What did Sakhi tell the Shah ? Why did Shah not enquire about the king when he came in ? Maybe Sakhi just told Shah to reach home. What was the need to throw Mewe in the Chatai ? What purpose would that serve ? Was King hiding in there for a long time & got hungry? dont think so. Firstly Jag Jot Mati has illicit relations with the King on her mind, as the Queen did with her stepson. Secondly Chitarkala on being refused by the King, has revenge on her mind as the Queen did with her stepson. The wrapping up of a King in a rug and being stood against the wall of the house could represent the inability of the King to manouvere/him being restricted in every way. The rug may actually be his Queen. Is the rug a strait-jacket? The throwing of the food into the sack IMO represents an easy task for the husband to perform so Jag Mati can then lavish praise on him for being so skillful. Here she is massaging his ego from his accomplishment of an easy task. Then she calls him a King which he doesn't understand but again flatters him by saying that she is under his full control at all times. Again here she is using flattery to which the husband is responsive. Such people will keep a grudge in their minds regarding that offer (as we see in this Charitar). Therefore, one has to be careful with such people. For example, if you are a politician/minster/manager, etc, people will definitely ask you for favors. It is important that you keep a note of any absurd/out of ordinary requests that you may receive (and refuse) and be careful with such people. Usually, food is thrown towards animals, birds, etc, and given/handed over to humans. King has been reduced to a position (because of his own deeds) of an animal. The rug may actually be his Queen. That's an excellent point. Another alternate interpretation Chitar Singh has wrapped Chitarmati in a rug, due to the coerced marriage. Throwing of the nuts could indicate feeding. Therefore, the wise minister might be trying to tell Chitar Singh that even though you are feeding Chitarmati, she might be feeling as if she is a prisoner in your kingdom, being fed like an animal in captivity.
