  1. If I agree with what someone has said I will like. Please don't lecture me on what I should and shouldn't like. I'm not aware of liking any post with nindaya and recall only liking one post today by Sukh_preet where I agree with her view about sharing. This whole topic is about sharing. I find it annoying when people come on here and say don't share and try and discourage others from talking further. As if they are the naam simran police. It's so demotivating and infusing paranoia into people's head to think negative and watering the seeds of doubt (bahm). No one is forcing anyone to share wha

If you guys want to discuss something, send each other a personal message. That’s what a lot of us do. We talk directly with each other in private conversations. I would recommend doing the same, especially if it’s a personal issue. People who don’t believe in sharing their spiritual experiences, also usually believe in not reading about them either. People who don’t share, typically feel s

  4. This thread is more than just experiences. It is a more like a dairy that documents our journey to understand simran, the inner journey and what we are learning and experiencing along they way by a number of individuals. The posts contain subtle hints that may help someone in the future. We might not have all the answers today but as I see in my own journey things I read 10+ years ago are presenting themselves again via different channels. There is some hidden truth out there which I don’t fully understand yet but I hope I am making slow progress in the right direction.

I thought I'd post an update now that a few major breakthroughs have occurred. I know some of the terminologies and content may not be easily understood by a lot of people, but I don't want to expand too much on the individual experiences. The point of this post is about getting over plateaus and keeping yourself open minded during your journey. 1. I spent a few years listening to shabad and looking at Prakash during my sessions. Hey everyone

How is everyone? I signed up to this last week and finally got accepted. I got back into Sikhi after a VERY long time and I realized I wasn't even into it really before. I was just born into it but didn't know much due to being young and just paying no attention to it. These last 3 or 4 months, I have learned so much and it is amazing googling questions and finding answers and discussions. I never thought I would voluntarily go to the Gurdwara sahib every chance I get to listen to the Katha and listen to the Sukhmani Sahib or Kirtan on the way to work, etc. I just wanted to say that I'm lookin

There is no higher or lower. It’s only until you literally put your head on the floor and accept your self as shit as the Gurus themselves accepted themselves as lowly worms, that you start truly loving. I’m by no means perfect at all. I accept myself as shit. I’m just a sinner, we all are without Him. For without Truth, we live in ego, I wondered around for years in fear etc. it actually took me ages to accep

@harsharan000 and @Sikhilove Interesting topic. Without butting into a debate, I have to say that as per my understanding of "truthful living" and good deeds; I would agree with @harsharan000 . @Sikhilove, let me explain below on why I come to this conclusion. Doing good deeds falls under the umbrella of Satogun behavior.. Remember that maya is divided into tamogun, rajogun and satogun. >the 3 gunas of maya.. Since maya is the creative illusion, it is also in a continuous flux of motion. Sometimes we call it Kaal's desh since this motion is relative to Time and Space. Howe

You probably know enough already to walk quite far down this journey. Now work on the practical building not the theoretical understanding unless you need your battery charging. I should also practice what I preach HaHa. You shouldn't really have too many questions for Gurmukhs unless your having simran problems or experiences that you want to share or discuss with them. Honestly they get fed up with people calling them all the time. Don't become one of those. Keep it once every few weeks or months. Then they love to hear from you, and see how your getting on. Guys, you really don't want to fall in this entrapment. The Mind is too easy to tempt into different directions. Grabbing tips from x,y and z will only make the mind race and prevent it form stabilizing. One's daily conduct has to be done with a steady mind. How you go about in your day reflects how easily you can go into sehaj and steadiness in simran. Keep it simple, have faith and be prepared to give your matt at all times. Jumping around with a monkey mind, going from x,y, z will only weaken your hold over the mann. You must have complete faith in the EK that you decide t

There is an avastha during which a fragrance akin to chandan emanates from the abyasee,, therefore, I'd say chandan gurbani references are more than just metaphors and we can go though some if you like. I've tried different dhoof brands and some are more preferable than others. Mother india is one that i like but can't always get hold of around here. Not noticed any direct affect with doing bhagtee, but I usually put one on at the beginning of long session if I feel the air needs it.

First step is to just walk towards this direction. Pray to waheguru ji that i want to walk on the path of 'liv' .. request him to pick his child or make him walk on his path. That's all one can do.. Rest is all in his hands. If he makes you do his Bhakti, Jap naam, enter sunn and imparts to different Avastha etc. Haina?? Naam, shabad, and amrit burn haumai and desires (trishna ) "haumai trishna shabad bujaai" Guru Amardas jee Naam does not produce ego but it will invoke the awareness of it. The seeker becomes conscious of when mann is acting in ego or when mann is in guru's hukam( gur-mat). You get better in recognizing when one's ego is in play.

  27. You can achieve power by practicing mantras. In english you could say that you 'sidh a mantra'. As I mentioned above: Haumai naavay naal virodh hai. Doay na vasai khataey. If you practice a mantra, any mantra, with the aim of getting power, anger or anything related to the five thieves or ego then it is not naam. Naam is your 'true self', the Satnaam. Man tu jot swaroop hai, aapna mool pachaan. The examples of abuse Sikhilove is making above refer to people who get some amount of power and use it for personal gain of some sort. Not all of them do so overtly, t

At some point, humans decided that mean are higher than women, when Gurbani teaches pure equality. Look at Mai Bhago, the perfect example of a woman. Our different Janams, our different sexes in janams are symbolic of this. We are ever changing. Only the Truth remains. Why worship a fleeting shadow when the King of Kings is the only being that remains, the only reason we wake up, eat food, breathe air, walk amongst the trees etc. Life is temporary. 35. One explanation I heard was, Gurbani is universal in terms of gyan is given to all regardless of background. It does not limit a person to a particular mantra. It places great emphasis on japing the Gur mant (i.e Gurmantar). You jap the gurmantar that you have been given. Ram, Har, Gobind, Waheguru etc. No school of thought should feel exempt from receiving the wisdom of Gurbani. Bhai Gurdas ji clearly states for us Sikh's that "Waheguru gurmantar hai jap homeaa kohe" In terms of building stability when do paath or Simran the key is to listen the words that come out of your mouth.

This is what happens when our Ardas is heard in the Dargah and we are blessed with this GurParsaad. This is a GurParsaad of a very high order. When the Nirgun and Sargun become one in an ordinary person then a Puran Sant Hirda is born.
