One example which Daas heard was that of a Jatt, who unsuccessfully tried to dig a well or something in his own field (which was against the hukam of Ninth Master). His failed attempt was still visible in the village during the time of Mahakavi jee (who was an eyewitness to it). I guess you can call him a historian too. Maybe he could not validate everything due to lack of time/resources, as there is a limit to what a person can do in one lifetime.
