Ani Rai - Jangnama (contemporary account of dasmesh pita's battle?)

Recommended Posts

I've heard of a piece called Jangnama by Ani Rai which is supposed to be an account of one of Guru ji's battles. I've never come across it, has anyone here ever read it?

I don't know. The style of this seems VERY different to other contemporary poetry???

Interesting. Good share Dal. Will try and get some time to compare this writing to Sri Gur Sobha. They would have been written quite close to each other.

Maybe we can have a quick try and translation of this seeing as it's not too long?

That would be 👍 great.

Thank you🙏💕for posting this.  It's an amazing piece of literature,  which we may have not access to otherwise.  I loved the way the sifat/ upma of Guru Sahib and his shastr s is done here.

No wonder Ani Rai ji was welcomed and regarded/ rewarded by Guru Sahibaans.
