kdsingh80 Posted February 22, 2016 Report Share Posted February 22, 2016 SC are Dalits , While OBC's are caste which are considered as backwards .Ambedkar in Indian constitution provided 15% reservation to SCs and 7.5% to Sts (tribals) as he believed that these people are socially backward means the dominant castes do not allow them to study or come forward. .Later on GOI decide that some castes which are not dalits but still oppressed like ( Nai kumahars etc) should also be given reservation so they created a commission to find these type of castes in India. In that process many castes which are poor but not socially oppressed also got their name in that list. That report was called Mandal commission which was implemented in 1990 and there were widespread riots by general class category because they thought that their opportunities were snachted by others.27% reservations were given to OBC's then. In last 10-20 years the situation has now become where plenty of communities want their names just because they have the numbers.Maratha's jaats patels . these are the communnities which are now included in the category of OBC even though these communntites were/ are not socially oppressed . The present situation is that Jaats in haryana want their name to be included in OBC list as Jaats are considered backward in Rajasthan and Uttar pradesh . Haryana too wanted to include them but supreme court stuck down that they are not socially oppressed caste . so now they are demanding voilently to include their name in OBC list Punjab also on the other hand included Jatt sikhs in backward category, so for the time being Hindu jaats and jatt sikhs are bhai bhai on this 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Paaji, why are Jats considered backward in two states and not in others? Also, Jatts belong to Shudar varna, so therefore, shouldn't they be in OBC, by default (along with Nais, Kumahars, etc)? In India state govts can decide which community should be included or which community should be excluded from reservation benefit Varna is not important here because the basis of giving reservation was the communities which were/are socially powerful should be excluded from the benefit of reservation. No need to blame Congress on every issue,the fact is plenty of communnities like Patels, Jaats Gujjars and maratha's are demanding reservation on the basis of their numbers.No doubt congress may be milking this. also Khattar is totally incompetent CM , he has the knowledge but still he failed to stop this. Thanks Bhul chuk maaf kharbujeh ko dekh ke kharboojah rang badalta hai, there are few communnitties which are not socially oppressed but entered reservation stream , that's why many caste's demanding reservation.
