  1. Would jus tlike to point out that i'ts not possible to use naam for ego. We shouldn't confuse gyaan and ridh-sidh with naam. Haumai naavay naal virodh hai. Doay na vasai khataey.
  2. Problematic. He may have got a better response by approaching the matter in a different way and ensuring the Gurbani was treated with respect. It looks like he went in there alone. Are there no Sikh organisations he could have approached for support? With enough pressure and publicity in the right way the outcome may have been better. Unpopular opinion: From a political point of view we did lose the war and this is generally what happens when someone loses a war. They have weakened to the point where we can make scenes like this without retribution but unless our political clout rises again we're a mosquito disturbing a buffalo. They'll never respond well to this kind of protest, he'll be treated as nothing more than a heckler and a bully. A more diplomatic approach with sufficient pressure and publicity could have worked better. Consider the current political strength of China, who hasn't been able to get their artifacts back yet, and the supposed ally Greece who hasn't been able to get theirs back either. Eventually something will give, with enough pressure from multiple fronts, and there may be a watershed moment.
  3. Its not a hindrance per se, the problem is if it leads to arrogance. The way to prevent this is seva.
  4. Interesting considering singapore has a significant sikh population. Tell him to contact ministry of manpower.
  5. I'm not sure how to describe this more than a 'feeling'. While meditating you should start differentiating between your mind (manmat) and Gurmat. Thoughts that arise themselves (not out of logic) and that are absent of any aspect of the five thieves is what I would consider hukam. People often make excuses that they can do something wrong because it's for a good cause, this is manmat, noble as it may be.
  6. The way people treat you changes as you progress. Act in hukam, there's no need for these things to take you away from naad unless your reaction is not according to hukam.
  7. I don't understand why it takes you away from naad, is it because of the work itself? Or your reaction to the request?
  8. sorry I didn't have time to expand on this when I wrote it. Kirtan is Gurbani. Even if it's Dharna kirtan a la Rara Sahib, the message is that you should jap naam. If someone has that opinion I would get as far as possible. One of the most confusing things about finding a murshid is that so many of the techniques of Gurmat overlap with techniques used for bad intent. People can dress themselves up like a Gursikh, and pretend like they are the real deal but underneath they can be, basically, spiritual thieves stealing your kamai. They will dress up their message with lots of truth but stick in a little grain of falsehood that enable them to harm you. Even if some of them are legit to begin with they can fall into the trap of maya on the way and get attracted to Sidhi etc. My take is that if I were to look for a murshid I'd go to places where there is a long lineage, such as Bhai Daya Singh Samparda, for example
  9. Sant Isher Singh Bachans, I think it was on youtube or gurbaniupdesh. 12-2am is the most beneficial 2-4am is slightly less 4-6am slightly less again
  10. Amrit Vela doesn't imply that you shouldn't do simran 24/7 or that there is anything wrong with doing it at a different time or that you need to wait for that time. It starts at around midnight until 6am, being most beneficial from midnight to 2am.
  11. You mentioned this dripping years ago and said you thought it was a pipe but then also heard it somewhere else? Are your insects continuous?
  12. This thread is 5 years old. Posts can be as long as you want as long the content is good. RE fits, shaking, squirming, rolling around while doing simran. This is caused by negative energy/karam/presences being pushed away by Gurbani. Once they're gone the experience develops into anand. The Gurus and Bhramgianis probably never went through this process because it is caused by the presence of negative energy or bad karma which is something a Pavitar Pursh would not have in the first place.
  13. Having everyone home and pushing your buttons is a great opportunity to put things into practice.
  14. At most it can be aerosolised, it's not the same as airborne. The difference is you need to be in close contact with someone, or touch something that has been infected whereas an 'airborne' virus would literally float around in the air. The finest Aerosols can stay in the air up to 3 hours, so far the main public risk for aerosol exposure is public toilets (you can create an aerosol when you poop), whereas health workers have more risks. The infected droplets when you sneeze spread about 1m, less when you speak. Given that up to 50% of the infected are asymptomatic it would make sense for everyone to wear masks at this stage and assume that everyone is a carrier. On another note, western media and gov sources are way behind the curve the response has been shambolic not to mention the problem with clickbait articles and politicisation of everything. Look at SE Asian sources for more balanced and honest news.
  15. It's not airborne. When you speak you spit, it's unavoidable. If you're sick the droplets will spread th einfection.
  16. in human form or a vision? in terms of difficulty past karam is a factor. What may seem easy for one person would be due to past kamai.
  17. The UK is beyond a joke. The response in most African countries has been decent, let alone Asia, putting the west to shame. All these epidemics come from animal exploitation. The vast majority of new diseases are zoonotic.
  18. Interesting excerpts for us tl;dr types ;v https://pathwork.org/lectures/the-higher-self-the-lower-self-and-the-mask/
