Guest Posted May 18, 2015 Report Share Posted May 18, 2015 As others have mentioned, sehaj avastha is encouraged where sri guru granth sahib is parkashed even mastene (udasi) know this they act in sehaj when it comes to maharaj darbar. This video is beadhi as its in sri guru granth sahib hazoori. However, dancing is quite alright if it comes spontaneously out of sheer love for divine, there are videos of 3ho dancing out of intoxication or love its careful slippery slope any ritual can fall right into dogma/pakhand if its done to show off- fakeness/ following trend with no feeling In dancing, mind, feeling, being are ONE (you move as one UNIT to the point you cannot stop even if you want to do, it will stop in stages) same as true martial art. They asked master, if they could do raas (dance) and show people. Maharaaj did not give them permission.The following updesh (teaching) was given to them. ਨਿਰਤਿ ਕਰੀ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਨਚਾਈ ॥Do Dance, make this mind dance ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਈ ॥By Guru's Grace, I eliminate my self-conceit. ਚਿਤੁ ਥਿਰੁ ਰਾਖੈ ਸੋ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਜੋ ਇਛੀ ਸੋਈ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਈ ॥੧॥One who keeps his consciousness focused on the Lord is liberated; he obtains the fruits of his desires. ||1|| ਨਾਚੁ ਰੇ ਮਨ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਆਗੈ ॥So dance, O mind, before your Guru. ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਨਾਚਹਿ ਤਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਅੰਤੇ ਜਮ ਭਉ ਭਾਗੈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥If you dance according to the Guru's Will, you shall obtain peace, and in the end, the fear of death shall leave you. ||Pause|| ਆਪਿ ਨਚਾਏ ਸੋ ਭਗਤੁ ਕਹੀਐ ਆਪਣਾ ਪਿਆਰੁ ਆਪਿ ਲਾਏ ॥One whom the Lord Himself causes to dance, is called a devotee. He Himself links us to His Love. ਆਪੇ ਗਾਵੈ ਆਪਿ ਸੁਣਾਵੈ ਇਸੁ ਮਨ ਅੰਧੇ ਕਉ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪਾਏ ॥੨॥He Himself sings, He Himself listens, and He puts this blind mind on the right path. ||2|| ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਚੈ ਸਕਤਿ ਨਿਵਾਰੈ ਸਿਵ ਘਰਿ ਨੀਦ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥One who dances night and day, and banishes Shakti's Maya, enters the House of the Lord Shiva, where there is no sleep. ਸਕਤੀ ਘਰਿ ਜਗਤੁ ਸੂਤਾ ਨਾਚੈ ਟਾਪੈ ਅਵਰੋ ਗਾਵੈ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥੩॥The world is asleep in Maya, the house of Shakti; it dances, jumps and sings in duality. One of its meanings, is veechar/discussion. Therefore, one of the ways to dance in Gurmat is to do Gurbani veechar, listen to Katha, etc If still, one cannot control his desire to dance, then one should engage in shaster vidya. The "payntaray" which are part of Shaster vidya, can be classified as a dance too. Therefore, one can dance in this way, and get Satguru's blessings. In this way work and sword are very dance like in many qualities. One is however riding the Naad, tracing the brachrischromatic curves, in a lethaly, and perfectly optimized way, to the rythym of divine and universal vibrations.
