallies. Considered it an insult to the victims of 26/11.

It is a fight between one group of extremist Muslims (Pakistan Taliban) and another set of extremist Muslims (Pakistan army and establishment). Look at what Muslims have been doing to one another in Syria and Iraq. They don't need a wily bahman to make them kill each other. Next you will claim Doval was undercover as the sheep that Al Bagdadi used to bed down with each night and he instigated the massacres in the middle east through his pillow baahh ! It wasn't Doval, it was Zia's cowardice that he didn't invade India after Bluestar, there is no doubt the Sikhs would have helped the Pakis to destroy the Hindu army.

Doval was the one who negotiated the Indian surrender to terrorists by exchanging three of them for the Indian passengers of the Kandahar hijacking. One of these was the mastermind of the attack on Indian parliament and the Mumbai attacks. Seems less of an iron man and more of a surrender monkey.

But respect to Doval for putting his life on the line. His work in causing the sunni-shia conflict in Pakistan forced the pakistanis to withdraw all support to khalistanis and hand over lots of names and locations.

Check out this story from Doval himself while in Pakistan. He is walking by a mosque and pulled over and asked if he was Hindu, he denied it but the person looked at the holes in his ears and made a guess. Almost got found out. Great spy story...

New Delhi: Ajit Doval, the National security adviser (NSA) went to Iraq on a secret mission to steer India’s diplomatic outreach to bring home 46 nurses as well as help thousands of other Indians leave the violence-torn country.

Their missions, which were kept secret at the time, were powered by phone calls from External Affairs Sushma Swaraj to her counterparts in the region.

At the end of June, the situation for both the 46 nurses in Tikrit as well as 39 men in Mosul seemed bleak, with no real intelligence on rebel groups that were in charge of them and why they were being forcibly held.

Faced with a grim situation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked Doval to convene a high-level meeting to discuss the latest intelligence on the fighting in Tikrit and Mosul, as well as the possibilities for a mass evacuation of “all Indians in Iraq, if necessary.”

A day after the meeting, on June 25, Doval went on a top secret mission to Iraq to understand the position on the ground and make high-level contacts in the Iraqi government.

Yes, but nothing shocks me with sullahs. It's nothing new if you read history. Kattarta of any type ( non violence or violence) allows your enemy plenty of opportunity. The best is the middle path. Gandhi went off the non-violent end and Muslims off the violent end. The end result is destruction for both.

The aim of these attacks is simple. To FORCE the Pakistani state and people to fight terrorists. Hundreds are already dead in retialation.

For those that said Pakistan would be importing jihadis into India after the Americans leave I said Pakistan will quite busy itself just months ago.

And we also know what happens to anyone who attacks Harmandir Sahib. Too bad her advisors didn't tell her otherwise she wouldn't have died a dog's death at the hands of those she believed were there to protect her. No greater shame than to have walked like a fool into the path of her own executioners. So much for being a cunning bahmani!

And you believe everything a Hindu bahman says about his great feats? India is a byword for gappan. Doval was involved in operation Black Thunder not in Operation Blue Star . If India is involved in the massacre of Pakistani Childreen then expect this in India too . I pray that it should not happened but they will retaliate.

Doval was the bahman who negotiated the release of the three terrorists in order to save the lives of Indian passengers in Kandahar in 1999, One of those terrorists then planned the Mumbai massacre. So to save the passengers, Doval negotiated the release of three terrorists and one of them planned the Mumbai attacks which killed hundreds of people. Again such bahman cunning!

I doubt there was Indian involvement, the Taliban do not need bahmans to encourage them to kill innocent people. But people like Fudhustani want to claim this as an Indian operation so they can claim to some kind success against Pakistan. This is exactly what the Pakistanis want so they do not have to face the reality that there is no a civil war going on in Pakistan. So it would not be beyond the capacity of the Pakistan intelligence agencies which have links with the Taliban to now arrange another Mumbai style attack in India. Another piece of bahman cunning, give the pakistanis a way out of their civil war!

Attacks from Pakistan will come whether we fight or not it's already part of the threat analysis.

But our enemies ( khalistanis and Pakistanis) can guess all night long as to who did what. We enjoy when you point fingers at each other, call each other agents, traitors. No trust means no unity.

As for Doval I don't think he would call TTP directly it would be done through "friends" in this case friendly afghans. The Indian embassy in Afghanistan is the meeting place hence the bombing of it on Modis inugaration day.

Doval also took some commandos with him intending to storm the hijacked Indian plane in Kandahar when he flew in to negotiate with the hijackers but the Taliban surrounded his plane and the commandos were kept surrounded the whole time they were there.Obviously Doval the stupid bahman mistook his country for Israel.

The Hijackers killed a Hindu guy Rupen Katyal and all the Indian could do was bring his body home. Had it be the Israelis they would have hunted the hijackers down but they remain free in Pakistan as do the three terrorists that they exchanged for the passengers. After 8 days of captivity with the toilets backed up and over flowing apparently the Indian Airlines plane smelt no different than when the passengers first boarded the plane!

In 1999 there was another bahman NSA advisor called Brajesh Misra who was projected as some kind of hardnut but he proved to a coward and such will be case with Doval when push comes to shove in the next few years.

Goofy, Doval or anybody else can't prevent every terrorist act sometimes it's mitigating the losses. Rest assured Doval did the best he could under the circumstances.
