Guru Nanak came as Vishnu, Krishna and Ram ?

Recommended Posts

Make sense if we look satguru nanak dev ji  from nanak nirgun absolute truth perspective coming into sargun form. Satguru Nanak  dev ji maharaj is pure gyan saroop all prevadaing pure consciousness just like how krishan is consider all prevading consciouness gyan saroop in bhagvad gita.

I am so sure in a granth I faintly remember Nanak parkash? There is a chapter on guru Nanak sarguns form, and if I remember correctly exactly like Vishnu. Please don't take my word for it as it was 5 years since I remember reading that.

Anyone also read or heard this?

Amardeep

Vishnu/Hari is the name of the Absolute Consciousness, whereas Shri Ram and Krishan ji and Guru Nanak Dev ji are his avtars. So the correct question would be -

Did Shri Vishnu come as Ram Chandra ji, Krishan jiand Guru Nanak Dev ji?

Indeed. Bhai Gurdas ji is not the only one that says this. In Guru Granth Sahib it says -

In Satyug, You (Vishnu) enjoyed deceiving and liberating King Bali in the Vaman avtar.

In Treta, You loved being called King Ram, of the Raghu Dynasty.

In Dwapar, You, Krishan Murara, killed Kans and saved everyone.

You granted Kingship to Ugrasain and elevated your devotees.

In Kaliyug, You came as Guru Nanak Dev, Guru Angad Dev and Guru Amar Das.

The rule of Guru Sahibs is unchanging, unmovable, by His very command.

Satguru Nanak  dev ji maharaj is pure gyan saroop all prevadaing pure consciousness just like how krishan is consider all prevading consciouness gyan saroop in bhagvad gita.

In Guru Granth Sahib as well.
Guru Nanak Dev ji says -
The light of all divine beings is Krishna, and atma is His form.

Atma is the form of Shri Vasudev, if anyone recognizes this secret (that there is no distinction between Atma and Krishna)

Nanak says I am the servant of that very Niranjan Dev.

Bhagat Namdev ji ties them all together in one shabad-

ੴ By The Grace Of The True Guru:

Vasudev,

Vasudev is Krishan ji's dad. However, Krishan ji is also known as Vasudev because He is everywhere.

Narsingha

That's true Narsingh ji and Prehlad ji came before birth of Shri Ram in Tretayug.

Bal Baavan

You are reading that incorrectly, read it again.

In Satyug, You (Vishnu) enjoyed deceiving and liberating King Bali in the Vaman avtar.

The sihari matters ਬਲਿ, Bal Bali was a king. He was the grandson of Prehlad ji. He was shown omnipresence of Shri Hari through Vaman avtar. Vaman ji was a Brahmin, a very small man, who grew so large that his 2 steps covered the entire existence (outside, the whole universe). On the third step, Bali said, "Place it on my head (enter my mind, be inside)"  And then Vaman did just that, and Bali was liberated.
Guru Ram Das ji says
Hari, you are inside, inside the body and the mind, and you are outside, outside everywhere in the whole universe. You know everyone's state, You experience it all.

King Bali realized this through Vaman ji. Both came before Tretayug.

Narsingh -> Vaman -> Ram -> Krishan

I'm wondering if these translations are correct. For example for the below verse in Punjabi it does not mention Guru Nanak Dev Ji's name however the english translation does

Gāvai guṇ mahāḏe▫o bairāgī jin ḏẖi▫ān niranṯar jāṇi▫o.

Shiva, detached and beyond desire, sings the Glorious Praises of Guru Nanak, who knows the Lord's endless meditation.

O my Father Vishnu , Husband of my Mother (Maya), blessed are You, You long-haired, dark-skinned, Veethala (another avtaar of Parmatma). ||1||Pause||

You hold the steel chakra in Your hand; You came down from Baikunth (where only Shri Hari Vishnu resides), and saved the life of the elephant (who was attacked, and was trapped in the tight jaws of a crocodile when he went to take a drink in a pool).

In the court of Duhshasan, You (Krishan ji) saved the honor of Dropadi, when her clothes were being removed. ||1||

You (Ram Chandra) saved Ahalya (who was turned to stone), the wife of Gautam; how many have You purified and carried across?

Such a lowly outcaste as Naam Dev has come seeking Your Sanctuary. ||2||2||
