@BhagatSingh - What do you think bro?

It looks like the Nanaksar turban. But it could be a topi in shape of a nanaksar turban lol.

There is seli on top of the turban/cap that's good. It should be around the neck or across the chest (like gatra) as well.

Yea he is often depicted with one as well. A lot of the Gurus did wear it. Bhagat Kabir ji and many other Bhagats were Gurus with their own followings.

When a successor Guru was appointed, they would put the topi on his head, put seli around the neck and on topi, and put tilak on forehead and do the arti plate ceremony.

There's even a shabad in Guru Granth Sahib describing this process, but I can't seem to remember it very well or find it.

Now here Guru Arjun Dev ji is wearing a turban. This is a late 1800s painting and the artists of this time never painted Gurus 2-5 with a cap, only Guru Nanak Dev ji.

That's wrong. Here are some contemporary pictures of the Anglo Sikh wars. As you can see the Sikhs are wearing red:

Paapiman mentioned that as well.

In terms of our evolution, the colour red is linked with ripe fruit.

Our colour vision evolved to distinguish between red and other colours so that we could pick out the ripe fruit among all the available fruits.

Veer Interesting theory thats one way to look at red colour compared to how most people do wham like red is frobidden as phari rajputs wore that colour due to the battle of Anandpur Sahib Guru Ji's time.

Regarding red portion in rehitnama..this need to be properly contextualized, its very basic beginning relative conduct at initial stage out there to help seeker meant to be used as aid - one can refrain from wearing red if color effects their state of mind if we were talk about gunas- red seem to fall in rajogun. Bhai dya singh ji in his rehtinama classify lifestyle of sikh in three different categories- gristhi(rajogun/satogun), behingum(satogun) and akaali nihang(rajogun/balance of satogun/tamas)-soorme to prevent sikhs falling from same pitfalls as many other dharamis sharia panthis have.

Our youths seem to be turning some basic contents rehitnamas (due to lack of contexualization, fail see things in stages, different aspects) into crazy anglican christian like ten commandments
