  1. Being Devils advocate ... has anyone seen the play? If you have can you please post some details about it. What script lines were really offensive and such like ... Reading reviews of the play, it looks like it's a comedy: http://www.asiansinmedia.org/news/article.php/theatre/735
  2. This is turning out to be a US versus the rest argument! I have to say that I side with the rest, after reading about the wrong decisions that the US has made Internationally. I just thought I would comment on some of the points made by Jamuka: Most of the 60 countries had other motives to support the war on terror: http://www.fas.org/gulfwar2/at/ http://www.alertnet.org/thefacts/reliefres...08418153847.htm Look what happened to France who were vilified by the US, when G Bush called them (and Germany who didn't support the war on Iraq) "old Europe". Americans boycotted French Fries, one New York restaurant made some fries and called them Freedom Fries! How childish was that? This was all because France said they wanted proof that there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. I'd like to point you towards Scott Ritters book called the "War on Iraq": http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/1...0640978-5425444 Scott Ritter is an ex UN Weapons Inspector. In his book he details how it was not possible for Iraq to be in possession of any chemical, biological or nuclear weapons. Personally I was opposed to the war on Iraq as I knew thousands of civilians would die and it would become a perfect recruiting ground for terrorist organisations like Al Qaeda.
  3. 'Indian' astrology is called Vedic Astrology. The perception is that it has very strong ties and is part of Hinduism, as a lot of the Pandits do it. This is an incorrect sterotype. I just wanted to point that out. It was devised by the Vedics who were scientists. Now vedic astrology is when the person you go to creates a birth chart (sometimes called a teva), this is based on your date of birth to the nearist minute, your place of birth and your name. In the teva you'll see a diagram, basically a square split into 16 triangles. These depict 16 aspects of your life. Sometimes the pandits will tell you to wear certain gem stones to boost certain aspects of your life (that's why you see some people wearing pearl/ruby/saphire rings). But you can also do this by doing Paath and simran. Usually the person you go to will look at this chart and see which aspect of your life is in trouble. He/she will look at different patterns within the diagram that affect you making different decisions eg Marriage. You may find a lot of charlatans out there, that will make 2-3 correct diagnoses out of 10. But when it comes to the crunch time for making a life changing decision, they will make the wrong analysis. They will instill baem (sp? worry) into you. As far as I know vedic astrology is the most accurate 'Indian' astrology there is, more so than palmistry. btw Guru Nanak had his birth chart done and the pandit started crying because he would not be able to see the wonderfull things he was to do.
  4. I was doing a search on Google for articles on the Sau Sakhi and came across this website: http://devilz541.tripod.com/ It does sound a bit far fetched! But does anyone think there is any truth to the Sau Sakhi in any of it's forms?
  5. Thank you very much for your reply to my message Rupy! I love visiting America as I've got loads of relatives living there, also I love watching Hollywood movies. I don't hate America, I hate what the American government is doing around the world! As I don't live in America I get to see the reality of the situation as most American media is Republican. Over here in the UK alot of the media is Conservative but we do have some media outlets that are objective like the BBC and the Guardian newspaper. You might want to listen to Air America, a new radio station that is Democratic/Liberal set up in the US: http://www.airamericaradio.com/pub/globalDefault.htm Contrary to reports, being liberal does not mean you have to be soft on terrorism! I've been reading many books and articles on post 9/11 from objective media outlets and it really vexes me that your reponse to my post is 'cause it is 'prolly bashing US ..... and I'd have to do so much more fact and research checkin..-Don't go time for it..'. You're of legal age to vote now, so I ask you ... who do you vote for Redpublican or Democratic? (of course you could vote Green, which would be even better!)
  6. I don't want to make any enemies here or beat anyone down, but I thought I'd air my opinions as well ... Everybody on this discussion has missed the root cause of this problem of Islamic terrorism and focused on other preventative measures such as education. If you spoke to Osam Bin Laden and asked him why he hated the Americans so much he would say two things: a) The US has outstayed their welcome in Saudi Arabia and should go home. Saudi Arabia holding Mecca the spiritual home of all Muslims. The US support for Israel, who continuously kill innocent palestinions without any consequences. Of course he would spew out stuff like Americans being infidels and he should kill all non-believers of Allah. But most Arabs (many who do not follow Bin Laden) hate America because of the above 2 points.
