This Gurbani mahavak pankiti - Sahib mera Nit Nava Sada Sada Dataar ||  has so much depth.

The way i understood this pankiti is that one universal pure aware being (ikOngkar) / absolute truth is EVER FRESH-ALIVE AND NEW moment to moment assert itself moment to moment to moment- ever fresh and new , expresses itself into infinite ways and in infinite ever fresh and new epiphanies.

Hence, why we cannot approach Vahiguru ji with conceptual knowledge, expereinces, out of memory, past or future but Now ETERNALLY PRESENT !!

Sada Sada Datar

Always always eternal giver.

Excellent post it has also reminded me of another pankti from Ramkali Ki Vaar Satta Balwand Di Vaar 

aTal athaahu atol too teraa ant na paaraavaariaa

 

Nobody can reach Waheguru as it has no limits and this pankti is amazing and sweet.

Excellent Topic.

ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਦਾਤਾਰੁ  can have many meanings.

From katha* and teeka sahib*, Waheguru is the giver of Brahamgayn in the four ages (yugs) and the giver of Mukti to the four khanis (Andaj, Jeraj, etc). The word Sada mean "Nit" roop, which means he has an indestructible form. Therefore, Waheguru is indestructible and he is always (another arth of sada) a giver.

In Mahan Kosh, arths of the word sada are blessing, cry/call, sound, etc.

So, one of the arths of the above phrase could be "Cry/call for blessings from the great giver, Waheguru jee".

The word Sada is used twice, so it alludes to two different ideas.

The following are possible:

  • Giver in this Lok and in the Parlok
  • Giver in the present and in the future
  • Giver on the land and in the sea
  • Giver through direct means and through indirect means
  • Giver to the body and to the soul
  • Sound (Naad) of the great giver is inside (within the body) and outside of you
  • Giver in the very young age (infant) and in the extreme old age (when it is possible to not take care of one's body)
