Coming from Richmond it is the right-side of the Nordel exit (don't take Nordel). Coming from Surrey it is the left side of the Alex Fraser exit (don't get onto the bridge) - http://www.numenon.com/antam/map.gif. The viewing / darshan will be from 6-8pm today (Friday). The body will be sent back to Punjab tomorrow as there are so many sangataa in Bhai Sahib's native village waiting for darshan as well. Just a reminder that the funeral service for Bhai Sahib Parminder Singh Khalsa and Bibi Rena Kaur Khalsa will be at 1:00pm at Five Rivers funeral hall on 7410 Hopcott Road off River Road on Saturday, followed by the bhog at Gurdwara Sahib Dasmesh Darbar on 85 Ave off 128St, which leads into the rainsabhaee keertan at the same location, which leads into the divas sohila (all-day keertan) smagam at Gurdwara Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Sikh Society on 88Ave near 144St. The kids decided on an informal dress code of white cholay/suit/kurta and kesri/orange dastaar/keski/rumaal. So if any kids from the academy or akhara are reading this - if we can let's go as a team and try to wear this informal uniform (if you don't have it, it's understandable). All the sangat are requested to come together for these events so that Guru Nanak's laadlee bhujang fauj can become ranglay and get laahaa together in chardee kalaa. bhul chuk maaf karnaa, Vaaheguroojeekaakhaalsaa Vaaheguroojeekeefatheh! - The Sikh Youth of BC sikhyouth@shaw.ca

  6. I totally agree with this article and I think there is more than needs to be done to help young Sikhs deal with depression. But what can be done? Anybody have some good suggestions?
  7. i think it's all the fault of people like me who don't keep their amrit vela guru jee said as long as we keep rehit he will help us plain and simple !
  8. Yes. Guru Sahib was the light of God shining on earth, and still is. God has three forms - nirgun, sargun and shabad. Guru Nanak Dev Jee was the SHABAD. The physical body was not the GUru, the light shining from the spirit inside the physical body was the Guru. This light shined in all 10 Guru Sahibs and it still shines in Guru Granth Sahib jee, and when Punj Pyare are in the hazooree of Guru Granth Sahib, then you are having FACE-TO-FACE darshan of Guru Gobind Singh jee. I think Gurbani clearly says "har jug jug bhagat upaaeiaa" The Gurus always considered themselves as slaves of God but Guru Sahib has said so himself "God and God's servants are ONE" You cannot say that when you do Waheguru simran you are doing simran of Guru jee - no you are doing simran to WAheguru, God. However, Guru is the one who unites you with WAheguru. Those other prophets may have been great bhagats - but their worth is only tested when you see if they really connected somebody to the love of God, completely. If you compare Guru jee to other saints, you are discrediting the "vadee vadeaaee" of the "vadaa darbar" and sacha takhat and nehchal chaur chhath of Guru Nanak Dev Jee bhul chuk maaf karnaa jeeeeeee VAAHEGUROOJEEKAAKHAALSAA VAAHEGUROOJEEKEEFATHEH !!!
  9. Vaaheguroojeekaakhaalsaa!! Vaaheguroojeekeefatheh !!! I agree with "HeyDudesWassup" . . . In my humble opinion, many Taksali and AKJ people both agree that Bhai Jarnail Singh jee's bani is shudh. Some AKJ people complain that taksalis never accent some words and TAksalis complain the AKJ accent too many words... Bhai Joginder Singh Talwara Jee kind of read gurbani in the middle of both extremes and Bhai Jarnail Singh jee's uchaaran (www.gursikhijeevan.com) is also very good and a compromise between different schools of thought. I think of course love matters - but you will really be showing your love when you take santhiya classes. I am not very honest and reliable, and I am not showing my love because I have only taken santhiya once, of nitnem. Many Gurmukhs have taken santhiya of nitnem three or four times, and also of Guru Granth Sahib. I hope someday I can do this. There are many places you can take SAnthiya - I'm not sure about UK but in Canada for sure. Please ask around. I would not advise you to stop doing paath... just maybe stick with tapes and also do how much you can and like "heydudes" veerjee said, just do ardaas - Guru jee is ON YOUR SIDE !! stay in chardee kalaa jee, VaaheguroojeekaakhaalsaaVaaheguroojeekeefatheh!!!
  10. hmm in light of summeet kaur bhainjee's comments vismaad is not only wonderstruck... but wonder in and of itself wonderful, wonderstruck, wonderous, "vaaho" i will try to find the exact translation... but hanjee bhainjee that's a beaaautifulllllllllllll shabad.... really puts into perspective everything we go through ... seperation, union, hunger, fulfillment, pain, pleasure, ... waheguru
  11. the only tiem i've been really embarrased is when i've done something against sikhi and then i've had to confront it. those situations have come up many times. if something disrespectful happens to my kakaars.. maybe that could be unfortunate and i may feel regretful.. but going outside and people seeing my dastaar or anything like that... that's not embarrassing.. man.. who cares what judgemental society's people think !!! as for kes coming loose or what-not... i've gone on many road trips and sometimes this does happen in which case i've had to tie my dastaar in the bathroom at some gas station on top of a whole stack of paper towels.. :? bhul chuk maaf karnaa jeeeeeee VaaheguroojeekaakhaalsaaVaaheguroojeekeefatheh!!!
  12. Contact PETA, and get their "veggie starter kit" -- it will help.
  13. "aap gavaaeeai thaa(n) sahu paaeeaai aur kaisee chathuraaee"
  14. You're welcome to come to Vancouver for the AKJ smagam in May or the Saadh Sangat smagam in June and partake of khande-ke-pahul
  15. I personally completely and absolutely disagree that Guru Sahib would ever really put on a hat In this message Guru Sahib is showing that what a real hat is - of the Guru's wisdom and Guru Gobind Singh jee's wisdom has also ordained that a Sikh should tie a dastaar - as the external appearance to reinforce the internal love for Guru's hukam but i have a long way to go ... don't respect my dastaar enough bhul chuk maaf karnaa jee VaaheguroojeekaakhaalsaaVaaheguroojeekeefatheh!!!
