Sava Lakh Jaap of Mool Mantar Sahib

The ghee jot is always lit at akhand paats aswell and thats why many ladies bring their own ghee to the gurdwara to put in the jot dish as this is never allowed to be extinguished.

I was told that good spirits are attracted to the smell of the ghee and especially shaheed singhs! Anyone ever heard this?

Reasons for the use of ghee are numerous:

1 - Hindus traditionally use ghee during the aarti and murti pooja;

2 - During pooja to Mahadev - ghee is sacrificed in panchamrut ritual;

3 - Ghee is traditionally used inside temples to provide light when reading paath;

4 - Ghee is used at Indian religious readings (inc Akhand/Sehej/Sadaaran Paaths) because long readings use up the readers saliva and leave the mouth and throat dry, burning ghee is the traditional way of creating moisture in the surrounding atmosphere, allowing readers to complete their paath in comfort.

cool, i never knew about the saliva thing

but how do the first two relate to sikhi?

penji t kaur, shaheed singhs are one with vaheguroo, they are not attracted to simple treguni things. The BANI and LOVE for Maharaj would be detected by the Singhs and call them to the sangat.

That's partly right. It's not the smell that attracts them though - it's to do with their 'kharaak' during the period of the Paath, amongst other reasons.

I've spoken with Gyani Takhur Singh ji about this.

Here's the maryada:

Make bhog and do ardass at the start.

While doing the jaap sit on a white sheet wearing white clothes. Have water in a container near you and have a quoi (ghee) jot lit. After doing your jaap for the day splash chitey from the water around your paath room (it's good somehow, not sure if it's a necessary part of maryada) and then drink the water.

At the end make bhog and do ardass.

Here's the numbers for each day:

Gurmantr jap 108 mala

Mool mantr 32 mala

Chachree chand, Tav Prasaad mantr 32 mala

Sukhmani Sahib 5 paaths

Japji Sahib 25 paaths.

This takes 40 days to complete. All of the above are equivalent.

Ssa Ji . Did giyani Ji mentioned that do we have to do all them together or one at a time ?

Just one question. If we have begun the sava lakh Jaap, then do we need to also observe restrictions on diet?

Like abstinence from non-veg food,eggs etc.?

absolutely must follow the dietary restrictions according to Giani ji.

Don't have to do all Jaaps combined. Generally not meant to be done combined, but certainly see no harm in your doing that.

Every ones views are very nice on this topic.. I m inspired very much but in our sikh smaaj some of the kathavachaks such as bhai panthpreet singh ,sarabjit singh dhunda are doing very wrong parchaar . To ligten jot and these other marayadas they say that these are all pakhand.. Imfact he says that the asthaan of baba nand singh ji nanaksar sahib is pakhand da ghar and nand singh ji was pakhandi baba .the painting of guru nanak sahib commisioned by him is not real. These all babas in deras are not saints they are fraud.. There are many other kathavachaks like him.. So it is request to all my brothers to be aware from such kathavachaks . They are not doing good parchar. They are just decreasing the sharda level in gursikhs.somewhat i aggre that all babas are not saints but sampardas such as nanaksar sahib and rarasahib are great with greats saints.     Bhul chuk galti maaf krnni.

Not sure if this is relevant to the discussion but while we are doing jaap of mool mantar do consider abiding in the gyan of mool mantar in pure non duality(abhed upasana there is no two- no abhyasi or seeker just gyan of mool mantra) without any distinction this can further ensue samadhi where one gets so oblivious absorbed in mool mantar that one looses the count or even aware of surrounding.

I honestly believe whole point of count of jaap is get to the stage where there is no counting- ajapa jaap or one can directly go right to the source para bani source of word- pure consciousness and prior to para- unmanifested/unborn awareness (Awareness of awareness without any words/object) from where all four bani para-source of word,  pashyanti (the emanation of words), then madhyama (formulation of thoughts-words), and vaikhari -audible language explodes or comes out.

This is good map to put everything in context:

We Shoud do mool mantar slowly, one shabad ik onkaar speak and then realize it what its say god is everywhere and He Himself only one not second ,, then say satnaam it means always remains when all the universe destroyed it would remains and when its nothing He remains and when new creation begin its always remain.    so I mean we eat food very slowly its works better So when we Kirtan mool Mantar then its feel tasty and joy. please kirtan mool mantar 5 hours then see result,  please do   keertan of moolmantar then see result

Please do not comment anything about the RAHAT & MARYADA on here. If your willing to do SAVA LAKH JAAP then please continue and try to post how many times you have been done for the day to encourage more people who read this posts. But, we are not here to know why we have to do this and which MARYADA offers us to do. Guru Saheb Dey Hukum Anusaar Jaap Jaari Rakhna Saadh Sangat Ji. Bhul Chuk Di Shama. Wahegurur Ji Ka Khalsa - Waheguru ?Ji Ki Fateh !!

1) Lighting ghee in a brass holder, with a pure cotton wick is best. It releases energy into the atmosphere that is conducive to focus. Ideal placement of the lamp is within 18 inches of the nose (which isn't always practical).

2) One should not be concerned about who or what comes. It is very easy to get caught up in divine energies - even shaheeds. Some saints get caught in discourse with these souls, and it prevents them from progress. Keep focus on the goal.

Bro, do you knowledge regarding the jot of Mustard oil? Does it attract negative entities?

Bhul chuk maaf
