Good stuff. I usually take this in smoothies but mostly in the summer.

Ashwaganda has many properties and it's effective at lowering cortisol levels. This is both with cortisol level high due to physical demand(working out) and non-physical psyche(stress).

Good sleeping you've noticed makes sense because if you had higher cortisol levels then sleep pattern would be disrupted.

I've not particularly noticed the 'more alert' with myself but that's probably because i have other things for brain and focus.  However,  since you have noticed it, then i would utilizee that property and take dose prior to workouts to help maintain focus-stamina and also post  workout or muscle pumps in order to help with muscle recovery.    Ashwaganda also helps boost testosterone levels so it will help reap positive results, especially for over 40's men.

with these super-foods, you have to be a little careful from overseas products.  Many indian imports have been found to contain levels of mercury, lead and arsenic.   I usually try and go for USDA, organic and Non-GMO certified labels wherever possible.

Guest Okay

I take Ashwangda as well and I notice a deep sensation of calm. Apparently it’s great for testosterone levels as well.

I REALLY noticed it when I first started taking it, but I think the effect gets less pronounced when you continually take it. Might need to cycle on and off? Take it every few days or something?

Try them as per instructions on the pack for a week, and see how you go. I do find they can give you 'cotton  mouth' sometimes. A dry mouth. So up your general  water intake too.

I think it's the lowering of cortisol that makes inflammation/pain go away?

Plus I notice that it can give you the 'munchies' as well. So if you're overweight you might want to be careful, but if you want to put weight on, it might help.

Just finished my first jar.

Will now cycle off for a month.

Personal review:

What it helped me with:

It definitely seems to work as a relaxant, and helps to get deep sleep, so I'd say it would be useful for anyone having insomnia issues. A teaspoon stirred in warmish milk before bed is great for this, otherwise take it with warmish water in the day.

It also seemed to help my body recover from training, with less soreness which can be explained by it's cortisol lowering effects. As people have noted, it does seem to dehydrate, so extra water is essential.

Would use it again (already bought another jar), but will cycle it as mentioned earlier.
