Amrit without Dasam Granth........

Recommended Posts

Gurfateh,

Without the three baania from Dasam Granth (one from TREH CHARITAR) how could there be an amrit sachaar?...........there couldnt be!!!

So do you think it would be better for all amrit sanchaars to take place in the presence of all 3 granths, or at least Guru Granth and Dasam Granth???

AKAAAAAAAAAAAAL

Lets see veer ji... I agree with you there dasam granth should be there in the time of amrit-sanchar... First of all there are lack of dasam granth copies out there... second of all it should be there not must since panth is struggling to get complete compiled copy of dasam granth sahib ji.

so you guys cant really hurt those people by calling the amrit they took "invalid".

In toronto there is only one copy of dasam bani...which damdami takshal mehta toronto has it..its an old bir... its really hard to get copies out there..

Amrit doesnt become invalid that easily especially when you got rang of pyar charya hoya with guroo sahiban that much that you come to his thorne with your head on the palm of your hand...... :D

But what about the original Amrit Sanchar, in Baisakhi of 1699?I assume only Aad Guru Granth was present?Dasam Granth was compiled a few years after Satguru Gobind singh's passing by Bhai Mani Singh, and the compiler of Sarbloh Granth isn't known, nor the date when it was compiled.

There was no Dasam Granth or Sarbloh Granth during Baisakhi 1699.

This is one of discrepancy I find with this argument of all three Bir being present. They weren't present during original amrit Sanchar.

However: I have 100% faith in Sri Dasam Patshah ki Bani, Dasam Granth and Sarbloh Granth.

Guru Panth as represented by Akali Nihang Budha Dal has instituted this tradition hence it should be kept!

I suppose your right in that respect.I know I said above that Dasam Granth and Sarbloh Granth were not present at original Amrit Sanchar, but I have heard that Akal Ustat and Chandi di Var was recited by Satguru Gobind Singh, along with other Bani.I bleieve that Akal Ustat and Chandi di Var are not recited at todays Amrit Sanchar.Am I wrong? My knowledge is hazy on this particular subject.

Gur Fateh!

I believe the references for such recitation can be found in Pracheen Panth Prakash (Rattan Singh Bhangoo). Interestingly though, there are parts of that tradition kept as the Ardas is taken from Chandi di Var and the Tav Prashad Chaupai ("Praanvo Aad Ek..)...that said, it doesn't constitute the entire compositions agreed...there is also reference to Guru Ji placing a Chakr upon the 5 Pyare's Dastara during the Sanchar and also to Chatka et al...

Guru Panth as represented by Akali Nihang Budha Dal has instituted this tradition hence it should be kept!

Lalleshvari, please do provide some back up references for these or point us in the right direction to locate them. But I must ask, do you feel it necessary for all three Granths to be in Parkash? I ask as whilst havinf faith in them, I do feel that the Sarabloh Granth in particular is of a very speacialist nature, which lends itself to those joining the Dal, however is this really needed for the Khalsa Singhs at large?

forgive any foolishness in the foregoing,

GUR BAR AAAAAKKKKKKKKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLL!

its not the dasam bani which is hard to get, its the acceptance of the maryada of dasam which stops so many jathas and cults from accepting dasam, be it sgpc, taksal, akj, etc etc..

The Aad granth was compiled by Bhai Gurdas Ji, but was the mool mantar not used before that date? or the japji? In the same way the three bania of dasam could have been used in the first amrit sanchaar, and then later compiled into the dasam granth.

p.s.. this new quick reply thing is damn funky.. !!!

one more thing was Akali Guru Adhi Granth present during the first amrit sanchar? If not then traigranths were manifested within Maharaj Akali Nihung Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Remember Maharaj had Akali Guru Adh Granth kanth since the original swaroops were under the malicious hands of the rebels, and maharaj had to rewrite Akali Guru Adh Granth from kanth!

well Akali means timeless, and because Shri Adh Granth is literally a manifestation of Akaal Purukh it is timeless because no matter how long time may take its toll, bani of the true lord is unchanging, just like our Gurus, therefore we address all our Gurus Akali. As for the Nihung part maharaj dasme patsha was a warrior and therefore a Nihung as he innitiated Nihung Panth hims self and was farladhari a trait of Nihung Singhs

I am very familiar with supposd rationale and explanation, however would be grateful if you could kindly answer the initial question which requests support for these notions - which of course is different to the explanation as to why modern era Nihangs choose to use these terms.

I think Nihangs are embarrassed of the mainstream, so to disdtance themselves they use such terms, or perhaps they used these terms originally? Need more knwoledge/gyaan...
