Ali as went to uthman and offererd him the book during Uthmans time of khilafah, but only uthman rejected the book. the common muslim did'n.

so why did he take the Book home and kept it under his bed? if the book was given to the muslims then there probably would not be so much division between the hundreds of sects in Islam, as the true tafseer would be knowable..

1.The hadith don't mention that the muslims accepted it.

2. Even if it was revealed to the Muslims they wouldn't understand it as it requires a full understanding of the esoteric notion of imamat. Even most Shi'as today think of Imamat as being a purelu political or explanatory function.

Imam Ali (as) once said: "If I were to reveal to you the true meaning of Fatiha and my real nature, indeed you would stone me to death."

Imam Ali (as) once said: "If I were to reveal to you the true meaning of Fatiha and my real nature, indeed you would stone me to death."

is he talking about himself being mentioned in the "mother of books"?

i read something about it once, saying he is raised in the Al Fatiha.

and yes you are right that the hadith does not mention the muslims denying the Quran, but still he did not go to them with the book. even if it contained the imamat of the 11 succeders after him, no one has still been able to see the book.

it makes no sence to me, hiding a book which the entire muslim world is hungering for.

You forget that most Muslims chose to follow Abu Bakr. Did they really deserve it? Do you really think it would make a difference? Sunnis in their own hadith books have clear mentions of the names of the Imams yet they reject them. The fact remains that to be able to understand this knowledge you need full knowledge of imamat which of of spiritual and divine nature, not just a question of succession.
