The weak translation done by bindra misses out these important pieces: The ugly milkman had a beautiful wife That young woman was captivated on seeing a King (2) The woman was pained by the milkman (he used) Sharp words were said day and night She was not allowed to go to sell millk/butter (the actual word meaning is makhan) Her jewellery was taken and sold (3) Nothing about beating her in original text This young woman was known by the name of Soorchhat Under his protection she was greatly cared for (4) The translation gives his name as "chhater ket" but that just means "royal protection." When the milkman would lower his head in order to milk the cow The King would come to her and take her in his arms (6) (translation says he fumbles with her, what on earth is fumbling??) What you have written above is true but of half of the equation. It's "what you are missing that is happening right in front of you." The wife is embracing the object of her heart right next to her husband, but as he is engrossed in his job, he is unaware of what she is doing. The Minister is telling the King, that the milkman was looking at something that he never noticed what activities a person right next to them was doing. The Minister is pointing out that a man should always be aware of whats going around him. Now another point the Minister made here was that the cow moved and spilled some milk. The wife covered her tracks by saying that the calf was after some milk and this was why the cow was moving, and the milk was spilling. The husband just accepted her excuse without lifting his head up to see what was happening. Remember how this starts off as well. " The Minister narrated a tale that made the whole court go silent."
