  1. Sikhs do not believe in conversion. One who is willing to give up his or her dharam is not to be trusted, let alone married.
  2. Thank you for adding this tid-bit. Very interesting.
  3. If you have any documents/articles/information regarding Sikhs fighting for Germany, please do post it. I'm sure the whole sangat is interested.
  4. Looks like the Sikh Coalition is doing excellent work.
  5. Best wishes to all the American folks.
  6. Ok Mr. Hindu, kindly tell us who exactly a Hindu is? Give us a clear definition. Let's start from there.
  7. Are you high on Sukha palm_w1 ? Governments work for the best interests of their nation/people that elect them, not for humanity. They have no obligation to the rest of the world. Thus, the USA looks out for what's best for the USA, just like any other nation on the planet. It's just that the US has a bigger boot.
  8. Guv, I don't believe that you have established that Sikhs consider Cows sacred. The quotes you have provided do not clearly support such a conclusion either. Maybe you should conduct a poll on Sikhawareness to see how many Sikhs consider the Cow a sacred animal?
  9. I liked this quote: "Indian government was far too clever for them". That pretty much sums up the whole "Khalistani movement" for me. The GOI changed the rules of the game, and those who realized this were far and few in between.
  10. I think I was pretty clear Practically, a cow is more valuable than other animals because of the milk, but it most certainly is not "sacred" and I don't know of any Sikh who holds that view.
  11. I don't think IE supports it. Mozilla does though, IIRC.
  12. The "Khalistani movement" has been dead for like a decade. The question is moot.
  13. I think so too. We live in the world of labels - militant, fundamentalist, terrorist, coward, patriot, hero, traitor, the list goes on and on. Whole ballads used to be written to define a man, but these days a single word is considered sufficient. It just goes to show you how much "progress" man-kind has really made. I refuse to believe in this BS.
  14. Looking at the reactions of people in response to the video, it would seem to me that most of the west doesn't have what it takes to win this long and drawn-out war on "terror". We Sikhs know full well the kinds of things these guys are capable of; the West is just starting to get a taste now.
  15. I think the answer completely depends on the person's intentions before he or she had the procedure done. If he or she decided to take Amrit after the procedure was done, then the person must beg the forgiveness of the Panj Payaras and they would decide what is appropriate.
  16. Some interesting questions and thoughts raised by "Balbir S Khanuja" on "rituals" in Gurbani [posted on Sikhnet]: http://www.sikhnet.com/Sikhnet/discussion....37?OpenDocument
  17. Sorry, my comments weren't specifically meant for you. As far as ignorance, you know the saying - Ignorance is bliss. I'm generally more annoyed than angry when idiots fail to recognize me as a Sikh. These days it seems only the negative things are worth reporting. The media has no concept of honor or responsibility. Kaljug indeed.
  18. While I agree that we should continue (even redouble) our efforts to tell the world who we are, let's not take on the victim mentality. We are supposed to be lions not sheep. The last thing we should be AFRAID of is what people think of us or what they say about us. I mean common, are we going to be bothered by a bunch of words or people staring at us?
  19. I for one will fight tooth and nail against any human representation of the Gurus in the movies. I hope the Sikh panth will forever stand against such a thing as well.
  20. The bugger was posting offensive comments about Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
  21. It doesn't even try! At least the writer could have made a lame attempt, but not even that. Take everything it says with a bag of salt! This vast ocean of "Hinduism" is nothing but a mirage.
