The above is true, but she (wife) doesn't know that.

One of the interpretations is that the Pathan is not in love with his wife. Based on that. we can safely assume that the wife must be desperate to make an impression on her husband. Now, a slave comes to her with an idea to please her husband sexually. Obviously, there is greater chance that she will listen (and act) on his advice, than say if their relationship was already on a foot footing. She must have thought that the slave is actually trying to help her with her relationship. Some Chugalkhors might make you believe that they are on your side and speaking for your benefit, but they could be having an insidious agenda against you.
