I don't often speak out about this but I generally do not agree with a lot of ideas like these. Maybe things are lost in translation. But sometimes it seems like these hukams only apply to Sikhs (for example - you cannot wear a certain colour or you must wear kakkars etc). So by default it would be saying that anyone who isn't a sikh would go into joon. Various hukams are there to aid in the path. They keep you away from doing things that will hurt your spirituality. But why would someone who hears shabad, drinks amrit etc (but does not follow certain hukams) go into joons?

I'm sorry to be that guy who everyone hates listening to. But honestly, I don't think blind faith and following are a reasonable way to do bhagti. It's more worthwhile to do the practical bhagti as per gurmat and experience what gurbani says you will experience.

Yes, still waiting

Daas does not have great translation skills, but Gurparsaad will try. Daas will post a summary of this story. You should get the gist of it.

There was a person, who used to stay with Sant Baba Nand Singh jee Kaleranwale. He did not follow orders properly and used to listen to his mind. Babajee used to preach him, but his attitude was like that. He became ill and then died.

He became a Fawn (baby deer) in his next life. Once, his flock got attacked by dogs and he got separated. He entered into the monastery of Babajee. He had been injured by the dogs. A veterinarian was called to take care of him and then he recovered. One night, dogs jumped over the wall and attacked him again. This time they killed him. Babajee called a cobbler and asked him to make a slipper from his skin. When the cobbler brought the slipper, Babajee commented that is beautiful, light and good. Then Babajee said that today he has attained Liberation. Sewadar asked who has attained liberation. His name was mentioned by Babajee (Bhara Singh jee Seega) The sewadar asked that how come he became a fawn, even though he used to do seva here? Babajee mentioned that he did not obey the orders properly, even though he had lived with him for many years. As a result of disobeying the Hukam, he had to suffer in this joon (as a Fawn).

Moral of the Story - Follow the hukams of Sri Satguru jee and Gurmukh Brahamgyanis. Abandon Manmat and adopt Gurmat.

FIrst, there are many nishanees that gurbani mentions of WHEN you are out of lakh chaurasi. That is just one stage, it means mukhti from joons. Then there is the complete mukhti, which is when you are merged in Nirankar as if "absolute" -> completely dissolved.

More so.  Lots of stories and tales from mahapurkhs have the core messages mistranslated and distorted over time. The listener receives the superficial understanding most of the time and has little idea if the gurmat message.   Classic examples like the Ajamal and narayan story give incorrect messages that Ajamal simply uttered "narayan" without any dhyian on akaal purakh and was given a second chance on his near death experience.

In this tale, there are two important things to focus on.

  • Firstly, the person is an arrogant individual who is not improving, despite the advises of a Saint. It is his "arrogant" attitude, which becomes a cause for his reincarnation as a Fawn. Arrogance is a manifestation of one's ego and all forms/manifestations of ego will eventually be punished by the divine law.
  • Secondly, Sant Baba Nand Singh jee was a Gurmukh Brahamgyani. As per Gurbani, we must follow the commandments of Saints as they try to assist us in our spiritual journey. If this individual could not follow Babajee's hukams, he should have left Baba jee, but he stayed and was disobedient.

Daas would like to take a positive from this tale. Despite of him reincarnating as a Fawn, he still attained liberation. The Sadh Sangat which he did, helped him cross the worldly ocean.
