Guest Posted May 4, 2015 Report Share Posted May 4, 2015 Satguru nanak dev ji declared kirtan is serasht bhakti when question was asked by sikh which ghar one should be in, in this thread: This great vaak of maharaj has to be expereinced, our surat (consciousness/intellect) easily latches on the divine kirtan or divine raagas which comes from shabad dhun-sutble air element, providing great profound transcendence experience. On this topic of kirtan, osho rajneesh gave great example of satguru nanak dev ji and bhai mardana he said, when satguru nanak dev ji used to do kirtan with bhai mardana ji - Mira bhai who was sargun upasakh of sargun vahiguru-krishan ji, mira bhai would stop dancing go in samadhi and bhram leen in nirgun paratma and Mahatama buddha who was nirgun upasakh of nirgun gyan saroop vahiguru would get up from non transcendental meditation, his surat start unfolding into sargun and start dancing with sargun- divine paratma in vismaad. We are so lucky that we have great raagas musical instrumental measures in gurbani providing best of all worlds (sargun and nirgun transcendence) all in one in our sikh dharam.
