they ruled india (including panjab) with violence and genocide, totally murdered the Satnamis etc.  but no they did not *enslave* the jatts, or the khatris or the chumars or anyone else for that matter.  do you know the meaning of the word enslavement?

the fact that they had to use such violence etc shows how insecure they were about keeping control

Don't play with semantics. Maybe we were not treated as badly, as Africans were in the States, but still we were under foreign rule for hundreds of years.

most of those refs have nothing to do with jatts.   all we get is this:

According to Koer Singh, Guru Gobind Singh said: “Vaisayas, Sudras and Jats I have incorporated in the Panth.”35 Of the twentyfive Muktas mentioned by Koer Singh, three were Bhatias, five Khatris, four Aroras, three Lubanas, and two water-carriers.36 The castes of the rest are not given. The forty men at Chamkaur included five Bhatias, four Aroras, some Khatris and Kalals (distillers), two Rangretas (sweeper caste), two Brahmins, Sangat Singh of the Trans-Indus areas, sons of the Guru and the Guru Himself.37 Those who took part in Banda’s campaign, at least in its initial stage, were recruited chiefly from the lower caste Hindus.38

firstly, werent the  muktas the people who abadoned Guruji then went back?  so i hardly doubt jats would want to be included in that list.  even then, the numbers he has given dont add up to 40.  so it is selective, just to prove his (authors) point.

He says that the castes of rest are not given.

When he needed help, the Jatts came enmasse.  What does that tell you?

Sri Satguru jee never needed any one's help. He was helping the masses and turning them into warriors and Saints.

Sri Satguru jee did plenty to assist the Jatts (build wells, monetary help, etc) and they must always stay indebted to the lord for his grace.

The article is trying to prove that there were plenty of Sikhs (of non-Jatt ancestry) in the wars fought by Satgurus.

There were two types of Shudars according to the caste system:

Touchable Shudars - which included Jatts, Tarkhans, Jheevars, etc

Untouchable Shudars - Chure, Chamar, etc

The untouchable Shudars were the ones who suffered the most by this caste system. Jatts, being touchable Shudars and in control of food production (especially in the villages) did not suffer much, as some of the other races/castes did. Even Brahmins/Khatris/Vaishs need food to survive. Therefore, it would not make much sense for them to harshly discriminate against the Jatts and other agriculturist castes (Kamboj, etc), especially during the Mughal/Muslim rule.

Most likely, many Rajputs consider Jatts to be Shudar too.

actually i know some (or many?) sikh rajputs are ok with marrying sikh jatts, as in through arranged marriage and not talking about any of this dating business.

My Mamma was offered a rishta from Rajput family decades ago in uk.

It seems more likely for Rajput sikhs to see it ok to marry jatts than jatts see it to marry Rajputs.

Daas also knows a Tarkhan guy, who was offered a rishta from a Jatt family. These cases happen.

Maybe it is true. Within our community, Jatts are probably the most strict when it comes to marrying within the same caste/racial group. IMHO, one big factor which assists them in being strict, is their large numbers. More than 60% of the Sikhs are from Jatt background. It is relatively much easier for them to find suitable rishtay within their own caste/racial group, as compared to other microscopic Sikh sub-communities like Jheevar, Brahmin, etc.

Shudras  or lowly people, are only those who do not harbor the Name (NAM) of the Lord within their minds and hearts.

Cursed is their birth and coming into this world, for not profitting themselves with the support of His Nao, they are strongly entangled in the wordly bondages, thus they miss their goal of Waheguru.

Then, at departure from this plane, Yam doots will mercilessly beat them, for although being blessed as human beings, but never ever did they even meditate on their Creator, rather wasted away their lives collecting straw in the form of ritualism and falsehood, for without gathering the true wealth of His Name, all else is false, thus not accepted in His Darbar.

SSA.
